There are much more important things to be fixed than performance. For me, I get exactly the performance I need to enjoy a game like ArmA II. Only games that I need a high framerate for are twitch FPS games like MW2 and BC2. ArmA II is fine at 20 to 60 FPS.

I must say, the new update looks a lot better. Looking forward to it.
-
It doesn't change enough from v1.05 to break mods or missions, but it has lots of nice other fixes.

One may want to decrease the picture's filesize before a mod finds it... ;) If deleting your arma2.cfg file doesn't work, try reinstalling your drives or, at the very extreme, try a reformat. If all of those don't end up working, then check your graphics card. Unfortunately, it sounds like something may have gone wrong hardware-wise, more than likely with your graphics card. Good luck with it anyways.

Village Sweep mission in 1.05 update completed anyone?
Zipper5 replied to CptHarris.aus's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
I've completed it. Many times. If I recall correctly, I ordered my armor to the northern and southern areas of the town and occasionally gave them waypoints, while using the infantry to sweep the town. Takes me really only about 10 to 20 minutes to complete. Have yet to play it and it didn't complete. -
Finally, it's about time...

No, the last patch came out on the 2nd of January, 2010. v1.05.63826. Because, personally, I consider BIS' beta patches to be real patches considering how much they fix the game and how much (99% of the time) they don't break the game.

I just hope it's not like Queen's Gambit... :butbut: I actually preferred the default ArmA campaign over Royal Flush... That's bad...

I think that nothing can sum up this whole issue better than... Nice......

It's also found it's way to the DR forums. :D Edit: Oh, he's removed the link to my post now. Oh well.

Just thought this would be a funny thing to share: I just found it randomly when doing a search on Google. Print screened, cropped, uploaded, posted. :D

I made this quite a while ago now: Yeah, no difference.

Well guys, it's that time again. Here's some more teaser images from the (now finalized) first mission of the campaign: Welcoming upon arrival. A conversation between friends. Becoming acquainted. The campaign itself is progressing quite nicely. As you can see, I've learned how to use the new conversation system in ArmA II, so the campaign will be using it. I've also got the basic structures down of the first 6 missions already. The campaign may not actually be a mini-campaign anymore, as I can quite clearly see it going up to 10 or perhaps more missions. I'll let you know if I have any other significant updates to give you. ;)

Will you buy Arma 3 if they will ever release one?
Zipper5 replied to goldkid80's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Nope. I completed every mission without having to use the cheats on my first playthrough. Granted I did have slowdown in the major cities FPS-wise, as did everyone until that was fixed, but performance was what I had expected overall. I never encountered any gamebreaking bugs until I played through the campaign on my 4th or 5th time, and that was with the beta patches changing things so often. But perhaps I'm of the right mind-set to know enough about how the game works to not try and break it, like some people do and then complain about it. I know that if by doing something it may break it so I stay clear of that. Perhaps others don't. The campaign itself never felt broken to me, it just didn't feel engaging enough once I got into the Warfare stages. :( -
Agreed. But look at how moving it also moves the whole friggen HUD as well. The Award-Winning EGO Engine, everybody.
-
Very, very impressive. Never seen anything of such high... Production value. Did they actually have a budget for this or was it done completely without money? If so, then holy crap is that awesome.
-
Thar you go. ;)

Aren't goats already naked 100% of the time? My god, this discussion is the very definition of offtopic... :butbut: Edit: Jesus. I hate to say it, but if Templar had been the only one working on DR it would perhaps have been a decent game: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/operation-flashpoint-dragon-rising-game-pc-113/407675-finally-free-look-mouse.html Can't believe the insane amount of workarounds needed to get it to work, though... The award-winning EGO engine at its finest...

What do you expect BIS to do? They can ban them, but then they can find a way to be unbanned. They're hackers. I'm surprised people think that there's easy ways to stop them. There isn't. They get around almost every form of anti-piracy and anti-hacking software available. The only thing I've yet to see a hacker... hack, is FADE (and that's an ingenious system). So either find a private server, or play on servers that allow no mods at all. Best way to stop them. And the names are censored to prevent them from getting publicity. Most of the known cheating and hacking groups have their names censored on this forum, and all of the known members of them have been permanently banned.

Interesting video, BloodnGuts. Nice to see you're back. Aren't a couple of those pictures yours from ArmA? And some of them don't have Apaches in them, they have Blackhawks or Cobras. But I'm just nitpicking. :p

ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead discussion thread
Zipper5 replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
All of that for an expansion... Yes, some of you seem to forget that this is an expansion, not an entirely new game. -
Is this award winning campaign available in English? СВОБОД
Zipper5 replied to jpinard's topic in ARMA - USER MISSIONS
Yes, it's only for ArmA. -
error shader model 2 not supported any more
Zipper5 replied to TH3_T3ST_SUBJ3CT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
That was my old laptop before I got my desktop. It could barely run ArmA on close-to-lowest settings. I'd hate to see what would happen to it if I ran ArmA II on it... -
Just got the new patch and tested it out. It's amazing the difference it's made in terms of performance. That's one of the things that was stopping me from liking the game so much, but now... Wow.

Yes, we're getting somewhere! http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/not-for-dragon-rising-anyway
