Advanced Robotics on the Battlefield of 2031

There are some very naive comments in this thread. Firstly: The Military now works on force multiplication. Force multiplication, in military usage, refers to an attribute or a combination of attributes which make a given force more effective than that same force would be without it. The expected size increase required to have the same effectiveness without that advantage is the multiplication factor. For example, if a certain technology like GPS enables a force to accomplish the same results of a force five times as large but without GPS, then the multiplier is five. Such estimates are used to justify an investment cost for force multipliers. A force multiplier refers to a factor that dramatically increases (hence "multiplies") the effectiveness of an item or group. So what do we currently use and where have we come from since 1993. The Bosnian war lead to an uptake in PGM (Precision Guided Munitions), such as paveway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision-guided_munition This required a lasing platform and an attack platform. Where are we now, with the likes of JDAM, the bomb does all the work using GPS. How has this multiplied the force, in effect one plane can fly to a target, designate and fire and forget a bomb. One platform free to do other tasks. In the first gulf war there was a significant uptake of the Apache, this also needed two platforms, the Kiowa as a spotter and the Apache to attach, since then the longbow has been developed, which melded the Apache and Kiowa into one frame. WRT robots and the military, we are using more and more drones, including toy like helicopters. With miniaturization (think of a 1993 mobile phone Vs todays), the looming nano-tech era will again bring smaller and smaller more capable devices, leading to new interesting and novel ways to use tech in defence. So the likes of Big Dog, UAVs, Stealth UAVs, the arming of Reaper etc, who knows where we will be, but do not think for a second that there won't be more robotics in the military, if it's a force multiplier, it will be there. What we can say, is that until true VR exists and robots can replace the reactions and speed etc of a man, then without these two being joined in one item, boots will always be needed on the ground, just less of them. -

But neither is the iron sight Zeroed at 200m. That's what the battle sight is for and I think you'll find that's what the sticky up bit is on top of the ACOG and the SUSAT. Bearing in mind that scoped weapons have glass in them that can be damaged rendering the sight useless, so a back up is always given. -

+1 for this, seasonal changes would be good, but yeah mainly summer and winter.......just think, gravity is already modelled so skis could be made....down hill Arma2 ski championships, the amount of possibilities would exponentially grow if we had winter.. -

The offical terminology as taught is "The rifle". Which is kind of unisex if you like as it could be any rifle should we get a new one. Other nomenclature are, "my weapon", "Gat", "Gun" and as you correctly stated "SA80"; all of which are equally viable. -

Eurrgghh, the thought, "mind if I join him?" that really is taking team work to a whole new level.......a little bit too rainbow for me! StalkerGB the textures of the weapons are looking very good. -
If you have a dead guy in a vehicle, the blood effect keeps pouring out onto the floor underneath, it doesn't look too good. Can the effect from the vehicle be removed?

Did no one tell you that "not" jokes just aren't funny, and that bad attitudes towards people that are trying to offer help and support is ignorant and arrogant. Your attitude stinks, you are obviously a bad ambassador for Americans! You need to heed advice when offered and you need to post suggestions in the suggestion thread. Grow up, get a grip and sort your attitude towards community members out! Otherwise, please refrain from posting shit!! -

@StalkerGB can you put the dust cover down, it would be better to have it open all the time than to try to animate it opening on the first shot? But other than that that animated bolt is pure porn. ---------- Post added at 10:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:38 PM ---------- What do you need on fighting patrol that you couldn't fit into 58 pattern webbing? BTW you had some boring exercises! -

Bergans would be too much of a reminder of those bad times at Sennybridge. Partol sacks fine but bergans...our survey says X X X -
Cant get the M203 to work with this mod, maybe i'm missing something but the grenades just don't seem to be in the weapon. Also you can't stop dragging someone once you've started using the original first aid module. Some of the anims are very jerky, but don't know why. A good start but that WIP for you.
