ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
jw custom replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yeah sure... it runs fine here, maybe you should degrade to a game your computer can handle :) Yes i'm a fanboy and i'm proud of it, but it doesn't change the fact that this game runs fine my end -
Doesn't change the fact that on this forum it's not allowed to talk about piracy, it's a ban offence ;) It was just a friendly warning, take it or ignore it :)
-
I dunno what people are talking about when they say people got driven away by this and that. I play almost everyday that be pub servers or missions i host myself and there's many people around. Yes sure you'll meet morons on pub servers, but some of them are actually monitored pretty well and those who won't behave properly simply gets kicked, if that not works... banned :D My fave servers are: =WBG= Tactical Gamers Pub 1 Parachute I've had some fantastic experiences on those servers.
-
@Sleek78 If i were you i would hurry up editing my post, talk about pirating = ban ;)
-
On the loading screen of Dragon Rising :D I've jumped on the AMD CPU and ATI gfx cards wagon a few times now and everytime i've been disappointed, so i have promised myself not to get tempted again :)
-
i7 920 + GTX 285 on Windows XP Pro 32bit,,, i rarely get CTD's but when i do it's usally because of stupid scripting and too much action on the screen combined with to high video settings :)
-
Here in europe there's plenty of populated servers, though most of them host Evolution and Domination. I personally host homemade missions where team work is the key word. So if you decide to buy the game your welcome to join in on a game so you can learn the basics :)
-
Well seeing you have over 6000 posts and been a member since early 2002 and not just a 1 post poster saying "where to get a refund" makes me wanna hear, plz?
-
Yes the game had rather many bugs on release day but still many people was able to play and enjoy the game. On newest patch the game is running much better, not perfect but far better. Some are still having problems with CTD's and some claim the campaign is still unplayable though many have completed it, can't help you there as i haven't touched the campaign.. too busy with the editor and playing online ;) ArmA 2 is very demanding on your computer so make sure your computer is good enough before buying else you might end up in one of the "poor performance" threads. So read around the forums before buying and feel free to ask questions. Btw, welcome to a awesome community ;)

LOL didn't notice that :p

Very angry at constant CTDs

Very angry at constant CTDs
jw custom replied to ANGRY ARMA FAN's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
When do you get the CTD's? What game version are you on? Have you read through the this section for similar problems? What is your video settings? Give as much info as possible that makes it a lot easier to try help you :) In missions with a lot of action and with video settings on very high i sometimes get CTD's. I have also experienced CTD's when i've OC my CPU. Just for testing try set all video settings on lowest but resolution on something watchable. Then run your CPU on stock speed. Now see if this helps. -
The DF2 days were really nice, i loved it... kinda miss the voxelspace hell :p DF3... Land Warrior..... i hated it :D
-
Operation Flashpoint = OF :p
-
I really feel sorry for those very dedicated OFP fans that waited for so many years for the sequel and then get this cheap ported shooter :( Dragon Rising is a little like the new Wolfenstein game, you really wanna like it but it's hard :o
-
I respectfully disagree on that, i played DF1 & 2 and still BHD and JO:TR was great games in my eyes  ...DFX on the other hand :banghead:
-
Yes BHD was also a nice game which i played a lot, i actually went back and played it again about a year ago and it was still fun. I actully played it several times a week for a few months and then forgot about it again :p I might give it a go again someday :)
-
Whether i set the advanced settings default(low) or everything on high i see very little difference. I play with all maxed out and still my eye bleeds by the consolish look :nervous:
-
I think what you are looking for is Dragon Rising, very easy to learn and play ;)
-
Really??? most depend on where in the world you live because here in europe i have no problems finding a populated server, sometimes i even have to wait for servers to have room for me :)
-
I'm a member of the nologic forum but visit it rarely since JO was abandoned :o
-
Yeah JO:TR was great but it seems like Novalogic is simply forgetting their customers when they have recieved their money. I'm not sure if i'm gonna buy DF:AF when it comes out, Novalogic always end up abandoning their games too soon!
-
I play or use the editor almost everyday.
-
I have i7 920 CPU, 8GB ram and a GTX 285 card and i have never had any problems with it, it's working flawlessly without any tweaking besides the settings in the game :D
-
So how far is this game now since release?
jw custom replied to ^Th0mas^'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I've played this game from demo day one and yes there has been annoying bugs but nothing that kept me from playing and enjoying it most of the time. There's been a lot of improvement since first version and it's getting better on every update. If your looking for milsim realism this is the game, there's simply no other games out there that can compare to that. Before you buy the game do yourself a favor and read around the forums and see if this is really what your looking for and if your computer can handle it, ArmA 2 is very CPU greedy!
