  1. Hi, I'm happy to announce the first alpha release of HUNTER SIX: Special Operations Unit for the Make Arma not War contest. I was inspired by: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (2001) ArmA 2 - Manhattan mission Books by Howard E. Wasdin, Marcus Luttrell, Chris Kyle, Mark Owen and Brandon Webb. so if you're a fan of these above, I believe you will find something interesting in my work. Together with the Steam release I have prepared a small trailer video to narrow you the gameplay ideas. I'm sorry about the compression quality, I had a real struggle with the software and this was the best I could get this time. Please remember this is an alpha release so it might contain some bugs. Looking forward to all your questions and opinions about the scenario. Hope you will have some fun with it. DOWNLOAD LINK: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=310594159 VOTE & SUPPORT If you like the idea, please support the concept at: http://makearmanotwar.com/entry/H9og7g41xW#.U-eTnmMVnwY TRAILER: Overview: On the eve of civil war in Greece, a Navy Special Unit - HUNTER SIX is sent to Altis to locate and rescue two missing CIA agents, who were tracking the rebel separatist leader, that calls himself the Messiah. Description: Hunter Six: Special Operation Unit is a Single Player open map Campaign set in 2016 on Altis. The main idea is not to copy a linear Call of Duty campaign style, but instead to focus on the best features that ArmA series offers. The campaign offers a fully randomized open map campaign with two main objectives: locate and rescue the hostages and locate and eliminate the leader of the rebels. The decisions how to reach the goals are fully up to the player. Each playthrough will also offer a different objectives path to collect the intel on the main targets locations. The content is packed within one dynamic SP mission. Key Features open world, fully randomized mini campaign (each playthrough is a different scenario) teammates level up system increases their combat skill teammates individual perks have an actual influence on your team teammates fatigue system (operators need to get back to the base and rest) talk to your teammates to learn facts from their personal life teammates permadeath squad selection, medal & ribbon awards and a squad statistics screen a reputation system that verifies if the locals are going to help you or join the rebels dynamic day/night cycle with sleeping (skip time) option new Transport and Close Air Support system via radio interview the locals, gather intel and plan your next move against the rebels search bodies to collect intel Player Decisions: The player decides what kind of actions he takes to achieve his main target. For example, the player decides how to interrogate the locals. He can push them hard to get more valuable intel or even search the house, but if he’s too aggressive the reputation will drop and more locals will start joining the rebel forces, so the enemy patrols quantity will increase. Hunter Six operators level up during the mission, so their skill statistics grow. It’s good to differ the squad selection for different tasks, so the younger operators can skill up. However, some operators may not like the idea to go for a dangerous mission with inexperienced teammates and this will have an influence on their skills. Few individual perk examples: Mentor -young squad members gain twice exp when he’s in squad Motivator -all squad members endurance statistic increases Speaker - team reputation rises when he’s in squad, helps to talk with the locals Navigator - points team position on map, even if not equipped with a GPS Cagey - operator loses some skill points when young team members are in squad Body Tracker - points on map killed enemies, it helps to find the bodies for an Intel search All perks are individual, so combined with a permadeath system, once you lose an operator during a mission, his talents will be gone forever. Story Background: The Greek Debt Crisis that has begun in 2009 is still ongoing. Big national budget cuts approved by the parliament in 2014 have led to huge demonstrations and riots all over the country. In 2015, a separatist formation called Dorean Valkania has been established. Their main goal was to separate Greece from the European Union, the main source of their problems. The support for Dorean Valkania grows very fast among the frustrated Greek population and this leads to another riots and bloody clash with the police. When the Greek parliament decides to use a brutal military force to put down the rebellion, Dorean Valkania goes underground and declares an open war on the present authorities. In 2016 the whole country is destabilized due to ongoing incidents and fights on the streets. Valkania is growing and the amount of bloody encounters increases month by month, so the Greek parliament officially ask the NATO forces for the assistance as they feel the situation is getting out of their hands. In May 2016, CIA loses their contact with two of their agents on Altis, whose assignment was to track down the rebel leader - codename Messiah. 2 weeks later, a Navy Special Operations Unit - Hunter Six, led by Lt. John “Daddy†Barnes, has been sent into the operation area on Altis, with two main objectives: locate and rescue the two missing CIA agents track down and eliminate the rebel leader codename Messiah Some pre-alpha screenshots:

    Hunter Six 2

Hi Everyone! It's been a while! I've decided to upload an early version of Hunter Six 2 - The Malden Crisis. It has a lot in common with the first installment, but also has some fresh solutions that I believe work much better. It is a rather early version, but it is a complete one and you should be able to play it from start to finish. Looking forward to hearing some feedback if you're up to check it out! STEAM VERSION Have Fun! Thanks, Lato

    [MP] co40 Domination!

@xeno all is working now, thank you! 🙂

    [MP] co40 Domination!

@XENO thx for the tip. So one more question. Is there a way to disable AI preview, when you play as a host? We play using LAN and as a HOST I see all the enemy units on map, can't find an option to turn it off.

    [MP] co40 Domination!

Documents\Arma 3\mpmissions is this the one? I'm extracting the whole folder there, but still no Tanoa or Malden version. What am I mising? 🙂

    [MP] co40 Domination!

