I don't know if it's just because he's playing on arcade, but wow... They've really done the unthinkable... They've made it so that you're healed and your dead team mates respawn after checkpoints. Utterly laughable.

How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??
Zipper5 replied to mattyh1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
*Facepalm* How do people like you find your way on to forums anyways? Or even your internet browser. Simple answer: they are fixing it. -
Can't believe it's been 8 years already... R.I.P.

Wow, you can never have a nice little memorial topic on the internet I guess. Every jackass has to turn it into some political flame war, completely disregarding the original intent of remembering the innocent victims of a horrible crime. Because of that, and because the 11th has come and gone, can a moderator close this please? I find that people are just displaying outright disrespect and are turning it into something that should be in the politics thread.

Well, you're going to have a severe lack of interest in this thread then if that's how it's meant to be. Not many people from India play OFP/ArmA/ArmA II as far as I am aware. Hm, well, could it be that Osama bin Ladin is suspected to be in hiding within Pakistan? The US would be providing money and weapons to the Pakistani military in order for them to combat the Taliban in their country, as Pakistan has denied the US entry into their country for a long time now, as far as I know. As far as I know, in the 60s and 70s, the US wasn't doing this. So I doubt they were the reason that Indian soldiers lost their lives in those two dates you pointed out. Nowadays, Pakistan is apparently fighting the Taliban, so the US is happy to give them money and weapons. But, alas, this is not the appropriate thread for such discussion. Apologies to the moderators.

Heh, he was agreeing with what I said. He just used a confusing double negative. I must admit, I thought he was disagreeing with me when I first read it. :p

To quote what has been said many times. OFP was 2001. This is 2009. :butbut:

Will BI still release betas like they used to?
Zipper5 replied to Tankbuster's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Well, I doubt we'll see the same sort of beta patches that we had in ArmA. At least, not by name. The current beta patches for ArmA II, content wise, are identical to those in ArmA. They both install into a mod folder and both can easily be enabled or disabled, for example. I think we'll just be seeing these beta patches, and then the final patches, since the current beta patches are doing the same job the "official" beta patches for ArmA did. -
My key doesnt work after new patch?
Zipper5 replied to Glory_Hole's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Can't believe you honestly didn't expect your crack to be the problem. Your "lost my CD a while ago" excuse sounds far too fishy to be honest. -
My key doesnt work after new patch?
Zipper5 replied to Glory_Hole's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Or, you could read the rules that you agreed to when you signed up to the forums, perhaps? Could you describe in more detail exactly what the problem is that you're having, since you seem reluctant to lower the image sizes? -
ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead discussion thread
Zipper5 replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It's the usual hype that follows any release of new information, Relemar. But the information released as of yet for OA does have reason to get excited over it, no doubt. -
Could you give us some more information about the error you are getting? Namely, what system specs does your PC have? I.E. processor, graphics card, RAM, operating system, etc.

Unfortunately, this is a known save game bug in which the save game gets corrupted and cannot be loaded by ArmA II. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there isn't any working way to fix it unless you have more than one save game. I would recommend playing on Regular but modifying the difficulty settings to Veteran or Expert settings, depending on what you play on. That way, you can have unlimited save games, so when one is corrupted, you just load one of the others and make up for lost progress. Better than starting the mission all over again. Of course, you could just use the endmission cheat if you aren't interested in playing through the mission again.

ROFL. "If you're taking a lot of fire there are Armored Assault Vehicles. You know, the ones that stormed the beach at Normandy on D-Day." I don't think they had those in WWII, Mark. :j:

ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
Zipper5 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Beta patches have already fixed that issue. -
The beta patches don't use a DVD check. I don't know if that is indicative of it being removed for future patches, or is not there because it makes it easier to test them. Or both.

You can't really compare OFP's scenario to DR's so far. The Soviets in OFP weren't actually acting on behalf of Moscow, but on behalf of their rogue General. So the term flashpoint applied appropriately to that. And yes, I do find that video strange. It's like a screwed up History lesson. Wouldn't know that it's a trailer for what is supposed to be a military simulator. Edit: Now I just realized why I had the reaction I did to that video. It's almost identical to the cutscenes that Treyarch did for COD:WaW. Jesus, Codemasters must be running out of ideas or something...

Awesome work! Now we just need an island that doesn't require 2GB worth of files to get working in ArmA II, heh.

Multiplayer Mission with custom Addons
Zipper5 replied to 4recoil's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Yes, the clients will need the same addons. ArmA II downloads the mission files automatically, but it does not do the same for addons. -
All hope that DR will be decent died with that video, for me. 'Tis a sad fact. :butbut:

ubermachtig presents - Transport Inbound
Zipper5 replied to ubermachtig's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
That would be because he didn't include the island name at the end of the file name. I don't know what island it's meant to be on, but change it to either: Transport.Inbound.1.1.Chernarus.pbo OR Transport.Inbound.1.1.Utes.pbo Note to the maker: do not use . in the mission names. It tends to cause issues. Use - and _ instead. -
Have Codemasters even confirmed MP other than coop? I haven't seen it and/or can't remember it. Though I do remember the MP player limits, another weak area. Nah, I don't. They're such a pointless requirement.
-
Wow, that looks... Like the generic FPS website. :butbut: Pre-renders ftl.
-
There's speculation that we won't even be getting one, due to Codemasters removing most, if not all statements about a demo for the game.
