WIP: Stuff you are working on 2!
Devil Dogs SF replied to max power's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I found this, although maybe it was varying in uniforms in '93. http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?58107-Rangers-in-Somalia-Restore-Hope-Gothic-Serpent-1993 -

Devil Dogs SF replied to max power's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Didn't Rangers in Somalia 1993 have DCU with BDU kevlar vest? -
Do you think you'll add some flag markers for Afrene and Molatia IceBreakr?

Chopper spawns in air

Hmmm...So there is no way to state the special? (ie: In formation, Flying, None...) -
Chopper spawns in air
Devil Dogs SF replied to Devil Dogs SF's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
It spawns taking off, but I'd just like it to stay grounded. Whether or not the rotors are still moving I don't care as long as it is on the ground. -

US buildings project
Devil Dogs SF replied to Fox '09's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Speaking of a military building, how about a one or two story recruiting station? Glass door and large glass windows with different signs promoting the US Army, Marines, Navy and Airforce. Inside have several rooms for each branch being a mix of an office and waiting room. -
How to damage objects
Devil Dogs SF replied to Eagle7421's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
You could try "setdamage 1" http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setDamage -
They did it when I set them to blue. The enemy was behind several hills and two towns away, so I know they couldn't possibly have been reacting to the enemy, but everytime I previewed they went nuts and searched houses and the nearby M113 began patrolling. Maybe they took the civies spawning with ALICE to be enemies?

[OA]Tier One Operators V3.x (now with heavies!)
Devil Dogs SF replied to mcnools's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Using it with the description.ext it worked, or at least I think it did as my character had a nice black beard haha. I'll be trying it on other units like default Deltas. -

Alright, I'll try that. Thanks for the addon. :D -
[OA]Tier One Operators V3.x (now with heavies!)
Devil Dogs SF replied to mcnools's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
What are the names of the faces so we can use them in our missions if you don't mind telling? I have one mission I'm about 90% complete with and I'd like to use these. -
New to hostage scripting

That worked great. Thanks. -
New to hostage scripting
Devil Dogs SF replied to shammy2010's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
So what is the line in activation which makes the unit go in your group and fight just like a normal soldier in the group? I've tried "pilot dofollow delta1", "pilot joinassilent ["Savior"]", "pilot join ["Savior"]" amd "pilot in ["Savior"]". What would it be? "5 > (delta1 distance pilot)" activates everything else in the trigger except making the hostage go in my group. -
helicopter support
Devil Dogs SF replied to fighterman's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
The noob way of doing it is placing the chopper then placing another waypoint very close which is sync'd to a trigger activated on Radio Alpha. Then place the other waypoints in the locations you want. It isn't as efficient as a script or anything but it works if you just want some (very) simple support. -
New to hostage scripting
Devil Dogs SF replied to shammy2010's topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Isn't there a way of setting it up in a trigger where when you are a certain distance away (2 or 5 metres or so) then the hostage goes into your group? I myself am interested in an answer to the OP question. -

ACE 1.5 Beta (Advanced Combat Environment)
Devil Dogs SF replied to xeno's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
^ It's a BETA, I'm sure those will be re-added. -
Which AI .pbo makes the units be so aware? I am making a mission but in the FOB I have set up the units are all jumpy, checking houses for no reason and leaving posts. The enemy are not exactly close, or at least not close enough for them to go apeshit. I've tried setting their combat mode to blue and disableAI move but they still go nuts. I really love this but I'd just like to figure out which pbo makes the AI do this.

Harvest Red vs. Eagle Wing vs. OA Campaign
Devil Dogs SF replied to Takko's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Harvest Red for me also. I felt it was really realistic in what you do (Not everything was blowing up everything you see and killing 50,000 enemies) and the world and story was highly immersive. Only downfalls in the campaign was the funny voices and as much as I liked the realism, the realism made it boring at times (ie: Driving across Chernarus in search of one tiny camp buried deep in the woods), but other than that it was great.
