    PMC campaign.. 1st mission.

    Sorted it now.. just ran for the crows and eventualy found him on the roof. Got to say, with the incoming mortar rounds, the blinding dust and wind, plus the enemy popping up from time to time, the tension was palpable by the time I got to that RV!
  2. I'm the opposite.. I actually looked forward to BAF than I do this thing, I couldn't care less about it, but it's cheap and I'm a supporter so I'll get it..

    Aircraft from every army/airforce in the world in all conflicts have been adorned with crew or unit emblems.. it's not a drama.. I think the above picture is great by the way.. :)

  7. Well.. My contract with the army will be finished in four weeks.. My next personal weapon will be an FNAR.. work that out!

    Great stuff!.. Going to have fun in a full on infantry clearance op on this one. Love the sounds.. wandering around in the undergrowth listening to the indigenous wild life and atmosphere.. just right. And then taking a walk up to the high lookout point, you pick up the sound of the wind and waves crashing in on the beach below.. just marvellous!

    I had the same problem.. Even though its a game, I didn't like the idea of taking out a couple of floppies who had surrendered.. must be because of the many times I've had the rules of engagement drummed into me.. lol!
  11. Yes they were brand new.. we spent a shed load of time getting them unpacked and ready for operational use.
  12. Ok.. I'll remove them then, no problem, just thought people might be interested. Used to be 'PMC', rejoined the army..
  13. We had the usual soviet type platoon weapons.. AK's, PK's, Makarovs, RPG-7's, DHsK's and 82mm mortars etc..

    I'm not using ACE at all and I've never used it in the past, but I do have the CQB sight option, so it must be something in one of the stock patches.
  15. lol.. Not with the firm I worked with in West Africa.. the day after we arrived at Lungi airport a very large IL-76 turned up with a shed load of soviet weapons and equipment.. that was the 'only' choice.

    Sorry mate.. I've got combined Ops and BAF, so I think that setting may have been introduced with their installs.. someone may be able to correct me on that though.
  17. Yep, in Sierra Leone we had government support aviation (Hips, Hinds etc) flown by east european air crew.. we all were a little worried though as they did like a drink! (if you know what I mean..lol)

    There is a 'CQB' or 'battlesight' view for some weapons that is activated by the '/' key on the numpad by default. If you don't have it you should assign it via the controls menu.. I think that is what he means. :)

    Absolutely.. in real life, if the correct position and hold is maintained and the firer is naturaly in line with the target, after recoil the weapon will more or less settle back onto the point of aim.. not so in this game unfortunately. Yes, there is of course recoil, and they have tried to simulate that, but soldiers are taught to control that by using a stable fire position if possible to compensate for that factor... it's something I drum into my guys over and over again.

    'Playing to many shooters' my arse.. Yes, it's each to his own, but as someone who has done many years of 'house, and room clearance' in a real enviroment, the existing vanilla method of moving through narrow doorways is more 'unrealistic' than the version that is being offered here. Doing room clearance for real I can say that I never got stuck or hung up because my weapon wouldn't fit properly through the door, or that I had to enter sideways and couldn't cover my arcs.. This is an excellent stop gap answer to a problem that should not even exist in the game as is..
