Game-Mode That YOU Think Should Be Official

Filter for, "capture-the-island", CTI. The EUTW folks run popular tee-time pvp servers. -
Black screen, no sound, can only hard reset
ratszo replied to Outlawz7's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Temp on the cpu? Look in the case lately? How long do you play before it locks up? Could be a memory error too..., bad stick? Can run 'memtest' for that. -
Things to try: -Reset your router. Unplug it, wait a minute, replug. -Disable any anti-virus progs --if you got AVG, uninstall. -Drop your firewall for a test. Try to join a server we know doesn't require mods..., like "hostile takeover" wasteland or king of the hill servers. I've noticed, been getting green for servers that run mods i don't have. Don't trust the green status now. ..., oh, and ofcourse make sure you don't have any mods enabled. GL!

what cheap, immersion features would be good for Arma?
ratszo replied to steele6's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
VON --voice-over-net-- is in desperate need of a fix..., and perhaps a rethink & redo. Without a stable, dependable VON, we play the game as deaf mutes. -
I want to get my first set of joystick/throttle/pedals, please help!
ratszo replied to BobbyBlue's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I use Saitek stick & pedals. The profile editor is very good for setting micros, advanced commands, ranges, alternate profiles on the fly. Been using it for years and still find new ways to program it. My advice would be to buy the stick first ..., then pedals. Take your time. Good luck! -
Was getting same --front & rear jacks gave no output --sound was defaulting thru the onboard case speaker. Had 2 other playback devices in the control panel sound window enabled. Disabled one of the extra devices and bingo, it worked. Getting normal output thru headphone jacks.
-
Mine is working. Did you change profile? Maybe recheck the addy on the profile --/docs/arma3/profiles....
-
Worth noting, my pedal profile has "Stance/lean right/left; and back to normal stance on release. Tho, when mapped to analog steering it still reads the "-/+ axis" dispite being mapped to "advanced key commands" --so it doesn't require a second profile.
-
Nope, not on the pedals.

Petition: Add a 'Rant'' sub-forum, or make use of existing
ratszo replied to fn_Quiksilver's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
When i see a guy's join date Jan.'15 with over 100 rant posts, gotta think he's been banned before --and will be banned again. -
Good point. I have the pro pedals and have never had a problem. Tho some report a problem where the running belt skips off the track. Fixing it requires pulling the back-plate off to guide the belt back onto the track. No report of this problem with the combat pedals. So i'm thinking if one has a heavy foot on the pedals..., best to buy the more robust combat pedals.

No luck with a reboot?
-
Try a defrag and reboot. I disabled the launcher when it was first introduced..., buggy.
-
Download the software and look at it. Of course it has sensitivity sliders for curves --so does arma for that matter.
-
I got Saitek pro pedals & stick --ain't much you can't do with the profle software..., it's very good. Can DL the manual to take a look. Precise? --You can ajust the pedal's torsion by a torque screw capping the pivot.
-
Turbo speed of the cpu is 3.7ghz --make sure the power profile is maxed. There's a thread 'bout using faster ram --might be the way to go.
-
Tonic & company are an inspiration to all arma modders. Vive la Différence!

Want working weapon resting? use the AGM mod for Arma 3.
ratszo replied to jakeplissken's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Still hoping the devs will introduce this feature. Ever play 'Red Orchestra 2'? --shooting from hard-cover is a pure joy. -
Yep, i stand corrected, thanks. Was confused with weapons down pacing.
-
The 'weapon up' (jog) combat pace: Notice the transition to prone from standing is a chunky 'stand to crouch;crouch to prone'. --Weapon down (run) pace & sprint gives the smoother, faster belly-flop dive to prone from standing.

Arma 3 (release candidate) 1.36.128482+ stress-test MP (MultiPlayer)
ratszo replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Was just in. 120 player count was playable. Not bad at all, good work. Still some studdery von, tho many came thru fine on side-chat. -
Core i7 cpu 860 @2.8ghz --cpu is gonna struggle at a 2.8ghz clock. ---- A closer look shows this cpu has 'turbo boost' at 3.46 GHz --Are you clocking 3.46 GHz under load?

New Patch has decreased sensitivity of my input devices (controller and pedals)
ratszo replied to jaynic's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Found the same testing. For driving tho, X-axis & twisty Z-axis split 50/50 seems sweet for cornering --much less over correcting with the 50% throw. So X + Z acts like 'hand-over-hand' turning for a tight turn radius. So it does have some use. regards, -

Found this in the changelog: •Fixed: Multiple analog inputs on one action are averaged instead of summed. Be sure to not set input you are not using for that action as this will lower the overall input. http://dev.arma3.com/post/spotrep-00037
