@Reticuli thanks for the input. Ok the easy question first: you need Max Zombies active for TPW ZOMBIES to work. Now the hard question: CIVS/CROWD and SKIRMISH are pretty much completely separate systems, so aspects of your request would be non-trivial to say the least. My civs are really meant to be eye candy, they actually disperse and stop spawning once the bullets start flying. They cannot be revived if killed, and they don't move towards other fallen civs. Crowd civs are even simpler, if injured or killed they simply despawn once you don't have line of sight to them. So making them part of the actual battle scenario is a little tricky and would require a substantial rework of a fair bit of code. That said, increasing enemy squad numbers in response to civ deaths is not too problematic, I'll look into it. @osterizer8Thanks for the heads up. Diving into the code I can see that for CARS, the trucks/vans are a separate list that doesn't get filtered by the exclusion list. I've amended this and will release a fix soon. It's actually very difficult making "accurate" uniforms in Arma, so I'm not dissing anyone else's efforts. I see ADF people all the time, but it's not like I can ask them to pose for reference snaps! AMCU looks very different new vs faded and photographs very differently according to the light. Depending on the pix you're looking at it can incredibly different, so hard to find a baseline. I tried to make my camo as a happy medium between super saturated out of the pack looking and completely worn and dusty with almost no pattern contrast. I also tried hard to make it work across a variety of A3 lighting configs and times of day, which can radically change its look. And lastly I tried to make it work using A3 and mod uniform and gear assets, very few of which really look like contemporary ADF gear. The result is a bit of a compromise which probably doesn't really please anyone! I didn't get to the open day, wouldn't mind going though.- 5767 replies

One of my pet peeves with Arma3 AI (and there are many it's true) is that they just ignore and abandon their fallen colleagues in a way that no modern fighting force does. I've actually had some scripting that I've been using for a while to overcome this, and have finally deemed it worth of inclusion. Any AI spawned by TPW SKIRMISH will now move towards their fallen squadmates and will attempt to "revive" them. Revived squaddies are actually spawned replacements, with exactly the same properties as the dead unit they replace, and will rejoin the squad to fight on, albeit with reduced health. About 50% of the time the fallen AI cannot be revived, and will be placed in a body bag instead. This functionality actually makes AI engagements a lot more believable and interesting (IMHO). Your changes will apply across all maps and missions. You must not use single or double quotes (' or ") in ANY of the settings TPW MODS automatically handles conversion of comma separated values into arrays, so do not enclose anything with [,( or { You can only change settings in the "server" tab of CBA settings. You can save and load configurations e.g specific to certain maps or scenarios to save manually changing them You can at any time revert each setting to its default I haven't front paged this yet nor put a link to Steam. TPW MODS CBA SETTINGS TEST VERSION https://www.dropbox.com/s/cjbv85k26w63v3p/TPW_TEST.pbo So if anyone is interested in helping me out testing and bug fixing, I've come up a with a preliminary version of TPW MODS that entirely uses CBA in game settings instead of the userconfig/tpw_mods/tpw_mods.hpp . This was big @#$%ing job, several thousand lines worth of code, but it all seems to work. I'd be grateful if a few of you could put it through its paces before I release to the screaming hordes on Steam. I swear if one of them whinges about it I'll go round to their house and pat their cat's fur the wrong way. Usage: rename @TPW_MODS\addons\tpw_mods.pbo to @TPW_MODS\addons\tpw_mods.bak copy the downloaded PBO to @TPW_MODS\addons\tpw_test.pbo once you've got a map or mission running, hit the esc key in game --> options --> addon options to get to the CBA menu select TPW MODS from the pulldown and gasp in amazement at the millions of options. A couple of things to remember: Only the "server" tab allows you to change anything Settings won't take effect until you reload the mission You can't access settings from the editor, only in game Don't use single or double quotes (" or ')in any of the fields You can always load a default value if things get out of hand You might have to refer to the tpw_mods.hpp for exact explanations of each option, I haven't had time to update the docs Please leave the \Arma3\userconfig\tpw_mods\tpw_mods.hpp file where it is for the time being, the tpw_animspeed.pbo still needs it. No, it just means that there won’t be any animals spawned by TPW ANIMALS. The animals spawned by the ambient part of the terrain’s config will still spawn.- 5767 replies

Hi champs. So I’ve actually made a massive amount of progress with a CBA in game settings approach for TPW MODS and hope to have a version up for testing within a few days if anyone wants to help out with that (obviously the risk of your computer exploding is very high). This has required a fair bit of work because the CBA approach doesn’t allow the user to enter arrays of strings or numbers, and many of mods require these inputs. Anyway, hopefully this will shut down a major avenue of complaint, but whingers gonna whinge!- 5767 replies

So the simplest way is just to press ctrl-alt-u to cycle through the unit highlighting options. There’s no config option to permanently disable unit highlighting sorry.- 5767 replies

Yes there’s a few obnoxious posts already. You can see why I hesitated to release there. The cba settings might be doable, but there’s literally dozens of parameters so I’m not sure how it’ll go. I’m still planning on using this thread as my primary base of operations so no need to switch to steam if you don’t want to.- 5767 replies

If worse comes to worst you can always just grab the default again. But seriously, if you use tpw-settings.exe you should have very little trouble. Do you want to keep the other hud features but disable the unit markers? Let me know and I’ll help you out. By the way the Steam crowd made it pretty clear that an in game CBA settings menu for tpw mods is a desirable feature. I’ll see what I can come up with- 5767 replies

Yeah you must have grabbed it very early while I inadvertently uploaded with with TPW_MUFFLER.pbo (which requires JSRS) in the main addons rather than the addons_optional directory. I reuploaded it with things in the right place. If it's still there, just delete TPW_MUFFLER from the addons in your install and you'll be good. I'd be very grateful if a few of you could check out the Steam version and make sure that it downloads and installs OK on a few systems other than mine. I will continue to use this forum for the main TPW MODS discussion, and will continue to release via Dropbox for those who prefer to get it that way. So I’m currently tidying things up and rewriting documentation ahead of releasing TPW MODS on Steam. The one thing that has me worried is the need to have the tpw_mods.hpp in the user’s /userconfig directory. Does anyone with experience know if Steam stuff can be packaged so that it can install files outside of the !workshop directory?- 5767 replies
