  1. Bloody loving this - I've been making missions for the last 10 years for Ghost Recon and Arma2 and this is just so easy. Don't need to spend weeks building missions just throw in a couple of objectives, add some opfor and let the boys at 'em.
  2. Yes I noticed it too. I still remember the arma2 demo when there was extreme popping. It's come a long long way and is a seamless transition now. Gr8 work BIS

Concerns regarding ArmA III overall feel.

My biggest gripe for infantry controls at present is the clunkiness of shifting between stances. It does detract from the immersion when you have to fiddle with too many key presses to assume certain stances. I don't like shifting to a 3rd person view ever but I feel I have to at times to work out what stance I am currently in. Other then that it seems like a modified Arma2.

    Driving horrible...

Not sure if it's just me but I found the driving pretty bad. Engine sounding like its revving hard but no torque at all. Screeching tires when vehicle starting or slowing - it's not that easy to squeal tires irl. Handling worse than Arma 2. Interested in others opinions on this. Yes the interiors looked better and the hands turned - they were the positives.

    Arma 3 first impressions

my first impressions is it seems a lot more fluid, have to get used to all the different run and stance modes. island is nice to look at and hard to spot opfor so should be a good challenge. only doing a quick test tonite but so far - seems positive. one issue - (which i thought had been fixed) where you go prone on a slope or a rock and it then forces you to stand back up. ---------- Post added at 01:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:40 AM ---------- framerates are as good as Arma 2.

ARMA 3 - still unrealistic optics

@ Chortles Why not do a poll on the preferred optics options to see what the majority prefer. You seem to have a good grasp of what the choices look like.

    Arma 3 plans for 2013

But miss future dlc. It's not that simple. On a side note, I'm getting married 30 march so I told fiancé she will have to share me with my other love or she could pull out now. :)

    Arma 3 plans for 2013

Of course I will b buying this but I question putting arma x and arma: Cold War into it. Why would we go back and play those when most of us probably already have it. Or is it optional to Ccept those downloads?

ARMA 3 - still unrealistic optics

been watching this thread for a while and of the options above, i prefer: Fake 3d scope + multiplied draw distance

Things to do before ARMA III is released!

My things to do list before Arma 3 is released: Look at CPU/RAM upgrade. Look at Monitor Upgrade. Look at GPU Upgrade. And most importantly: Say Goodbye to the family and tell them I love them while I'm away in Lemnos :D

    Will You Use the Cross-hairs?

No crosshair is not realistic, the same as full crosshair is not. The minimal crosshair is a good middle ground to provide some feel of where the gun is aimed which you would have irl.

    Ghost Recon: Podagorsk

sp and coop on Armaholic and not doing any Arma at the moment although i built 2 new coop missions but havent released them

    Ghost Recon: Podagorsk

@Numrollen Glad you enjoyed and thanx for the feedback :) Since creating that campaign I have come up with a plan for future campaigns that would give all players a feel for what each mission means plus intel and surveillance shots to set the scene. Always a few Arma bugs :)

Do you want Laaagdoll Physics in ArmA 3?

I'm going to say only 2 things here: 1. Your poll is poorly created with too many confusing options - maybe you need to plan better before you create one. 2. At least the poll did capture the fact that the vast majority seem to like ragdoll physics.

    Surviving a helicopter crash

What if you wanted to apply it to all players in the chopper and then remove it from all players after the crash?

    Surviving a helicopter crash

What is the future of this franchise?

Again I say slow burn. Ppl who play cods get bored of the game over time.

New anti-aliasing algorithm TXAA, Arma 3 potential?

without knowing a great deal about technicalities of graffix cards I can say that I agree with this...def the best look Ive seen in Arma2.

What is the future of this franchise?

I'd agree with this - Arma interest fanbase is growth by slow burn. A lot of young players like the twitchy run n gun games and I must say I enjoy them too at times to play with my son for a bit of fun. But he is way twitchier then this 40 year old and kicks my ass most of the time. But over time, like me after I got sick of playing MP for the 1000th game, I found something new in the slower pace of COOP with no respawns. Life ingame suddenly had meaning, errors had dire consequences (wait 30-40 minutes for the mission you f*ed up in to end and watch the rest carry on with out you before you get another opportunity in the next mission). They will come slowly over time and once they arrive they will never leave because they will finally understand what realistic FPS means.

    Jungle Wars: Island of Lingor

I want to add one comment - not to be taken as criticism but just as a comment. :) Looking at Lingor now particularly around the area below the radar to the north - one of the things that made Lingor special in my opinion was the amount of jungle. Now it's becoming residential. I can understand why so many people want to buy land in this paradise but too much built up urban area is a threat to Lingor imho. There comes a point when you just have to stop construction on the island or Lingor will be lost. ---------- Post added at 11:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:58 PM ---------- Why do I raise this point now? Bcoz I want to do a Behind Enemy Lines type mission where you crash land in middle of the jungle and have to find your way back out to your choice of a few friendly zones on the map by foot. But its getting hard to find remote wilderness now.

    Combat Medical System

Love the work and don't take notice of the haters if there r any. Most of those r he same bunch who never actually produce anything themselves for the community.
  25. For me, not that I play PVP anymore, but I think the CQB and fluid movement through buildings is critical for Arma3. Easy enough to set up the 'maps' or playing area but if the movement feels cumbersome it will fail to draw in players.
