    Leap Computing

I have just stumbled across this, its a little over my head, this gaming in the cloud etc: http://www.leapcomputing.com/#about Anyone think this could help those A3 players having performance issues out ? If this is in the wrong place mods, sorry, didn't really know where to put it.

    Leap Computing

Have to say mine runs it very well, though I do use a private server for mp with the group. But it was just a thought to help any that may have needed it, there are a lot complaining on the forum here regards performance, mostly in mp. I think a lot of that is down to bad public servers though. But not sure as I don't use them.
  3. Shows how long I've been away from vanilla ai..;)

    Music Recommendations

I watched this again the other night for the umpteenth time. The music is great and this theme is one of the best in movies, for me anyway.
  5. Yes I know.;) It was sort of a question I already knew the answer too. But its an in-joke thing, with someone, when it comes to problems and or features, in the series. :D Thanks to you and @Brisse though. :)
  6. That's right, but can lead to problems, mainly because vanilla ai, in particular, don't seem to care how/where they move, or if they're seen (that's from memory, not played with vanilla ai much in the last decade). Having got an ai unit in a good position, best to let him trace from that position. But you are correct in what you say. If you want a unit to track an enemy unit, then have them drop back a little, go stealth.
  7. I'm not sure I get what you mean, however; if you spot a target for an ai teammate, but have ordered him to hold fire, he'll trace that enemy unit if its in eyesight and when you order him to open fire he'll shoot it (if he can). Engage they'll choose their own targets same as engage at will. The idea is sometimes you spot the target you want them to fire at, but hold them back (hold fire), until you have your team in a position of advantage, with perhaps many targets spotted for ai to open up on. That way you'll get better results (well sometimes). I don't play A3 much so not sure if the vanilla ai is up to that job, but that's how it was designed (I think).;) Edit: just a note, I use hold fire a lot in modded A2CO, having your teammates hit the targets you want can be far more efficient than having them blast away at enemy they like. A team of say 5-7 can do a great deal of damage to the enemy if they are ordered to engage correctly.
  8. 'Engage' and the unit will engage but stay in formation. 'Engage at will' and the unit may/will move to a better spot and/or other locations to engage the enemy.
  9. If I'm thinking correctly here, aren't many of the 'devs', ex mod makers ?

    Piranha

There are a few of these around in A2, not exactly like the OP's project though. The ones that spring to mind are: Chenowth FAV (2 types) Hummvee Beast Is it fuzzies Buggy (something like that anyway) There are more, but can't think of any more at the mo. But this project looks good, hope it has nice suspension like the FAV's have. Overall suspension in A3 isn't much good really. Good luck with your project.

Yeah, I just wondered, its over my head this type of thing, so I wasn't sure myself. Looked interesting though.

    Squad (PR:BF2 Devs)

Nearly choked on my dinner.. :p The rest I've said in the correct thread for it, i.e. other games.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCa6w5HM4LY&list=PLj7LIw2iwG-FZKdxADJJ1UvHS-iKmBR-J&index=26 A good while back I tried dvd in A3, seem to work o.k. but not great as in really smooth. The video is from my old Athlon 640 '2013', it ran A3 very well really. I did put a request in the addon request thread for the maker to have a look, or maybe sent a pm can't remember now. Either way I didn't get a response so I left it. Thought it would be handy for those having performance issues back then. Also MWVD works well in A3, well did when I tested it around the same period.
  14. Congrats to the winners. :D

    Descent on Kickstarter

    I know, I'll go stand in a corner. ;)
  16. Today's the day, isn't it. Good luck to all involved. I hope you have given them the address's to send the cheques too. ;)

    Biggest Helicopter?

I don't play a great deal of A3 preferring A2 instead. However, the Mi26 will carry 58 inc crew safely. Now there is no problem with ai and a number of humans. Not sure regards all human players, as it can be a little buggy i.e. you don't see all seated inside although the seats are there. Usually there will be 3-5 not shown, but will exit at the destination safely. Not sure if it will work in A3 or for that matter whether or not its been ported (with permission), you would need to check it out.
  18. I have been watching a few videos on YT about this and some of the cities players have designed. Really good designs are coming out of the game, just wondered if anyone has played this type of game and what they think of it. I've never done a city building type game before, but this does look good.

    Cities: Skylines

I'm very tempted, keep watching videos and thinking, that's great but wouldn't it be better if... So maybe I should buy and find out. I'll probably end up with a city where the population die out or turn to crime, with huge traffic tailbacks and crumbling infrastructure. Just thought, I could base it on Liverpool. ;) :p

    Descent on Kickstarter

I didn't like this game the first time around, but it may be better this time. I know that many that play ED that use OR say its a different game, which thinking about it, is handy. ;)
  21. Same here regards hangar doors not working. Thanks for supporting the project and your hard work though, especially for A2 here.

Germanwings Airbus A320 Crashes in France

Its very sad. Apparently there were quite a number of children/students on a pupil exchange project. Can't imagine what it must be like saying goodbye to a son or daughter and seeing them off on a trip, then a short time later having to face the fact that they will never return home again, doesn't bare thinking about. Its sad for every person's family on-board, adult or child.
