  1. Better explosion modelling, particularly inside buildings. Shockwave effects along corridors, window and door blowouts including debris scatter plus nice crunchy and bass-heavy sound effects to go with it. The current 'pop' of a grenade exploding is just pitiful...Would help immeasurably to improve immersion in CQB. Probably a bitch to Programme, but this IS a wish list after all...
  2. Thanks everyone for the feedback, I haven't bought any hardware yet so it all is extremely helpful! SLI seems the way to go, so I'll make sure I cater for that even if I don't have the cash to get two graphics cards right away. All I want is to finally be able to play the game like it was meant to be....:) (that OPF texture mod was no joke; it gave me all of 15 FPS at the best of times on my current 2007-vintage off-the-shelf system...). Will keep you posted as to what I end up with, in case it helps another poor soul in search of the perfect ArmaII system...
  3. Hey guys, Wow, quite a thread we have here :) Seems that I have finally found the place to figure out just how much hardware I need to run this game WITHOUT having to mod it with OFP textures...:( So, quick feedback request to those in the know: How do you recon ArmaII will run on this: i5-2500K Geforce GTX 560 Ti 8 GB DDR3-1333-RAM 120-GB-SSD Am not so wise on SLI, so how much would a second GTX 560Ti help? Any feedback would be appreciated Cheers, Firefokker

    Implement - Arma II battlerecorder

A proper recorder would not only be good to catch cheaters, but in general would bring a shedload of advantages if properly implemented! Nevermind all the stunning visuals you could grab from any perspective after a big and memorable shootout; for post-mission analysis and tactics tweaking this sort for thing would be invaluable I'd imagine. Ideal would be something like one of the many replay functions you get with Flight Sims: The full set of fast/slow forward and rewind; being able to have the camera shadow any unit on the ground or in the air (1st & 3rd person), as well as a free-camera to roam around the battlefield. However, looking at BF2's pitiful Battlerecorder (no rewind for starters) I guess that this sort of thing is technically challenging or even undoable for 1st person shooters; the amount of data to store would probably phenominal for ARMA2., even if everything is rendered by the game engine on the fly like Cri74 suggests above. Still, could any Dev please comment on this thread to let us know IF anything recorder-like is in the pipeline? Cheers!
  5. Hm, For the the following works each time: - Talk to Marine officer and LT. Marny in the main base - Follow Marny's hint and fly to Staroye - Help to defend the village and talk to NAPA contact - Fly to Power Plant in Electrozavodsk and talk to the janitor - Fly to Solnichniy and talk to some locals, they will point you to the quarry. Bardak is in the quarry with three of his goons. I found it easiest to take them out from the quarry top with the sniper, and then storm the quarry itself. Keep running after Bardak when he tries to flee, and eventually the cut scene where Cooper shoots him in the leg and calls for a pick up will start, thus ending the mission successfully. Hope this helps...

    Armour Commander Turret de-spin?

Whoa, the frame rate went up from 16 FPS to a whooping 24! People with quad-cores and cryo-cooled graphics cards are going to laugh their arses off at the sheer patheticness of it...but I am happy as a pig in s**t.

    Armour Commander Turret de-spin?

That link is a proper treasure trove for useful mods, including some very nifty ones for performance tweaking for those of us not blessed with high-spec gaming machines . (Am reduced to playing on VERY LOW setting, and almost cried with envy when I watched the Arrowhead trailer yesterday...Luckily I am old enough to remember the C64 days so I can live with shitty graphics if I get good gameplay...but man it hurts. Any millionaires out there who feel like donating a quad-core, 8 Gigs of Ram and a graphics card to suit?) Thanks again for pointing out the PROPER site Tankbuster!

    Armour Commander Turret de-spin?

Brilliant, just what I was after! Thanks a lot pal!
  9. Hi, Am new to these forums to cut me a little slack please if I seem to ask some obvious / daft questions (I'm sure ARMA 2 has it's very own touchy subjects like the 'Fastropes' and 'Ragdoll Physics' threads that regularly drive the Project Reality devs mad, and I'm sure I'll put my foot right into those here too.). I DID try to search for the following problem, with no results... Anyway, on to the point of this thread: A pretty major drawback when commanding armour is the fact that the commander's turrest doesn't have an automatic de-spin, so if you assign a target and the gunner obediently swings the turret around, the commander's view gets shifted from the observed target. Not really good in a firefight if you suddenly look into the opposite direction from where the action is... Any idea if this can/will be fixed? Cheers.
