  3. Your post and your post count tell me there is hope for you.... forget fps and look for smooth gameplay spend some time looking thru the tweaks on this forum and run 803 as a start point and you will get a good game... I have lower spec and the game runs very well for me
  4. as "No Use" says it is likely a heat issue but I have had similar symtom caused by the following: poorly seated card - remove and reseat. VGA Voltage too low - increase voltage with adjustment. PSU too weak - upgrade Card damaged I have similar card and find 191.07 driver works well with XP32

    for future reference to those that cant find data on their pc... windoze has a little known function called "search" it works similar to other search engines in that you type the name or part there of... and it will show you all the best matches and where they are..... oh and forums work in a similar fashion....

  8. I think what you guys are missing is that all your recent revelations and discussions are old news and have been completely worked through in other posts/threads. If you search this forum you will find plenty of info to get the game running very well on W7.

  12. I have same cpu with XP32 I do not use that parameter and all 4 of my cores average about 80-90% load in A2
  13. @Blah... I feel sorry for those that cant tune their pc and/or work out what components and/or processes are causing stutters. I have only to watch my HD led to see that it is the slowest and only part of my system that is struggling to keep up with the workload of this game. I feel that those that cant solve the issues with the information available on this forum and with the betas, should try an Xbox game. This game requires the player to have a good grasp of how a pc/os works.

    @seany arma2 is detecting your Vram correctly at 877megs... it always allocates just under the actual amount, you can set it closer to the actual amount by changing your config file and setting it to read only. 896 x 1024 x 1024 = 939524096 It is allocating 1791megs for non local Vram localVRAM=919994368/1024/1024 = 877 nonlocalVRAM=1878235136/1024/1024 = 1791 I have 2 gig ram and 2 gig page file and have set my non lacal Vram to 512 megs... so far it seems to run smoother with less allocated than the 1+ gig it defaults to but you need to try for yourself.

  16. zach with your response you have only proved my point... you have not read these forums. qwertz and his investigation of Arma 2 HD usage is probably the MOST concise data anaysis of any of the components that affect performance of this game. I assure you I am no simpleton and I wish you all the best... this is an amazing game and you will enjoy it immensly when you follow the advice on these forums. I stand by my original post. BTW like Rex I am using the latest beta... anyone that is not is missing out on big performance improvements.
  17. I have not flown for a while but from memory I was using KB and was using action key. I thought that as long as you are in Lift chopper once you were in the "Zone" it prompts you to "Lift" when you are correct H and D from obj... so you just hit action key....
  18. @icdcc... and anyone else crying about there uber rig having stutters low fps on very low settings...or similar... YOU are missing the point. I and many others have rigs with a third of the power that you guys have and the game runs fine at 1680 x 1050.... 3G quad Q6600 2G Ram 9800GT 2 X 750G AAKS Raid 0 What is very publicly clear is that you need to have a good hard drive sub system/ram disk and you need to follow the tweaks on this forum. The order of speed is as follows... I run two fast 7200 sata drives in raid 0 and some here run SSD and others run Ram disks. Forget single drives unless you have SSD... or Ram disk I suggest you set up a ram disk and you will be able to run 1900 x 1200 as smooth as silk... or get a better HD setup @zach... you obviously have not read any of this forum or you would not have made such a post... I love single digit posters that post negative without reading the forum....NOT!!!
  19. @MadDogX... ok I understand that now, the vid only shows the last shot is perhaps hitting above and I cant play A2 to test it. It is really bad implementation of the "grass layer" fix if the invisible body model can still take hits if aim is above visible model.... I hope you guys are wrong or that it gets improved soon.

  21. so from that video what you guys are unhappy with is the fact that instead of a visual layer covering the Ai target, they are actually below and behind the ground and therefore you can only hit any exposed parts? Does this mean the "other" style of grass layer could be penetrated with rounds?

    @Drew you need to be less defensive m8... qwertz did not attack you but voiced his opinion and experience of the type of util you are promoting. We are all allowed to have an opinion and I have to say qwertz has already gained huge respect on these forums with very useful utils he has developed for A2 diagnostics and analysis. we can all choose to use or not to use.

  24. yes as has been explained by a dev... the ocean and shoreline were being rendered twice since a few betas back... now fixed
