  1. I forgot all about Airwolf Land somehow! That'd be great for a recreation of Renegade's first mission of sorts, if you think of it. DMA Libya's nice indeed - play on it a lot. Always have trouble with the Arabia one - not sure why? And no one can forget Tonal/TR. Those Egyptian objects would definitely be useful. I'll learn how to make some islands and make some generic ones, I think. It'd really help if I could model some Tiberium crystals and 'spores' to place down in fields (and even have some 'individual' ones. And some in crates).
  2. Maybe a realistic version of Renegade's C&C Canyon. Not 100% sure how to map that. Also, realistic versions of C&C95 campaign maps? The ones involving Libya, Chad, and Egypt.
  3. It's not perfect, but I am very content at the moment that I have just given GDI their Medium Tank (M1A1). The GDI medium tank is finally deployed. I worked since 4:30PM to 9:45PM after several hours of trial and error to 'perfect' it, basing it off of a mix of CNC95 cinematics and CNC Renegade's model (over something extremely simple too...). I present now, to you, the Medium Tank of GDI! http://i.imgur.com/80Hz1I8.png http://i.imgur.com/LHkrcjL.png http://i.imgur.com/LBuzbge.png
  4. It's going to be a full separate addon pack, so that you can play with other addons. I'm currently using it with WW4 and WW4 EXT, as an example, but I'm looking at it so that you can play it all by itself. It has its own mod folder: CNCBR, with further "expansions going" into Tiberian Sun, Tiberium Wars, and a little bit of 4 as an option (even though I dislike 4, some of the units were really cool), GDI - West, Forgotten - Independent, Nod - East, and several sub-factions (CABAL, Marked of Kane, Black Hand, Legion, etc). For the Red Tide 'prequel' expansion: CNCBR_RT - Allies (West), Soviets (East, Independent [defectors, or something]), with further expansions for this going into RA2/Yuri's Revenge and 3/Uprising - Allies - West, Soviets - East, Yuri - Independent, Empire of the Rising Sun - Independent/East, and several subfactions. Hopefully we'll get to Generals as well, which will be: CNCBR_Gen (Generals/Zero Hour). In this case: USA (West), China (Independent), GLA (East) It's a REALLY big project and the current amount of content already made is just the tip of the iceberg. Obviously I can't do this completely alone, which is why my original plan was for it being a community effort. It's completely up to anyone to help or not help, but I assure everyone that as content is made, the package is updated, and hopefully released within a reasonable amount of time - granted that life doesn't get in the way too much.

