  1. Now in my seventies, ARMA nicely balanced the gardening duties, ........................till last week! Steam tells me I spent 45 hours playing Operation Arrowhead in various flavours last week, with a new account that was started to check out a dedicated sever, not one hour of playing was managed. At least most you have a router to play with as opposed to my WIMAX port forwarding issues, Anyway big thanks to RN_Max for softening the madness.
  2. Delighted to download the two AGS packs, a wee bit dissapointed in the quality especially the lack of enterable buildings plus I have found the ramp/stairs in powerplant section 2 is very buggy. Nevertheless a big thank you, they fairly crisp up the skyline, and mix so well with MBG killhouse material

    Hell in the Pacific MOD

Oh the nostalgia. I made so many missions in OFP using Wake Island, I have missed it more than any other terrain. It was a perfect size for compact tense missions. Look forward to its release, although I hope the vegetation will not make the AI to formidable.
  4. After years of hanging on to OFP I am so pleased with Operation Arrowhead I have at last wiped my hard drive of all OFP files. Only gripe is the directory structure in my Arma2 folder. [with mods[4gig] 19.3 gig in total] As my tipple is Lan games I am tempted to use only an AO install and put all the patched Arma 2 addons plus Dta into @Arma2 folder. At this moment in time I have not looked at the 8 gigsworth in old official Arma2 addons and compared them with the "Common" folder, but preumably at least 3 gig must now be reundant Question, is there a combined restuctured Gold Edition in the pipeline? I would happily buy it as a template, rather than waste a weekend tinkering with my server and three computers. ...When I could be playing!
  5. I am one of the lucky ones that had boxed versions of Arma2 and OA which combined perfectly. The bad news is I spent last night unpacking my favourite missions which no longer work, and deleting ACE content etc. For my own Lan Game needs it looks like the easiest route is just to use a stand alone version of OA [ the inbuilt mod laucher is a great addition] and make all Arma2 content a simple mod folder. I am not a happy bunny regarding the new comlexity of having to deal with multiple CBA updates. One thing that does need to said is the expansion is worth every penny and finally manys gigswoth of OFP can be removed from my hard drives . As a game playing experience OA is top of the pile.
  6. I suspect if you copied the contents of the OA folder and pasted it into your arma folder then deleted the original OA folder all would be well. Mine happened automatically .
  7. Although the boxed versions seem to merge perfectly [albeit with checking the Program Files (86) problem] There are minor issues like using mod launchers ie "error compiling pixel shader PSSpecular Alpha:0" which presumably the poor devils wrestling with steam will have as their next encounter. Is there a suitable thread for Post Merging niggles?
  8. Thanx, that makes sense, although tempted to have two seperate installs with each as mods in the other.
  9. I have the DVD version of Arma 2 installed, the DVD version of OA has arrived. If I install it will friends without OA installed be able to play my Arma 2 "pure" MP missions online? Sorry if this is the wrong place, but it is merging related.
