I'm using latest beta. I used the setSkill from a script, i thought this would override the settings in my profile :confused: My profile values are: skillEnemy=0.69999999; precisionEnemy=0.69999999;

I am aware there's a ticket on the problem just giving it some puclicity now we are on the subject :p I set aimingShake to 0.1 and didn't notice any change, how low did you set it?

The message are about missing this mod: http://rs716.rapidshare.com/files/259163738/bb_signed_desert_mercs_ARMA2.7z The Mercenaries & BlackOps mod was updated and probably the reason you get that message :)

Too bad they don't seem to do much difference, atleast the commands i have experimentet with: # aimingAccuracy # aimingShake # aimingSpeed # courage Was trying to make firefights a little more interesting, setting these to 0.1 didn't really make any difference that i noticed. AI are still extremely accurate and got tons of courage as they keep standing in the open while bullets whizzles around them. I suppose these setSkill types should be affected by the unit skill slider in the editor aswell, well i don't see much difference if any having that on minimum or maximum :(

Not sure what your showing in that clip, but in ArmA 2 the problem occure when your crouching(atleast i've never had problems standing or proning). -
Did you also get that "D3DERR_INVALIDCALL" message on the crash with patch 1.04? Also is it a messagebox your getting? Could you take a picture of your ingame video settings and post it here(keep it below 100kb).

The fact ArmA 2 has a steep learning curve and takes a minor monster of a computer to run properly keeps out the majority of the "young" gamers and thank god for that! -

I'm not talking about the shooting itself, i'm aware that leaves and grass doesn't stop a bullet. What i'm talking about is having no visibility and still pin point targets! -
Yes that really annoying, got me killed quite a few times :p Objects shouldn't force player up but stop it's movement in that direction object is blocking!

I'm sure, and i believe it's the same problem as when AI shoot's you point blank from behind heavy vegitaion where there's no visibility at all, some objects doesn't seem to hinder detection. Often when i get shot at i can of course i can hear the shot but pin pointing the exact location is not easy and often takes quite a few shots, so if AI team mates can hear other AI 100m+ away where they ain't visible and pin point them then there's something wrong with that. -

I see this everytime i play, it is most visually noticable with iron sights. Yeah just tried with newest beta and it has no effect it seems.

Well thats a good question :p Maybe it got broken in some beta version, are you using the beta? Else i got no idea.

Under Options->Game Options->Difficulty there's a Rifle Bullet Tracers option, guess thats what your looking for?

It happens in every mission you play just not always at same location. When you walk a long your AI team mates report non visible enemies, behind houses, hills etc. So i suppose the enemy does the same as they are AI aswell. If your playing with extended map info you can take a look at the spotted enemies positions which often is need to actually see them from your current position. -

After reading your essay i got the feeling the game doesn't run optimal for you. Maybe you should post in the "ArmA 2 (low) performance issues"!