An open letter on basic ARMA:CWA support

Just an opinion I want to throw out there for everyone. I have to add, in general, that older games tend to have a bit more of a charm than these newer, 'prettier' games. I would not mistake this with staying in the past, but more of a respect to what came before the current title. We wouldn't have what we have now without what came before the latest editions. Some people feel that many aspects of the current games are lacking when compared to OFP. I think we can at least agree that there are absolutely no games without bugs, for if you fix one bug/glitch, it tends to break something else, however minor or major that error is. No game is perfect - not even the grand OFP - but for many here, OFP are where their hearts are because they began with it. Developer support is definitely encouraged, and there's a lot of it still here in this community thankfully (though this open letter addresses a certain title's lack of current support), and will continue to strengthen communities everywhere, regardless of which franchise it is. Here's an example of a game still being supported by the communities, long after Westwood Studios went under (and are now making a new game called Victory Command apparently, under a new name): Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun's source code was released quite awhile back, and now there are standalone game modifications using its engine - Twisted Insurrection, Dawn of the Tiberium Age to name a couple, and people are playing the classic religiously. Tiberian Sun originally came out in 1999. People are still modding it and supporting it and released several well known mods which don't even require the original game. This is just one of many examples of previous developer support for a game many now-a-days consider, "Outdated". I still go back and play the original Command & Conquer (1995) as well - people still playing that either alone or with each other, despite CNCNet being down for I believe a decade. Would you stop loving your first child when you suddenly have a second 'newer' child? This is a problem with a majority of people of this generation. They forget about what came before it, because the newest titles are overshadowing what brought things to where they are today. We all here CAN move forward, and we are in many respects, but we're not going to forget, because we still care about this legendary title and we want to keep it striving, regardless of it being a 'lower-end' graphics option or just simply for people who don't particularly care for the new titles, or that OFP still has a lot of replayability... Whatever people think about it, it will always still be an option to play it. Nostalgia as it may be, it's still bringing new people in, which is what's important. You can love a classic and not be 'stuck in the past', so to speak. It just drives our appreciation of newer titles up a bit more, because we've stuck with BIS for awhile (regardless of how late we got into everything). I personally don't think we're asking for too much here, but we can make do and adapt, so whatever happens either way, we won't be incredibly troubled by anything. We just would like BIS to see our appreciation for a still great and thriving title. :)
  6. Sorry for the long delay in updates, everyone, however I am here to say that once that Nod's Chinook is fixed and the readme is finalized with credits/installation instructions, another demo will be released. Lemme give the breakdown of what will be included: Global Defense Initiative (West) Brotherhood of Nod (East) Libyan National Army (Independent) In groups, there are only two infantry groups per faction available. One patrol with 5 minigunners and one patrol with 4 minigunners and an officer. Hopefully we'll get more groups soon, such as armoured groups, but for now this is what we've got. There's still a long way to go. For GDI we need: HMMWV, Medium Tank (M1A1), M113, A-10, Transport Truck, support trucks, UH-60 (GDI Commando Ops), which are really easily available, Commando. For Nod we need: M113 (I might give them an Italian Type 6614, though Or a Ratel-20), Flamethrower Infantry, Chemical Warrior, Engineer, Commando. For Libya we need: T-55, T-72, BRDM-2, Mi-24 Special vehicles will be listed later. Thanks everyone for the continued support! Special vehicles GDI: M270 MLRS, M1097 Avenger, Missile Gunboat, MCV (just as a drive-able car/truck, really), YF-23 Black Widow, F/A-18, LCAC Special vehicles Nod: M110 Howitzer, SSM Launcher (on M270 chassis), Pyradon Flame Tank, Ezekiel's Wheel Stealth Tank, MCV, unarmed transport sub (as seen in Renegade), RAH-66 Comanche (Sakura's attack helicopter in Renegade), Kamaz Transport Truck and Support trucks (fuel, repair, etc), freighter (armed), Rocket Bike (Recon Bike. Can target both air and ground targets. It's to balance out against GDI's Avenger), F-22 Raptor, C-130 (with vehicle transport capabilities). Special vehicles Libya: Scud (modified for a shorter range, smaller payload, not sure yet as to if there will be a physical change to model), BTR-60 (thinking of giving them a BTR-60, to be different from the M113. Libya does have some M113's if I remember correctly, though. Though I'm not sure if I should give Nod something else. I might give Nod a LAV or a Ratel-20 instead, for more mobility for their hit and run tactics. Thoughts? Or a TAB-77. That's a thought!), 2S3 Akatsiya (SO-152) (To counter Nod's M110), SA-9 (their anti-air capability), Mi-14, L-39, MiG-23. Any thoughts as to this special vehicle list or where I can get permission from for vehicles in this list already available? After all this, buildings! Most of these would be just for looks for devoted mission makers, however hopefully they can be enterable - if not that's fine. Great screenshots and films could be made sometime later. Anything is possible! GDI - Power Plant, Advanced Power Plant (two silos), Tiberium Refinery, Sandbags (curved semi-circles and other forms), Chain link Fences, Communications Center, Advanced Communications Center (enables Ion Cannon strikes/airstrikes, but may have a special GDI commando carry an 'Ion Cannon Strike beacon' as a throwable grenade with a long-ish delay), Guard Tower (a twin .50 cal manned by one guy), Advanced Guard Tower (looks like an air control tower, but has chaingun defenses (infantry, soft-vehicles) and missile defense (anti-air/ground)), Tiberium Silo (empty, half, full), Barracks (I can just as easily recreate this by placing two of 'barackens' addons together in-game, add a GDI flag sticking out of the side of one, and put sandbags in front, but an actual model would be more convenient. Make it look gritty too. Maybe even a camo canopy over the sandbags?), Weapons Factory, Repair Facility/Bay, Aircraft Carrier (for GDI Mediterranean operations and launching LCACs), concrete walls, Construction Yard. Nod - Power Plant, Advanced Power Plant, Tiberium Refinery, Sandbags, Concrete Walls, Chain link Fences, Construction Yard, Airfield, Communications Center, Repair Facility, Temple of Nod (with nuclear launch script), Tiberium Silo, Turret (75mm cannon 'tank turret' on a concrete base, SAM site (self-explanatory), Obelisk of Light Not sure about Libyan buildings yet. Probably going to have different 'independent' factions, as GDI and Nod both infringed on territory on all continents during the campaigns. I do need to make flags for all of them. 1 GDI flag, 2 Nod flags (CNC95 ver and then the Renegade one), 1 Libyan flag. For the Followers of Kane on Nod, there will be another special flag, probably based on the Scorpion sickle with star shown in my signature, for anything involving Nod before the war actually starts. Other: Tiberium crystals, Tiberium spore-plants, crates of Tiberium, explosive barrels, 'Prison', scientists, Visceroids, armed civilian faction. Maps/Islands: Based on CNC95 campaigns/MP and Renegade tutorial/campaign/multiplayer, otherwise the default islands would make for a great fictional operation. A Tiberium filled Nogova and Everon would be awesome! Would be fantastic for a MP coop session or a 'CNC mode', like that of Renegade's MP CNC mode where power and money assist your team, but in a much larger scale combat scenario with NPC's. You 'buy' classes/weapons/vehicles and they appear next to their respective buildings. An AI harvester collects Tiberium and returns it to the refinery.

