  1. With XCam you can create anything you like then save it either as a mission.sqm file or a script file that you can run at mission init... it is the ultimate 3D editor. Excellent!
  2. ^ Also with rented servers there can be issues with access to the .dll location if it's stored in \appData Generally you need a server that you have full access to (ie: RDP) rather than a shared hosting solution that uses control panel software to admin the machine. edit: original instructions for setting up PDB
  3. Your best bet would be to post your question in the thread for that mission.. which can be found here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?104138-SP-Breakthrough-v1-0-a-furious-battlefield
  4. Can you reveal what is in the update or is it a surprise?? Also I'm curious about the DAC functions inside XCam.. .I see you can create zones, etc.. is this documented anywhere or still a work in progress?
  5. Not specifically no.. if the AI that are spawned still have knowledge about your position they may attack (this is default BIS AI behaviour).. but OPCOM doesn't hunt you down. Is your server rented from a gameservice provider (ie: Vilayer or NFO)? We've had some issues recently with shared hosting services and the ALiVE performance monitor... that and the latest CBA release causes some issues. We need to see your server's RPT file as well as the aliveserver.log (should be found in A3 directory or if not check @aliveserver\nlog.config file for location).
  6. ^this... XCam takes a bit to learn but oh boy is it good!

    Binkowski

    Great news!!
  8. Ah.. were you banned or somehow blocked by the server?
  9. I think Nziswasogo needs to be re-indexed either due to map updates or some other reason.. IIRC it also detects civ location(s) off the map grid. It should recognize some objectives though.. at least it did last time I tried it (months ago now).

    Cossac cape map, Crimea

I see it's already been added to the ALiVE tracker (thanks Spyder) - indexing relies on map object IDs not changing with updates.. if you think your map is pretty close to being completed (ie: no major changes) we'll index it. If the map is still a WIP it's best to wait until it's closer to completion (indexing has to be re-done if map IDs change). Looks like a great map!
  11. So this only happens to you? Other players can see and join the server? If you manually connect to it in Arma does it work?
  12. Hey there... I'm the admin for the VG Insurgency server I'll keep an eye out for him. We don't get nearly the player count we used to however....
  13. Thanks for keeping this updated!!
  14. Make sure you are installing the dedicated server package from Steam and not the client install.
  15. Hi Nemesi!! This is great news I loved watching the Rolling Thunder videos from A2. Not a lot of time at the moment but hopefully I'll get to sign up for a future match!
  16. Thanks Cyruz... miss this from A2
  17. Can't find real path "a3\map_altis\data\roads\roads.shp": "No such file or directory" That's a scary one.. I would try verifying the game cache in steam (or if that's not possible using steamcmd then I would delete and re-download Arma 3).

    Mission Read From Bank issue

Check the mission.sqm file in your mission folder - make sure any client-side addons (which might have been enabled while someone was editing the mission) are not listed there and if so remove them (ie: JSRS). For sure that message means your server is missing a required addon for the mission. Also perhaps post the first ~200 lines or so of your mission.sqm file to pastebin and link back here.
  19. Thanks EB I've re-opened the ticket until I get a chance to test this.
  20. ^ if the mission you are using has lots of addon errors (or script errors like undefined vars) being spit out to the RPT file, then yes it will make a difference.. especially on servers with 'slower' hard drives. re: ASM I believe that is now a function of the War Room.. so if you have that setup and working you should be able to monitor server performance through the War Room page.

    I want to edit warfare

If you are hosting an MP session you cannot log in as admin... this only works on a dedicated server. That being said if you are the host I'm pretty sure you are supposed to be able to adjust the mission parameters...
  22. ^ depends on urgency of release (ooh.. .that sounded dirty!!). Hopefully this weekend I'll get some training on map indexing and if so my first attempt will be Kunduz.
  23. If it runs fine in SP on your machine but not on dedicated I would try re-installing ALiVE mod and CBA... also test with -noLogs param set on dedi http://dev.withsix.com/issues/75963 Should have been fixed already EB... can anyone else confirm this is still happening? All players get the ability to change those settings. As a general FYI, there have been some changes in the latest CBA version that are causing some issues with ALiVE. Devs are working hard to resolve them but in the meantime if you are having major issues getting missions to run properly with ALiVE I would suggest reverting back to the previous CBA version and re-testing your mission. I'm not sure of the schedule for the next release but let's hope for a hotfix soonâ„¢

    Kunduz, Afghanistan [10km] v1.20

Not yet ;) Seeing as I get asked this question multiple times daily expect it to make it into the 0.9.8 release of alive...especially now that map updates will be less frequent. Oh and excellent map James!
