I saw someones video shooting an RPG at the Caiman and in one shot it was totally destroyed. Is it really that easy to kill? I thought they could withstand alot.

Now I might sound like I am out of my mind, but why does everyone who makes soldiers need to always make them with mixed uniforms? I would like to finally get an army that wears the same uniform. Not green camo tops with desert camo bottoms or the opposite. Even special forces do not always ONLY wear whatever they woke up next to in the morning. I know BIS made Razor two that way, but Cooper is probably the worst looking player I ever had to play in any game, especially looking at the back of his purple head. And I hate those boots that look like tennis shoes or hiking boots. Is that really a military issue boot? However, on that note, I think it would be cool if someone started making spec ops units to wear OPFOR uniforms. It is my understanding that, when doing covert missions, and deep cover missions, They try to look like the enemy in order to blend in. Getting rid of all things showing the where they came from, including removing shirt tags etc that are written in english etc. So if we must mix the uniforms how about a mix of enemy uniforms in order to be more realistic and blend better. I would do it if i knew how they skin the soldiers. I can't get anyone to tell me how they get that fabric look. And if anyone is still reading, how about making better Marines. I see a million Army units now even making different years, 2005, 2009, etc. Can someone get some really good looking marine units. Including tucking in the pants to the boots. (I don't know why that bugs me). But those Army units in ACE and Binks look really good. Lets get some Marines like that. -

Does anyone actually read this? If so, I know someone has made a ctar21 I was wondering if they can add one with grenade launcher. I like using them but it doesn't look right if the rest of my team has ak's. And along those lines I also see someone has the p90 with silencer. Anyway to make it without one? Looks better that way. Maybe I watched too much stargate atlantis, but i like how they look without silencer. Thanks -

So does that mean in order to use the fast rope a soldier needs to have the rope in his equipment inventory? Or the helicopter? Does someone have the script that i can put in whoevers init? thanks -

I have tried searching but don't seem to get answers. How / what do i need to do in order for fastroping to work? When i used the ad helo? helicopters the mh60k efrs, I had the option to drop ropes while piloting. I know ACE uses them and i tried them in the blackhawk and I don't get the option. I saw someone saw that you can't be the pilot, but if i'm not the pilot, then the pilot tries to land. and it's difficult to get him to auto hover. And besides, when the stars all lined up, I still have no one with the option to drop. Help please. thanks. -
using PLA but now civ are not friendly

I'm trying to create a mission using the PLA as the OPFOR since they were created as "Independant" I lose civilian being friendly to blufor. How can I get around this? The reason is, I am trying to have a Ural civilian driver, and i want to put blufor troops in cargo. but the driver keeps getting out and laying on the ground. I have tried setting driver as this setcaptive true, but still happens. I don't want to have to make all the blufor units captive. My reason for doing this is that I want to see if the civ truck can sneak in the blufor troops without the OPFOR shooting at them. Other than tyring captives, I want all civilians to be friendly but Independants not. Any ideas? thanks -

Alwarren, I thought civilians were always neutral too, but when I put myself as player in the civilian Ural, to see whythe drivers were getting out, all of the OPFOR units changing from red to green, showing they were allies.. However, I got it slightly working by using an empty Ural, then having a civilian driver enter, and I also had my BLUFOR units "this moveincargo" and the driver drove off, but then none of the soldiers got out at the waypoint. I like that idea of giving them the OPFOR leader. I usually hand pick most of the groups anyway, so that can be helpful in other situations too. thanks It does kind of suck that the PLA are independent. I don't see using them against most OPFOR. Maybe they should put the PLA under both categories for options. Cause I want to also use the UN troops in other missions, but I guess I'll have to use the leader thing. thanks -
US Army Rangers retextured units

First, I love using the Rangers you released. Great work. Is the multicam on this new release the same as the u.s army special forces that you just released? I can't tell from the pics. I noticed the multicam on them is different than the ones on the last ranger update. The older one is more of a brown kind of color and the ones on the spec forces are more green. I thought the last one looked the best, i thought it looked the best out of all the other mods and looked like the real one, at least i thought. If this new update is the spec forces multicam, i would rather keep the old. Although i like the other things you updated. Can someone post a good pic of the multicam up close? I would appreciate it. Even with the greener color it looks awesome. Is there anyway you could have both versions. I like the old one for quesh and the new one with chern. Great job btw. Any plans on expanding the rangers soldiers so they aren't all exactly the same? Just for a little variety? Thanks -

I have a question about team switching in ACE. Mainly the question applies to wounded during single player. I am playing SP right now and I was a pilot that somehow got knocked unconscious. Is there any way to be able to use team switch when things like this happen? So far as long as you are awake and not wounded I can team switch whenever I want. But when injured I can't. It might be in the vanilla game too, however wounding doesn't take so long. Being SP i want to be able to get a medic to me and make sure my team takes cover and continues on mission. While I am knocked out, they only manage to die by the time I wake up. Thanks -
Back of the carrier - does it open?

