    [COOP] Zenophon's Mini Co-op Missions Pack

    The 2 player co-op... snipe the HVT Camped the helicopter for a looong time. Watched various enemy patrols move about, never saw HVT appear. Helo never took off but mission failed. Don't believe were were ever spotted. It just abruptly ended in failure. We closed to within 600m to the east-southeast of the airstrip, on the hillside. What happened?

    Thanks for the change log info. Not a dev branch user myself (I wish it worked like the beta builds of ArmA II and not require an update thru Steam to switch back and forth).

    Searching on Zeus and bipod has yeild no result either here or on Google... Sitrep: clean launch, no mods, helo and marksman DLC. Here's the problem. Where are the Bipods? When in Zeus mode and filling an ammo box with specified content, bipods are not in the items or accessories section. I see a selection of weapons that come with the bipod as default but I cant find it as a single item to add to a crate. Even the crate that does have ONE (how about 5???) of them when you place it (supply box), when I edit its contents, the bipod is not there. Crates placed with the editor that I add Arsenal to have no such issue as Arsenal does have the item selectable. It's just that Zeus placed crates with game master specified content do not. Am I missing something? Is this just the way it is? Will the bipod be eventually added to the accessories tab of a Zeus custom box load out?

  6. Ideas... Transport modules that have engine off options. As far as I can tell, the AI will continue to let the engine run in a transport vehicle once destination way-point has been reached. It be nice to have an engine off option (aside from hijacking the pilot and doing it yourself)... and a simpler one click system esp for helo's. And.... I know some feel these are gimicky but... Fast ropes HALO/Paradrop
  7. Would I be mistaken in thinking that regardless of a maps inclusion in Anvil that a mission could simply be ported to a different map and the markers arranged as appropriate? Reason I ask is because to this point, I have been merging a map template mission (base arrangement and such) with my anvil missions. I guess I'll just give it a try but I cant think of any reason that the framework would balk at simply utilizing another map.

  9. Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of enemy convoy. I'll put up Isla Duala and Panthera maps if you are interested in adding them to the list. Speaking of EOS, you were wondering about an alternative... Team up with Zenophon or F3?
  10. Granted this does not fall under the perview of EOS.... but how about a convoy mission type? I love EOS, made a lot of missions with it but it is limited to a fixed location conflict. Just an idea.
  11. Challenge accepted. I'll give the 2^n idea a run and see what happens. I have no clue what an ImageBrush is. I'm quite embarrassed that I do not know how to script/code much.... and I really should be able to because it would be a professional boon for me. I just haven't put in the time or effort. I did Fortran77 and Pascal back in the 90's and then never had a great use for it any more. ---------- Post added at 03:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:46 PM ---------- The 2^n idea with a little bit of extra image tweaking "improves" the situation. Idea for interface improvement.... the rose colored bar at the top.... when the map is zoomed this bar is wiped out by the image leaving the icons at the top right well camouflaged. Can you make it so that the bar is not dominated by the map? I know I am just being picky now but that's the kind of thing that lets you know you are really getting somehwere.
  12. Thanks again Mecharius... Question about improving map appearance... The moire effect that is seen with the grid lines in the editor... I don't see this in my photo editing programs... but those are specialized programs for just that. Is it possible for me or other map providers to improve the quality of maps to alleviate it or is this an effect that is an unavoidable rendering limitation? And yes to the above stream.... just to see how you do things compared to how I stumble through it.
  13. @ djotacon... I was able to get all download maps without an issue. User specific problem, maybe? @ mecharius... am I missing something in the instruction to get the MCN maps I have self generated working within Anvil? I looked at your github source and don't see them in the map definitions.
  14. I will honor Mecharius' decision not to release the maps by not distributing them, either. If anyone knows how to get in contact with McNools to get his permission, please do so. Thank you, Mecharius, for your efforts. This utility has added greatly to swift mission creation and broadened the scope of ArmA game play.
  15. Every forum he uses that I know of has no posting activity since March or April of 2014 (with his known pseudonyms, at least). Robalo has him as a friend and perhaps communicates with him in other ways so I querried him about McN's whereabouts. Sadly, I think he went off the grid, so to speak. My two favorite maps, too. Well... we just wait then.
  16. Just out of curiosity, aside from common courtesy, why permission from map makers? The maps provided are simply in game representations of their works and not a derivative.

  18. When you use the cheat do you get a quick flash of a black box with some note about topograhy mode enabled? After you see that box, hit M to bring up the map. My output was in c:/ CF is available for A3?!?!?.... or does it just work with AiA?
  19. lets go smallish for addition #1. I do not know what exactly your expectations are of map quality and the output we get from using the cheat is locked in. I can't change it. I think for mission creation purposes its fine but its certainly coarse compared to the vector format presented in game. I've decided to go old school... Utes. great for incursions by low player counts. More to follow as you care to handle them. DropBox link PM'd.
  20. The cheat code works fine for me. How can I help? AiA pretty much all output into EMF format. Shapur for whatever reason outputs at LEGO block resolution (what happened to vector???). Its bad. The rest are very good.
  21. Thank you for your efforts. Is there anything we users can do to help you expand map availability? Not capable of much more than grunt work, myself... but if that helps. With the availability of all the classic maps (AiA) there is certainly a want of this.

Unfortunately I have nothing more to send besides the above because I scrapped the entire folder and restored the original archive... so no more problems AND no more logs. Thank you for the explanation of EOS implementation. I didn't realize that the implementation was more of an integration.
  23. Anvil has ceased to function. Has been working fine for weeks and now it will not launch at all. last thing I remember doing was looking at the include script thingy and seeing what it was all about and then hitting cancel. Since then, crashes on start every time. I see something about that include script bit at the start of this log file. Deleting my previous Anvil folder and unpacking the downloaded archive resolved the issue but this is certainly something to address. This is a fantastic utility that BI needs to adopt from the author (as well as BangaBob) and implement at game editor level.... It's that useful. Now for the nit picking... any chance you can expand the utility of your EOS implementation to include the level of control that can be had over EOS, including bastion functionality? 2014-12-06 Dropping a box directly with Zeus, cant get any easier than that.

    Same issue. Is the box supposed to be loaded or are we supposed to load it when placing. Any I place with Zeus are empty and all attempts to load it fail.
