    Seeing as your from australia, you should join our community at ausarma.org. Basically just a nice "bridge" for all the clans and pubs in the area to interact. We should be having a 50 player coop on in the next couple of weeks if you'd like to join us :)

    Obviously make sure you are running the latest patch (the original version is er..... "delicate"). The good thing about Arma 2 now is that it has reached the stage where the game is 98% working and there are high quality mods coming out literally every week. Arma 2 has finally reached the "golden period" where everything is coming together: the game, the devs and of course the community. You don't have people ranting "epic fail" in every second thread, and more "hi i just bought arma 2".

    Honestly, I think OA - where the maps lack a lot of vegetation, and the engine has seen a lot of polish and enhancement (real FLIR etc), is it at a state suitable for console.

    Yes, defiantely go for a single 5850 rather than crossfired 4850's. Will greatly simplify your setup and you won't have all the random CF issues.
