  2. Enough said in the description. Manuals should cover most aspects of the game, offer pointers and what-not. The current manual is pretty useless.

  5. Oh, I assumed that it did. Usually, threads like this turn into exactly that arguement, post deleted. Also, the way you move in A2 is unbelievably unnatural.

    What I meant was that the last time I checked, it was common knowledge that editor placed objects and vehicles counted as cover.
  8. I always disliked that the Marines advantages over Guerillas were never really properly simulated. How come they don't have body armor, why can't they run farther than the civilians (PT training)? I think that force-specific attributes given in training should be simulated, such as only the Marines or Russians having the clear declaration of enemies and what not, or perhaps the Guerillas have trouble with formations or covering each other? I found it quite unrealistic to have Marines and Guerillas evenly matched in combat performance.

    Bohemia Interactive's future ARMA 3!

    I would really like BI to up their game on realism and functionality of weapons, such as sighting in snipers or resting MGs. Also, a brutalized experience would work great, A2 feels a tad too... clean.

    This truly makes 2010 the end of an era for both the civilian and military versions of the Hummer. The U.S. Army announced earlier this month that it would no longer order Humvees, and would instead turn to the armored MRAPs that have proven more resistant to roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. But the Army still plans to keep its existing Humvees in service, according to DOD Buzz -http://www.popsci.com/cars/article/2010-02/end-era-gm-will-close-hummer-brand I hope that BI has started on making that MRAP model...

    Well, A2 is a simulator. As IEDs are a big threat, shouldn't they be included in the A series?
  15. How about we finally get some modern gaming conventions in A2? How about a better LOD switching system or at least a grass layer? How about some sort of detail on the weapons, rather than saying bullet drop is all it takes to fire a weapon? While the game does definitely have heights, it really needs more work on the plateaus. I just want to have you guys know that I love the series and would hate to see one of the last free thinkers in gaming fail.

    ArmA II and money's worth.

    I paid for a product that I like and want to like more. What is wrong withtrying to get my money's worth? Sure, I can make my own content but then I want part of the money I paid to BI back. I have found that any attempt to improve my experience by voicing my thoughts is met by a maelstrom of "TROLL LOL!!!" and other negative comments. I mean like, I did pay for something, I'm not asking for something for nothing here. Please remember this before calling someone a troll for asking for a new feature. That "TROLL LOL!!!" paid $50 to Bohemia and in return wants a product in return. He will want to get the most out of his money.
  17. Sure, it may be a big map. It is however, an extremely repetitive and detail-sparse landmass. Reasonable $50: Something that is unique but functions well or better. A2 is unique, but it really needs to function better as a whole.

    At the end of the day, no matter how small the team is, no matter how indie, how hardcore or how dedicated you are Bohemia... You are still a company. Companies release quality products at the time of purchase, not after literally years of patches.
  19. I would like to see low grass, no just low plants. I mean... actual grass, not just a texture. Also, it would be nice if low plants drew at >500 meters, preferably by some setting. I would like to see the LODs switch out at much further distances, or at least be able to not look horrible at 75 meters. Yes, the system does work fine but its still a pretty horrible system. I would like to see weapons that have their RL features better matched, rather than just bullet drop simulated. These include: 1. Dispersion. Its really not that much to ask. 2. Some sort of way to dial in sniper shots, again somewhat simple. 3. Better weapon textures, and feel. For example, look at the M16 and M4SPR weapons, the effect used on those guns make them look horrible. For feel, try an A1 M16 vs A2 M16, they removed a setting I can't think of at the moment. I think that the games went from "back of head" to "front of head" controlling. 4. The scopes for weapons need to match the weapons attributes such as range and what-not. 5. Just a few types of ammo, like LR or tracer round mags. Also, some minor details such as shot for shotguns and hopefully an Ironsight M16A4. Also, to those complaining of my own lack of some skill making my own experience. I paid for a product that I like. I paid for a finished game, not a really really good set of tools. What is wrong with me trying to get my money's worth? Sure, I can make my own weapons, but then I want part of the money I paid to BI back. I mean like, I did pay for something, I'm not asking for something for nothing here.

  22. While many who have lower performing PCs will not want texturing at this level, some sort of option would be appreciated. Its fun to quickly look at the entire map in-editor and pick an interesting region for a battle with ease.