Sorry for being noob, but I download the files, put them into mpmissions, but can't make them work to host a server. I can make Altis working, but only because it's from Steam. Can't make Tanoa or Malden working.
  7. Thanks, that is exactly what I was looking for! One more question: I have found that Map is display 12", but the command requiers a CONTROL instead of DISPLAY, I have no idea how to find this. _cords = (findDisplay 12) ctrlMapScreenToWorld getMousePosition; Any tips? EDIT FOUND IT! :) This works correctly: _cords = (findDisplay 12 displayCtrl 51) ctrlMapScreenToWorld getMousePosition;
  8. Hi, Is there a way to get the world coordinates of 2D map cursor? These are shown in the left bottom edge of screen in Eden [x,y] but I can't get a way to get that info in game, when the player opens the map and points an area. Also it needs to be returned without mouse click, so OnMapSingleClick won't help here. Any ideas? Thank You,
  9. [SCENARIO UPDATE v 1.06] The "weather patch" adds the predefined weather settings. The selected preset changes everytime time the player uses the skip time option. This is also fixes the old, permanent fog issue, as right now you just need to get some rest and the fog will reset. The newest version is available on Steam Workshop.
  10. Thanks to everyone who took part in the survey, it is a big help for me, to know your opinions. The survey is still up, so if someone is still willing to do feel free! Meanwhile [MISSION UPDATE] I plan to release a small "Weather" patch to fix that FOG ISSUE for good. The plan is to release it on Friday just before the weekend. Be aware that together with the mission update your save game might get corrupt.
  11. HUNTER SIX 2: Currently I'm collecting the ideas and references for HUNTER SIX 2 and I need your help! Please check out the facebook page and fill the survey to let me know what you expect from the sequel (each opinion really matters!): HUNTER SIX - FACEBOOK
  12. Press "U" to switch between the team members.
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys! @Riksen Nice uniform upgrades :) As for the president, make sure you hit the meetings in the right order. @gza036 It's some kind of math error. So the info is useless just stick to the info it's south west of Panochori.
  14. REARM FIX, Due to the issues with the Rearm Bug, the rearm button is now out. There are two gear boxes at the Olympus Air Base, one with Hunter Six gear stored and an empty one, to put in the gear that is not needed at the moment. PLAYABLE TEAMMATES To make rearming easier, you can now take control over your teammates that are selected. To switch betweet teammates press U button, once you assigned at least one oprator to the team. It should also help with the issues where a teammate was lost. Hope that helps a bit and sorry it took so long, but I needed a break ;) Regards, Lato
  15. Does anyone have an idea, why commands like: unitName addGoggles "G_Balaclava_oli"; unitName addGoggles 'G_Shades_Black'; stopped working after last update? All operators that were wearing shades or balaclavas are now spawning without it, any clues how to fix it? EDIT: FIXED! Apparently the commands itself work fine, it had something to do with the script execution order.
  16. Hunter Six didn't win the Make Arma Not War Contest, but it was a really great experience for me and I've received a lot of great feedback from you guys. I would like to thank everyone for the support and all the kind words. I feel really happy you had some good time playing Hunter Six, after all this was the main purpose of this mod :) Regardless to the competition result, I found out that you really liked some out of the box ideas and a different ARMA 3 gameplay approach. I'm really happy that so many Arma users feel the same way, that scripted story telling is not the only way to tell the story, there are some narrative tools that let you make your own plot, to make you care about your companions, to make you feel like really being inside the world you're playing. That was the main purpose of Hunter Six experiment and with all the support you have showed, that this can be fun too :) At this point I would also like to congratulate all MANW winners, especially my fellow county man Rydygier for Pilgrimage, with another innovative gameplay approach! I received many questions about a paypal account for free donations, so if you really feel you want to donate the project, you can do that with: PayPal Donation Thanks again and I hope to show you some more out of the box stuff in future! Best Regards, Lato

Congratulations mate! I'll kick your ass next time ;)
  18. Congratulations to the winners, especially for the Single Player category :)
  19. Hi Everyone, I wanted to introduce some stuff I've been working on for some time, a dynamic, open map SP Campaign - Hunter Six: Special Operations Unit. Overview: On the eve of civil war in Greece, a Navy Special Unit - HUNTER SIX is sent to Altis to locate and rescue two missing CIA agents, who were tracking the rebel separatist leader, that calls himself the Messiah. "Dak To" Map - Unsung ArmA 2 & 3

I'm a bit lost right now, is it for A2 or A3? Unsung works only with A2, but the movie clips are from A3? I'm really looking forward for a decent Arma 3 Vietnam mod!
  21. Painter, I'm glad you noticed the references :) also Thank You for the book recommendation, I've read a lot of military themed books, but I think somehow I missed that one!
  22. Thanks for the feedback :) The location of hostages and the rebel leader is randomized and always different. The fog is not scripted, I didn't mess with the weather at all, so it's the random Arma 3 weather. Once you get the NVG you gain the advantage, but things still can go very wrong if playing non carefully ;) The choices at the end, do not influence the ending, however the questions are based on what happened during your assignment. Really glad you had some good time with the scenario, Thanks Again!
  23. Hey thanks for the feedback! If the priest was alerted he's probably hiding somewhere near the place you found him. As for the President (the guy in Pink Shirt). When you killed him, you probably had a big reputation drop. You need to make sure to bring him in order to the first meeting first. As soon as he's near (5m) the 1st meeting marker, the meeting will start automatically. Hope that helps :)
  24. Thanks for all the feedback guys! It's really motivating :) DELTA6 DeltaMonkey found a cool workaround for the bugged REARM function! "found a workaround. Drag the gear in the crate to the ground and pick it up manually from there. I gave all of my AI backpacks so I can put their ammo in there" Hope that helps!
