  1. dont appologise the campaign is awesome the wife and kids are being neglected i cant stop playing it, make more of them please
  2. I just tried to start the mission 3 times since posting about the landed helicopter and something i forgot about mentioning in the first post keeps happening. As soon as i get off the boat at the start of the mission and approach the first camp i get a mission complete extraction on the way activates. It seems to be some sort of trigger that activates the extraction helicopter as soon as i get on land and get to a certain point towards the first camp. Also the infiltration in eagles assist worked fine. I ended up having to do an endmission on the bad karma in the end
  3. I dont use slx by using the @slx mod folder way, i just have a load of slx pbos in the standard addons folder, is there a particular file i need to move out of there while im playing this camp?

Ok I had a run around the general area and found nothing, the task didnt complete it just says "clear the area" Now in the previous 3 camps needed to clear i have a feeling that one soldier got away so to speak, but the task still completed sending me on to the next camp. As for the helicopter its just sitting empty next to the town (on the road in the middle of it) But he strange thing is when i was attacking the last of the 3 main camps my cursor would occasionally click over the helicopter and identify it. obviously i couldnt see it because it was too far away, i just assumed it was a downed helicopter in which the marines where originally captured and there is a big plume of smoke nearby. So it looks like the helicopter has been parked there all along. I tell you what I will take a few screenshots and post them up... Below is the bombed town with 2 apaches pointlessly flying over (oh and they fly into each other cand crash in one play of the mission) Below is the helicopter And again However on a closer inspection the chopper looks shot up it obviously hasnt crashed but you cannot take off in it even though you have the option to get in as a pilot
  5. Yeah i have slx it hasn't really caused any problems though. However i seem to be stuck on Black karma mission in which you have to rescue the marines. I have destroyed enemy at the 3 camps and have used the cluster bomb and apache assault on the main big enemy hq but nothing progresses any further. It seems to be stuck on "clear the town" even though there is nothing alive there apart from the empty extraction chopper i cant seem to find anybody left to take out
  6. Right, I am determined to learn how to use the mission editor and unfortunatly I am someone who has big scale missions in mind which means i have a lot to learn. I have just spent the last hour reading the extended full editor manual about things, and to be honest I don't learn by reading manuals some of the scripting explanations completely lost me. So basically what i need to do to learn how to use it is by disecting an already made mission using the editor. For example I have completed the red harvest campaign, so i know what happens when you use the radio or what objectives i want to do. What I need is to see how these things are set up in the mission editor. For instance rather than post the same questions on here like "how do i set up a radio airstrike?" I can see how its done with triggers and stuff in the editor and figure out myself how to do it. But all i need to know is how to open the campaign pbo in editor so i can get a good look at how it works

I was playing this most of last night and all day today, its very good and one thing i have been waiting ages for is a good 3rd party campaign with lots of addons and you delivered so i thank you for that. The only bug i really found is on occasion the infiltration helicopters seems to have problems landing so i can get out, in mission 2 it just hovers endlessly, i jumped out and died but found the only way to survive is by ejecting, just as it hovers over land before it begins its decent and you have enough room to open your parachute. Landing in water causes you to lose all your gear. on other missions i tell my squad to disembark and the helo decides to come down on the disembark order. Apart from that i haven't found any other bugs which comes as a big embarresment for bis being as a well scripted user campaign is put together much better than the games own creaters. Its also a nice touch that ou can still continue if your team gets killed something i hated in red harvest

As title suggests I updated to patch 1.04 and there is no crosshair refrence in the game except when you bring up the optics, i prefer to use the crosshairs than looking down the sights and its made killing enemy much harder now. I have the UK release of arma not the steam version which the patch warns about

    still no crosshair. I get the grenade circle crosshair show, but even in recruit with crosshairs enabled they are now gone

I am completely skeptical about this expansion With Bis's history of meeting deadlines and rushing unfinished games into the shops with terrible unplayable bugs and general poor quality we get until a patch finally comes out i can only assume arrowhead will be exactly the same. I am glad though that it has finally taken us to a middle eastern scenario simply because russians are so 1985 and the world has been fighting in the middle east for many years since with no russian problems at all. It's a nice change to actually get to do it in arma (being as the 2 arma games are set at current time, where as ofp was set during the cold war.)

    no its on recruit as standard, i have looked around in the options and settings and there doesn't even seem to be a crosshair option
  15. i can add 3rd party missions to the missions folder no problem, they can be played in game. howevr i have tried to add a downloaded campaign and no matter where i put it, it will not show up in the game. i read that if you create a campaign folder it will work but it doesnt. i have absolutly no idea where the red harvest campaign is stored because i cant see it in any of the folders.

    im using vista i created the folder in the missions folder which is in the main arma 2 directory, so i will try that and will be back with the result. thanks

    Arma models in 3ds max?

    Is there a way to extract the 3d models of say cooper, sykes etc... and get them to work in 3ds max so i can make some arma videos that cant be done with fraps. I dont want to sell, or copyright anything
  19. I managed to use artillery on the base and be at a safe distance to watch the carnage. I also took a heavy duty javelin from the base (behind shaftoe) the rocket takes up a lot of space and you lose a few mag pouches but it definatly takes care of the surviving t-72 in one shot
  20. i am looking for some good campaigns with add ons, mods etc... when i had flashpoint i had about 4gb worth of extra content 100's of missions and campaigns and i never got bored. Due to arma 2's VERY short campaign with the annoyance of having to keep all your team alive I wanna try something new. I was really addicted to flaspoints "navy seals" "afghanistan" "FFUR" "behind enemy lines" "black hawk down." missions most required extra add ons to play
  21. Very tricky task, the UAV doesn't seem to stay in one direction long enough to get your bearings for which direction is front, and being as you can only fire forward its a pain in the ass

  24. no the evidence you collect is from the woman you arrest in Krastnostav (only if she boards the helecopter) and the papers you find in the smugglers house
  25. Ok I have set up a whole load of waypoints for my soldier to follow. Alough i don't know how to get the editor script/trigger to realise when you have completed a task in order to move on to the next waypoint. Here is what i need help with.... One of the objectives is to destroy 2 plane targets using satchel charges. Please tell me what triggers/scripts i have to write in order to activate an objective complete. The final objective is to assassinate an officer. There are many soldiers in the base but i dont want to have to use the no presence of enemy left in order to complete this task. i just want it to recognise the officers death before i can move on to extract. I think if i can get the answers to these 2 problems i can probably handle a lot of the other stuff myself. Dave