An open letter on basic ARMA:CWA support

I too support this idea. I may be a late bloomer, but I support this game and the hardcore vets who were there at the beginning. It really is a shame Gamespy shutdown. I think that's what really hit the last nail in the coffin. If we can at least get a new master server and the un-binarized assets, that would at the very least make my day. I still have a mod I'm working on and I really need most - if not all - of the assets un-binarized. The master server will be great because I played more OFP/CWA than I have ArmA 1/2. Mainly because my laptop isn't the greatest, but mostly because there's so many things that OFP has going for it versus the later titles. It's a game practically almost everyone here can go back to and reference. It means so much to so many, including me, even though I missed the best times to have actually played it online. Plus there are so many mods, scripts, missions, and campaigns still to play...most of them with high replay value. I admit I mainly go into the editor and plop units down and have big battles, just because I can. Or if I want to test drive some vehicles. I myself am trying to help give life back into the game with my Command & Conquer theme mod (it'll get along faster if the assets were un-binarized). We do need a lot more sci-fi addons. :p My point is, the community is so devoted to this game that we make the game how we want it (and I also do play without mods sometimes, but I like playing with people as often as I can - modded or no). And if that's not loyalty, I don't know what is! So I agree with OP here and all sub sequential agreements. Peace.

  9. Awesome! I always loved the SPG-9. Big fan of recoilless weapons.

    Bundeswehr 1985 Addon

Holy, wow. That looks amazing! I'll have to make a machinima with this whole pack sometime soon.

    Bundeswehr 1985 Addon

So I know you said you'd do existing armor in 1985 schemes, but was wondering if you're including eventually an M48A2 on your list of armored vehicles? http://www.patton-mania.com/M48_Patton/M48_the_real_thing/m48a2cge.jpg Loving your stuff in any case!

    OFP videography

I have all of the permissions for what was shown, it's just I need to type them all in the list. The pack should be out soon. I'm hoping sometime this next week that I'll release the functional/playable stuff. It still is a work in progress, but it's farther along than it use to be. In-game it all feels so nostalgic. So many ideas still for it in my head. Thanks for the comments, guys.

