same on for our usual sunday night clan night and none of us 10+ can run the game. Its like a time bomb and its stopped working, im running retail copy, some are running steam version. Just doesnt work, click on icon then windows stopped responding for all of us. Removing mods etc makes no difference

    Codemasters Guildford Studio to close!

Shame about the devs losing their jobs. Hope Sion Lenton never gets another job in the gaming industry however.
  3. yeah if I could get a steady 30 fps i would be happy. Just insurgency maps are just unplayable for me. Theres like this cap at 26, drops down to 17 when moving in villages, but never goes above 26 fps. Changing any of the ingame settings from low/off to very high makes no difference, still stays at 26 fps. Its weird, just no idea whats causing it.
  4. Many thanks for your reply Pen. Tried those changes but with no success. Think it probably is my cpu/memory holding me back. Guess its time to upgrade at the end of this month, think I will get an intel i5 cpu and board and some ddr3 memory. Got about 45-50 fps in the bf3 alpha but with a new upgrade should do even better.
  5. My current setup is: AMD x4 955BE, Ati Radeon xfx 6870 BE 1GB 8GB 6400 DDR2 Ram Windows 7 64Bit, With ingame settings set to High, AA (and that other thing ive forgotten set to off) and vsync disabled. When playing any of the single player elements I get incredible fps 60-120 fps when flying about etc.Game looks lush and great. But when in multiplayer it starts off at around 30 fps, lowering down to 19-25fps when in towns and then seems to stick or be capped at 25/26 fps. My question is this normal for my setup? Changing any of the settings to low etc makes no difference whatsoever.People i speak to ingame say they get 40+ fps etc with poorer cpu and graphics card .Does anyone have any suggestions why I am having this problem?
  6. my cpu is the AMD Phenom II X4 955 AM3 alrdy running at 3.2 GHz. http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/CPUs+%2F+Processors/AMD+Phenom+II/AMD+Phenom+II+X4+Quad+Core+955+Black+Edition+125W+C3+%28Socket+AM3%29+Processor+-+Retail+?productId=39930&source=googleps Thanks for your help anyway, i will look at a new VC in the next month.

  9. also works out cheaper buying Arma2/OA seperately than Combined operations.
  10. fantastic deals, and just after i had bought BAF aswell lol. No excuse for me picking up PMC now.
  11. yeah its a Phenom II 955 I have. Thanks fo the info bud,I shall look at a new VC in the new year.
  12. hey guys, hope this is the right topic to post this in. I have just come back to playing Arma2 :OA and have bought the BAF addon which is fantastic I have to say. Well done to those involved. I have a question about upgrading my PC. Current set up is : AMD 955 CPU radeon 1GB 4890 VC 8GB DDR2 800 Memory Giga-Byte M720-US3 Motherboard. My question is that I have around £160 to upgrade my PC so that Arma runs nice at all settings at Highest. Do i splash out on a new Graphics card 5870+ etc or do i upgrade my motherboard so that it can take DDR3 memory?(buying the memory aswell ofcourse)

  14. Sion couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery! I dont have the slightest bit of interest in anymore games from Codemasters. To treat customers they way they did just wasnt good enough and they havent even apologised for it, admitted the game was broken and beyond repair. Couple of months ago i was told by Aria ( PC components company in the UK) that i would be receiving a special gift as i have a trade account and buy alot of parts for the business. I was like oooh nice, wonder what i would get. In with the box was a leaflet to use on Steam for a full copy of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising , I was like wtf, are they taking the piss. I actually phoned them up and complained, yes sad i know, aria apologised, posted me out a 2GB usb pen which i was much happier in getting :-) True story
