In reallife without cover you can make your own cover with bullets, hit the dirt and hide behind your bullets. But you should have a squad with you, a single shooting guy wouldnt scare the enemy. -

just go to your serverlist and sort by players, then watch the full and half populated servers. thats it -
The new pics looking great, nice to see some landscape cover and little terrain hills and ditches near the roads. I would wish someone take a map like the big 6000km² dessert map and put the diffrent usermaps together in a big single map. In the middle a big town and on the coast quest kribul, then those afghan village and helmand on a landy area and finally six alik somwwhat for the mountains between connected with roads. (just dreaming)

But it isnt played, and the other variants are much better balanced than the bis one. -
Some things should need more than 1 or 3 players to get done, then the teamwork will come along. Watch project reality for example, there most things only can be done with more ppl, and the teamwork on public servers is great. Special weapons only avaiable for groups etc, building sttuff only with help. Restricted arsenal and a fear for dead doing the rest. no more 1 man armies with sniper + javelins, no teleporting and such shitshould help too. Its all in the hand of the missionmaker, not the players.

try bennys warfare, its the most played variant with full servers around. its balanced and almost bugfree -

Try ace warfare (CTI gamemode) HOW TO PLAY WARFARE Its mixed pvp coop, with basebuilding, buying equipment and teammates. And you fight all over the map in almost all towns for checkpoints and bunkers against civillians and the enemy army(players + squads). There should be always a few servers up with warfare, its 32 ppl game 16 vs 16 and each can recruit 12 so its a 208 vs 208 + 3rd party AI game. Try ace mod with war fx mod and chammys soundmod.

Its not a game problem, i played much bennys ace warefares for hours without crash and i dont have a superfast pc. Just Athlon x2 6000 2gb ati 4870 1000 I can play for hours edit, i saw you ment the sp part, i thought you mean mp. disregard all sry -
Arma2 isnt a game with multiplayer gamemodes, its a big editor with everybody can make his own gamemode. The vanilla arma gamemodes are not played anymore, you find much others. Check Bennys Warfare for mixed pvp/coop, its similar to superpowers but less buggy and more stable. otherwise there is ASS (bf2-project reality conquest), ctf, some realwar scenarios, a million coop gametypes and much much more. check armaholic p.s. you should use a addon sync program like YOMA or SIX updater to keep your mods up to date for online playing (i prefer yoma, you have much more mods avaiable over it)

What a boring map, only flat area, no ditches, no sandhills, nothing. Better get a nice dessert map for arma2, and with ace, warfx and stuff its better than vbs in my eyes. AND you can play online without problems...

Im sure he did his best and effort a lot of work for the community. Yeah thats good, but thats my impression. I play since arma 1 with chammys mod, and the best of it were listening to the firefights around you. No other soundmod got this amound of impact sounds around you from hitting bullets and stuff. Now its almost gone. Check a old versiion with chammys sounds and listen to a firing weapon from front and rear, now do same with the new sounds for a gun. ;) As is said, its my opinion. -

This mod getting bad. Where are the diffrent sounds from diffrent positions? where are the clicks of the hitting bullets after firing? where is the atmosphere near a firefight gone? look at the first page of this thread and listen to the vid. now look what protegimus did, he fucked up chammys mod. plz chammy make it on your own or just show him how did you made this great firefight sounds with much impacts around. Protegimus you did a bad job in my eyes... hope csm3 is still comming from chammy just my 2 cents -

2x alt toggles freelook on mouse, so you can fly with you keyboard and look around with your mouse all the time. You dont need your mouse to control anything, just look around -

Only when connecting to servers? arma2 runs ok in singleplayer? if yes check your firewall or the necessary ports for arma

Do not buy arma1 anymore, get part 2. For more Fps play dessert maps. Then you buy arrowhead, and you can load the whole arma2 content as mod for arrowhead then. If you buy arma1 you need arrowhead and arma2 later to use all content. And im sure thats not your last pc, so you will have much more fun later with that way. But arma1 is cheap to (a1 10 bucks/ a2 15 to 20) and its not a bad game. You could have mine then is dont use it anymore. otherwise get jcove or vbs2 lite use version for free.

Did you used modfolders or you just put those mods in your addons folder?

With the combination of the right mods you will get this and much more features to make a much better simulated battlefield then in the vanilla version. Arma2TS (direct positional audio, short mid and long range radio with frequenzes and ambient backround radio sounds while using radio) ACE (stamina, backpacks, medicsystem with much stuff to use, weapon resting, ballistics, backblast & much much more) WarFX (better explosions, more dust, more effects) csm2 (best firefight sounds) to name a few i use Do you really know a gta game which can handle 6000km² maps and thousand units which are stored and not random generated 100m in front of you? Dont think so

by the way, if you use arma 1 conten via mod (caa1) in arma2 then you have same framerates like in arma1. You can use much of the arma1 mods too then with caa1. Get arma2 and if chernarus runs too slow change to dessert maps or arma1 content for arma2. Or just wait for Operation Arrowhead...

I have a question On the city map will there be ditches and hills? or is it just a flat area without diffrent heights? I mean it looks ok so far but there is almost no landscape cover possible without ditches and stuff.

This weapons use the ace sm sound not the vanilla ones. I only miss the cracks from front of the gun, the gunsounds itself are quite good in ace sm, but distance firefights and the immersion that comes with it are only good in chammys sound mod. Chammy you still working on version 3? because i dont really like the new sounds andstuff witch brought in by other guys. Your best version till now in my eyes was the unreleased urban sound version which armavidz used for his videos... start watching at 7 minutes M9AW6d-14kk start watching at 7 minutes But your csm3 vid sounds awesome too (first post this side) You still on it or you still making sounds for project reality? -

Try move waypoints slope with combat behavior, multiple small 3-5 man groups instead of a big group. There are still mods which adress this ai behavior, just try those mods too. Combine them, change them whatever, to make the ai you (in this case) or the player (in any case) want... But thats a bit more work then