    OFP videography

Youtube is being mean to my latest upload, so here's a backup link to it until I can get a YT link up: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/zw7qcr5fnkpwkcm/AACKf8Q36z4kTjJ-vv2P0XuKa Mods used: WW4, WW4 EXT, Tonal Redux, Brotherhood Rising (current project, since it's the main one features, but paying respects to everyone else), FlashFX 2.0 I know it's not too great, but it was fun. :D Thanks to all who helped make this mod a reality thus far. It's far from dead, but we are relaxing a bit. I'll try and upload a pack of everything that's made already (and functioning), soon. I also have to update the credits list from all the permissions given. So many things to do, but for now, kick back and relax!
  15. Yeah, ODOL Explorer tends to do that. I wish it wouldn't.
  16. Thank you, JdB, for the response. :) That would be lovely if I had an .mlod that won't mess up, because I have a texture for the rusted version I'd really like to see used. I tried a filter in Photoshop on a red star and it looks weathered and worn out. Looks really cool. It would be found like this in the editor: East ---> [C&C BR: Red Tide] Soviet Vehicles ---> Soviet Mammoth Tank That's at least how the current Mammoth Tank is found. Seems easy enough. But it's more of a 'test' unit for the expansion than anything right now as I need to fix the texture up a bit. Thanks again.
  17. Other than the mirroring on the UV, I think it looks pretty good. http://i.imgur.com/I2WbvjY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/B3Z7RPJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lFgkDvi.jpg But I'm not losing focus of Tiberian Dawn. If I can figure out what I'm doing wrong with Sapper's Mammoth, I'll show pictures of it here.
  18. I've even already thought of a simple title for the expansion, which will serve as sort of a 'prequel' to this mod. Brotherhood Rising: Red Tide Again, won't have to do really all that much regarding vehicles/units. I think Soviets with the great coats (and AK-47's) vs WWII/1950's Allied Soldiers (with M-16's) would serve well in this regard, because that was the style, really. The Allied Medium Tank, I think, will be a re-textured M60 (metallic blue-tint with Allied logos) and if I can add an extra cannon to the T-80 and give it, perhaps, a dull brown/rustic red, the Soviet Heavy Tank would be pretty much done right there. For the Allied Light Tank, I was thinking since I haven't seen an M41 Walker Bulldog available, that I might ask permission to use an M24 Chaffee that I saw (I saw a standalone one somewhere). Just glad that this project is giving me clarity of what I want as a C&C fan and I'm glad people here are showing their interest. I know there have been different full C&C based mods out there, however all those addons never got finished. This is why I'm going to release things a bit more periodically to give people more options to mess around with and create their fantasy C&C-based missions and such. Thanks for the support, everyone. :) Because of you guys, progress on this mod has been possible and steadily going. :) Edit - I contacted the admin via e-mail for the M24 Chaffee made for the Berlin 1945 mod. If anyone here is a part of that mod and can assure me that it is okay to use it, please let me know! Edit 2 - "Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently". Seems like my e-mail won't even go through. Heh. Edit 3 - I'll still use Sapper's, but for now I'm just gonna make a Soviet version of Silverhawk's (actually that way I can just have both versions and won't really have to edit Sapper's. It'll be there as an optional version).
  19. Indeed, sir. :) I always love giving people choices. I'm hoping to release another "demo" soon, with all that has been officially included (and is playable). I'll be looking forward to whatever missions people make! Although I encourage anyone to make a proper "Nikoomba's Demise" mission from the Nod campaign. Vehicle-wise/infantry-wise that I have left for the ground assault package: HMMWV (I was thinking that, maybe, the HMMWV could use a prototype "CROWS"-style system, but it'd be using the M60 instead of the M2. Not sure, though.) (GDI) Medium Tank (M1A1) (GDI) APC (M113) (GDI and Nod) Stealth Tank "Ezekiel's Wheel" (Nod) Pyradon Flame Tank (Nod) M110 Artillery (Nod) M270 MLRS (GDI) SSM Launcher (I might retexture a Scud as a temporary. I can see Nod using Scuds anyways, at least until the M270 frame is made free for use) Recon Bike (Nod) Gunboat (GDI) Hovercraft (can transport 1 HMMWV or several troops) (GDI) ---- Commandos (Black Hand, Dead 6, generic SEAL types too perhaps) Officers (GDI high ranking generals, GDI Commander, Nod Commander, official named officers from cinematic cutscenes, Libyan officers) "Flame" troops. Hoping to make a proper flamethrower trooper in which when the flame "projectile" hits the enemies, they catch on fire and run around. Kind of like the burning tank crew scripts. I hope to have the full ground packages done soon.
  20. @Apoc - This is what Silverhawk's looks like. Cannons and rockets both work and it has deploy-able 'walls' that open on the sides for infantry cover. I can see why Silverhawk originally modeled a logo circle on the sides, because of the UV Map mirroring, so ignore the GDI logo showing up on the cannons for now. I can just replace the .p3d with the packaged one again. http://i.imgur.com/lIgsmhG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ABVgZvY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/B90ni86.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4SM3EA1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4nmmd6R.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rLCjpmt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CAeUQmV.jpg I'm torn between Sapper's and Silverhawk's at this point. I'm indecisive. I might use both so that mission-makers can choose which Mammoth they'd like? I could actually use the 'Rusted' version seen here as the Soviet's Mammoth and put the 'star' on the sides and darken/modify the texture. In-case anyone wanted to toy around with 'Red Alert' stuff, because a "Red Alert" expansion will be in the works soon enough.