I was looking at the assault carrier, and in all pictures I see and in BF2 the back is always open for Amphibious vehicles and boats. In the ArmA 2 carrier it looks like it has a moveable gate/door. In the inside of it, It is modelled like it is supposed to be used. Meaning there is no invisible walls or anything. So it is made to be seen. Anyone know anything about it? -

I figured they would close it in real life. I have seen like 15-20 pics of it and I have only seen it open. I haven't even seen a door at all. I just need to look a little harder. I was usually looking for what was on the deck. It is modeled as if they meant to use it. Like I said, from the inside it looks ok, No dock or anything, just walls and ceiling. I did notice that i can put things inside that spot, me included, inside that part of the ship, and you can drive out through the gate, like AI walks through walls with the bottom missing. So I guess anyone who would want to use that to store vehicles or anything, you can. Just can't get back in. Thanks -

I just saw this and thought it would be a cool addition to the game if someone makes it. So many games have the F-35 and it's not even on carriers yet and is still going through testing. I would rather see an F-22 since we have harriers. Yeah I can go online and see what they carry officially, but the models don't seem to have the room for that many. I see there is 11 seats on each side of both helicopters. That's 22 plus 2 door gunners (if the 46 will get them) and 2 pilots. So that brings the total for these models, 26. 10 less than yours. And when a marine squad is 13 that means squads must be broken up. So I was curious how many were intended. Some sit kind of funny taking up more room than others, which could give more room. Maybe some could stand up. -

The only reason i mentioned Bf2 was because i was basically saying that in everything i have seen it in, in pictures and in games, I have ONLY seen it open. I have never seen it closed. In anything. I know BF2 is irrelevant. If I played any other game that had it, I would mention that too. Also, it is the same ship, same name, and the model is almost identical. So every reference i have ever seen, I have never seen anything closing the back off. Is that better for you? -

Is there anyway you can get AI to use this? Maybe like using waypoints telling AI where to pick up and drop off? I think the reason there are problems with the carrier is because it's a building. Or at least the game sees it as a building. Thats why AI cant do much on it. It's not looked at as a usable runway. Thanks -

You know, for the people who don't like what ACE does, it's really not that hard to change most of the issues they have. Take about 10 minutes searching and you can find your issues. If you don't like the overheat, open the pbo that has it and change the value yourself. - well if you are playing sp- mp you can't. Asking again, does anyone know how i can fold the blades of the AH1Z in ACE? The normal way does not work. I'm guessing it has sommething to do with ACE changing the names or something. _xtype = [this,1] execVM "\Ca\air\Scripts\AH1Z_fold.sqf" -I've tried this and they won't fold. The Huey and the osprey still work fine though. Thanks -

I don't think i saw any posts for this but I tried to find out how many troops the 53 could carry. I created a group with about 25-30 troops and they all fit. The problem is they were sitting on each others laps. Basically when it ran out of room it started putting the rest in the same seats. so when someone turned their head another face turned the other way. Sitting through each other. And i just tried the same thing with the 46. I had two full squads of 13. total of 26 troops. I sent a a waypoint telling them to get into the 46 and all of them went in. Then I counted them. And there were 11 on each side. Totalling 22. Where did the other 4 troops go? In this, they weren't sitting through each other. How many troops are they really supposed to carry? It seems both carry 22. yet each squad is 13 troops. So where would the other troops go in real life? -

They definitely look great. My only issue is that they are really bright compared to the others. Even in bad weather they look like they are still in the sun. And the Blackbird looks more of a dark silver than a black. Is it possible to fold the wings up like the other 33? It would be nice since the other one has no cockpit. Like the different colors. Mayber possible for someone to get some aircraft with chinese markings. Thanks -

I have skinned alot of vehicles before but never soldiers. How do you guys get the uniforms on the soldiers to look so real. It looks like real fabric with seams and everything. What do you do to get that look? Thanks

I don't think we need to worry about how bad the AI was in some of those shots. I know that when they show (some) demos, the enemy intelligence is usually set really low so they can show off what they want without getting shot down. It wouldn't look to good showing off how cool the apache is while it gets shot down while doing so. They usually don't start setting everything to difficult until its toward the end and everything is where it's supposed to be. At least thats what i've heard. I think this is what they wanted to do with Arma 2 originally but didn't have the resources or time to do it all. And thanks for the video, I was going crazy having it freeze up every 10 seconds. And the english. -
Is there anyway to overide the way that formations of squads are set up? It seems to go according to rank as opposed to how they are created. And vehicles are usually first or second running people over. If it's a mechanized unit. I want to build squads so fire teams are next to each other. That way i can choose to put my medics next to leaders. And so that when i seperate groups they will stay next to each other instead of keeping with original squad formation. I have tried manually switching positions in the sqm but they always go back to whatever some master formation is.
