  1. Yea, Unless they sort out the 4 man coop thing its really gonna be a joke and a half. They remove PvP to "enhance" the COOP, we still get the old FTE' stuff and the 4 man fireteam junk again.

Budapest beat Paris with 70 billion Pixels

Yea, looking for something thats the same colour as the rest of the image from the top half upwards isn't helpful... :D
  3. lol? Im not feeding anyone bullshit. Infact I just said Can we stop this stupid argument between the two..... Incase you didn't realise I play both. Helios is the Community Manager, Sion is the one in charge of RR, I've never said either of them are good at their jobs. Just stating facts. I say the same on CM's Forums, Stop this argument, and just be happy playing both. God sakes, its not as if RedRiver is gonna get close to being the realism of ArmA series. Heck, I still play the original ColdWarCrisis because its just that good of a game. So please, don't say I suck up to Sion and Helios just because I like playing DR as I do ArmA.

Budapest beat Paris with 70 billion Pixels

    Thats a bit hard... :p
  5. If you wanted to know that. Just look at the current list of ins/outs on CM's forum... http://community.codemasters.com/forum/general-discussion-1335/421691-ofp-rr-super-sticky-update-07-08-a.html And Helios' thread (Helios = Community Manager for CodeMasters) http://community.codemasters.com/forum/general-discussion-1335/421981-operation-flashpoint-red-river-officially-announced.html
  6. Why sign up to 2 forums just to b1tch? -= EDIT =- I just say, Who likes DR let them play, Who likes ARMA2 let them play. Stop the moaning and bitching between the two. They are both better than Mw2, They both beat games like HALO... If people cannot afford computers to play ArmA II, or Prefer the Infantry battles in DR, then let them. Does it matter to YOU that people play it? Its their choice.... Can we just stop this stupid argument between the 2 games. And just let it settle.

    Arma D3dx9_30.dll

The problem is the game can't find d3dx9_30.dll on your computer. Try downloading that file manually and placing in into your system32 folder.
  8. Mentioning "that other game" and its missions isnt the best idea on the forums. Use the mission editor and place down a ACM......

Best way to "clear house" AI?

The AI is pretty bad in CQB, BIS really need to rethink how the AI works when under 20-30 meters from the enemy. A "stack up" command would be really helpful, I can't recall the ammount of times ive just wanted the AI to line up behind me. Whethers its a stealth mission, CQB, or just running about in battle near buildings.

    improvment for the missioneditor

The A2 mission editor has not been too user friendly since day 1. And I doubt it will change. Its easy to use, and can create fun missions quickly and simply. Thats what it was designed to do, and it does it.
  11. Getting the whole building system in general worked into the FSM would be better than our half-arsed scripting attempts at something that can be done 20x better through the AI's FSM
  12. Theres only 2 types of games Voice Commands are worth. Flight Simulators, for AWACS, Wingmen and Radio Towers. And for Military Simulators, for your squad, teammates and high-command. Neither seem to get them.
  13. Thats OFDR's limitations. And I don't get what you mean by Where tanks are drived, gunned and commanded by only 1 unit? and with no possibilities to change behavior multiple times... Plus, coding everything isnt so bad. Since OFDR uses lua, which is very much alike to other languages its easy to pick up. Just the game doesn't complement the editor. ArmA III needs a proper full editor, like OFDR's, except without OFDR attached to it, and its limitations.
  14. Yea, OFDR may not be a simulator, but its still much better than say COD. If i had to pick between Mw2 and OFDR, I would go for OFDR. But obviously, I would go for ArmA II over everything, if only my computer could run ArmAII as it can OFDR. :(
  15. They will probs cock it up. Guess who was put in charge. Sion Lenton.... Its going down-hill for sure. Unless codemasters gets their act together, puts devs on the forum and go all out. Its not even going to be worth the OFP name, like Dragon Rising was.
  16. I find the OFDR editor a brilliantly simple tool. Yet, allowing you to script very simpy too, from within the editor. Ive had much experience with both editors, and overall I do prefer the OFDR one. Anyways, offtopic a bit. Did you know codemasters is making a new OFP?? I wonder if they cock this one up too And yes, simpler flight mechanics isnt good. ArmA really needs to have some kind of "flight mode" for when flying, like make everything on ground have really low LOD when up high. And give you a long, clear draw distance. So airbattles are much better. At the moment they are lacking. What ArmA III really needs, is when you go above XXX meters, the area below you is almost totaly gone, you can just see contours in ground and the colour, plus any dense cities, but you get very very long drawdistance and blue skies, so its much better for flying. But, I will stick to Lock On when I want to fly a plane. :p
  17. Ok, before anyone bashes me for this. I am very used to the arma2 editor dating back to CWC working with the original OFP editor. But it really does need some features that ofpdr editor did have. The game was pretty bad and we all were hoping for more, forget the game. But the editor is a very strong part of it. Belive me, you have alot more options over the mission without scripting in OFDR editor than you do ArmA II Editor. The only problem with the OFDR editor is how complex it can be to start out with. Which is a major downfall. Basicly, both mission editors are good. Even though ArmA II is a better game, OFDR certainly has a higher-grade editor.
  18. Yes balancing isn't what we are concerned about in this game. As said, its the missions that need to make use of the tools provided by each faction and make a decision making the mission balanced for both teams, and not having to change the game.

I want this game badly now. :(

    Settings for 6-core cpu?

6 cores beats my dual core.
  21. Hey, is there a script editor with the sytax highlighting and comand highlighting for sqf language? I did a quick search, came up with nothing. If this has already been discussed or done, please re-direct me to that page.
  22. After skimming through the threads, no offence, but some of you are very ungrateful. BIS are not only making kick-a** games, they are doing so very efficiently, releasing mod tools, downloadable content and fixing up bugs on a daily basis. Then, leaving trust in us. Not only that, the CEO is here posting, and yet, some of you are still not happy. So im just going to say, go on BIS; everything looks awsome! I just don't like the way the ammount of money im gonna have to spend is pilling up... lol :(

    Blurrrrr

I think the blur is to simulate a humans FOV.
  24. Yes, ive been scripting a few languages for a bit of a while. And SQF syntax just threw me first go. :(
  25. Hey, i want to start making my own mods. (sorry if this is in wrong place, but i couldnt think of anywhere else this should go) Anyway, i want to change the interface about. But i wouldnt know how. Does anyone here know any good turorials or something. Ive looked through the forums, and search engines, and OFPEC. but couldnt find any tutorials on this. So any help would be apprechiated. :)
