    Dragon Rising has been released

3 days ago i was checking for servers online and i didn't find any. Yesterday their Community Manager announced this in the Forum: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5853498#post5853498 (check out the shitstorm that followed if you want to have a good laugh :D ) What these guys did is nothing but a massive fraud considering that on the back of the box it states: „Dedicated host server recommended for optimum performance“. I feel ashamed and naive for actually preordering this game. I feel massively tricked and used. Guess i was blinded by there good working hype machinery on gametrailers. Lies, Lies and Lies! This won't happen to me another time and i will never buy a Codemasters Game again. Game died 37 days after release. R.I.P OF2: DR (Friday the 13/8/2009) Long live ARMA 2! Cheers, rascal

    Setting waypoints for the GPS?

that sounds helpfull! I hope it works online too since i don't play the singleplayer. (Shooting AI ain't fun for me)
  3. Hey all, sorry for asking what propably is a noob question (which i still happen to be) but this one really bugs me. I figured that in ARMA2 you have the GPS as a minimap replacement. However, since it is not zoomable (at least i was told so on a server earlier that day) i was wondering if it is somehow possible to set a waypoint in the map that then displays in the GPS? Because the biggest problem i have is the orientation. I keep pressing M all the time just to find my way to the front. If i had a waypoint in my GPS pointing me in the right direction that would be a thing of awesomeness and i wouldn't get lost in the woods with my motobike so often  Cheers, rascal
  4. Interesting food for thought there Steakslim. Would be cool to have a dev confirm your assumption but it sounds logical. And yes i meant doorways. Well, i guess i have to find me another place for lurking then untill this issue gets eventually fixed in Arrowhead!
  5. hell yeah i want an ARMA2 T-Shirt too; where can we order?! :292:
  6. Interesting Flash Thunder but why does it work outside then? I don't see how animations relate to this "inhouse" movement problem. I mean the house itself is as much part of the geometry as everything else and it's not like a floating thing so it should have the same feel like outside but whatever it is, this is as richiespeed13 stated, indeed a very annoying thing. For me most problems occur when i want to lurk in the floor (half outside half inside the house) Feels like i am not properly able to turn myself around as i want. Weird.. :j: P.S. My guess is that the complex bounding box of the player somehow collides with the house collision proxies.

Just want to say: Thank You BIS!

Hey all, i just signed up here and thanks to pchaxor everything has been said that i wanted to say too but i also would like to ask a question. How alive is this community, can we expect ARMA 2 to be played years from now? I know that nobody can predict the future but since i am so totally new to this community i would really like to hear how some of you arma veterans see that. I certainly do hope it will be around for long! Which leads to the question.. was ARMA 2 actually a success for bohemia? I refused buying ARMA2 because of the bad press that was pointing its fingers at the bugs but now that i have gotten it from steam and a few patches have been there since then, i must say holy lord, this game is the best military game i have ever seen and i am absolutely in love with it. My only concern is that this love wont last for long as the community vanishes more and more to other games.. or do you guys think that concern is unreasoned? :j: :) Btw. i also bought OF2 (preordered it) and i must say.. this game sucked hard! I wish i could have given that money to Bohemia in the first place by buying the retail version of ARMA2 and not the 20 bucks version on steam. ;) Anyways cheers, rascal P.S. Glad to have found that awesome community and game P.S.2 Already looking forward to Arrowhead!