    WW2 Desert pack - North Afrika 1941-1943

Very nice, Spad. Love it. Definitely nice to see more naval units, to be honest. I never feel there's enough. A proper battleship or cruiser would be awesome sometime.
  22. Other than some re-texturing (not that the texture is bad, but I'm hoping to give it a more nostalgic feel regarding the color scheme. Classic tan) and some config work, the X-66 Mammoth tank will likely keep all of its already built in features. The armor stats need a major nerf. As it stands right now, it takes so many Nod Light Tanks to take it out. While yes, in the end, it will still take several Light Tanks/Nod Rocketgunners to effectively destroy one...right now it takes probably 10-20 minutes to destroy one (a bit of an exaggeration, but it's practically invincible at this rate). Thanks to Macser for the Light Buggy. So a recap: GDI - Infantry, Chinook, Orca, Mammoth Tank, Tiberium Harvester Nod - Infantry, Apache, Technical (unarmed and M2HB variant), Buggy, Light Tank, Tiberium Harvester Libyans - Infantry, Technical (unarmed and DShK variant). Edit - Thanks, Sapper! I'll give it a look!
  23. The addon pack is still underway, everyone. Just letting people know it's still alive. Hopefully I'll get some promo shots soon for everyone. I'm really excited with where the mod's been going and the progress that's been made, thanks to several helping hands. As of now, we have the following: GDI and Nod Basic Infantry additions (Crew, Medics, Rocketgunners, Pilots) Libyans, mostly led by Nikoomba (they also have technicals) Nod Light Tank (shown, but still being tweaked) and proper DPV Buggy, with Technicals being used by the Followers of Kane Orca Assault Craft (shown before, but a finalized version) Nod AH-64 Apache (shown before, but finalized) GDI Harvester was retextured GDI CH-47 Chinook (the Nod one will follow soon) http://i.imgur.com/aka3t8o.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ymNZWgQ.jpg (I just need to flip the logo) http://i.imgur.com/SLoi3Az.jpg (note, Nod troops have different helmets now. You'll be able to distinguish them better now versus their GDI counterparts) http://i.imgur.com/ZoV91q4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KMdD0dG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WlqVFYE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ulq2OHG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3aeQYLC.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6cCZ966.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QfdZi1H.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MvqRYV5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LfpgZvt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cIEnVW1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3bURVxX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BqpmwE9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JxsSphj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9Omoa0d.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3EkWzXo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DyBxQbe.jpg http://i.imgur.com/zyLE8HQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ENTyby9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ougOaEW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/AZJLiIo.jpg

Oh yes, I forgot all about that somehow. I've been meaning to get into making promo videos for things, so I think at one point I'll advertise for your desert vehicles - or at least have them shown in a trailer/music video thing sometime. If not videos, definitely stuff for the combat photography thread at least. :D
