i wish BIS would make official LIFE RP missions, like Sahrani/Chernarus/Takistan/Zargabad Life, this missions are very popular, there are more and more servers lately, and most of them being played from 10 to 50 people everyday. Look, there been CTI for OFP (cold war assault), by cleanrock, mapfact etc. It was all fan made, and now BIS made it official in Arma 1 and Arma 2 as Warfare, why not make life missions also official?

can't say i'm also much happy with my 6970, i'm playing with old geforce 8800gt now, normal texture details and 1330x resolution from 1920, and the game feels lot smoother, i think arma is more nvidia optimized then ATI.

Hey TheJumpMaster, welcome to our community! if you liked arma 2 free (with extreme ugly graphics and about 30% of content Arma 2 Combined can offer, you would LOVE combined, paying 1 price for 2 games, with lot's of new content (islands, missions, mods etc). Why would you wait almost a year for Arma III, if you can enjoy arma 2 Combined now? You like RTS games (warfare missions)? You like PvP or Coop (domination, evolution? You like GTA? (yes there are even GTA like RP missions chernarus life, takistan life, zargabad life). You like WW2, but with realistic setting - 1 shot 1 kill? Get invasion 1944 mod. - simply buy combined and enjoy!

my buddy, for some reason is sure, that with dx11 renderer, the game will run alot better. Don't ask me why, but when todays fastest renderer dx9, cant run arma smooth maxed out on most of the rigs, then it can be only worse with dx11 renderer.

this kicks me off servers with: "unknown game version" message. :(

did you install latest beta patch i.e do you run it?

take latest version, sure you need to patch both.

why won't you patch to latest version anyway? 56K modem in 2012, or whats the reason?

not having windows installed on an SSD is not a clever decision-

it will be released like demo as i could unrestand. Maybe they will do it as with Arma 2 Free, get your free key and activate the alpha.

And to guy, who trying to explain me what alpha is, i know what it is, alpha is quite a early build of a game, with lots unimplemented features yet, engine enhancement, optimization and stuff. But don't you think, if people would get an ALPHA, which plays smooth on most rigs (not only high end) looks good, and is interesting to play, this could make people pre-order/get full version when it's out, because they have had a really good experience with alpha version? BIS could achieve a big goal by publishing a good playable alpha, or scare lots of people off, cause of huge amount of bugs and very bad performance.

the only reason i'll looking for this alpha - testing performance. If it's good, i might get arma 3 copy just at release date, if it's worse - then i have to wait altleast half a year, to 5-10 bugfixes and optimization patches to come. Not nagging, just based on really bad arma 2 performance at release date.

i can't test my core i5 2500k now, but my CPU usage droped around 7%-10% after i clocked it to 4,3ghz from 3,3mhz.

btw how did you manage to clock ur cpu to 3,9ghz? No matter what i do - unstable at 3,9 for me, only at 3,8ghz. Water cooler perhaps?

i have no problems using steam version with mod. Shortcut or via expansion through the game.

actually yes, LOD switching is quite visible here, could be better.

I would recommend to update latest drivers for everything you got on your pc: motherboard/bios/chipset/gpu/soundcard or chip etc. Also recommend you to scan for errors defrag your entire HDD. Then use some registry cleaner (crap cleaner for example, or Glary Utilities free) and free registry defragger. Last step do windows update. If that doesnt help, try to reinstall the windows and repeat all the steps i told before. I had overclocked my cpu to 3,8mhz, changed ram timing from cl 9-9-9-24 to 8-7-8-21 @1.5v, also clocked northbridge freq. to 2.6ghz (this gave me deffinitly additional FPS) I was unable to play arma 2 on very high settings smoothly. After i've reinstalled windows, first i did was windows update and HDD defrag (i used open source ultradefrag, it has defragment and optimize function, which i did on all partitions), then installed all latest drivers for everything - and i was shocked, i was able to play arma with very high settings finally... To be sure you got all necessary drivers installed, plug in your motherboard drivers dvd, and compare to drives you downloaded. I never installed marvell chipset driver yet (i dont know whats on ur mobo), my windows 7 benchmark score was 5.9 because of HDD, now i have score risen to 7.4, and thats because of my CPU even clocked to 3,8ghz! My HDD has 7.6 score now lol! I hope this can help you, so it did to me.

it is even worse in arma 2 vanilla, when around 50 people are playing at same server, it gets quite unplaybe when your driving as a passenger in someones car, or flying chopper. Just after few meters, car runs into a building or fence and stucks there, engine sound is running, nothing happens, but driver who was with me talking via skype, said he was driving, when the car stuck in building for me. Same with passenger in a chopper - it looks like chopper is crashing in to the water or on the ground, but the chopper is still flying (for person who's a pilot in that chopper).
