  1. Question for Mr . Wolle. I know the status at the moment refecting the Release Date of Arrowhead is described as "Release when Ready." Would you be kind enough, to let us have a clue,.. whether it is closer to 2009 or 2010? I somehow, somewhere was led to believe, that it was always Bohemia's masterplan to upstage the release of OFP-DR. Hence the name 'Operation' in the full name of Operation Arrowhead. I think maybe the status of "Release when Ready" is more of an anticipation for whether Dragon Rising may incure more delays. I believe bIS do not want to shoot all their load before the battle even begins. Would I be mistaken in making any of these assumptions?
  2. has the site got it wrong? 2010 release date it says! omg. hope it's wrong.

ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead discussion thread

I've just heard that 'Operation Arrowhead' can be played alone, which does not need Arma2 installed. Is this true?

Interesting, I was pretty sure DR would be alot less resource hungry compared to Arma2, due to its low textures. DR will never look as good as Arma2 or even Arma1 but if it plays well, with realistic bullet drop, penetration and convincing A.I , then it might be a very good game.

They are wearing Flir goggles, looking through a acog scope. Flir is not built into the acog. ---------- Post added at 05:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:54 PM ---------- I've been a massive supporter of Bohemia but Arma2 have left me with a sour taste in the mouth with it's serious lack in optimization. Will definately be demo'ing OFP.DR to see how smooth the game runs. Another thing I've noticed is the low quality in texture in DR which I believe will help the game run smoother without all the texture lag and render problems that ARMA2 engine consist. Arma2 biggest mistake was falling into the trap of graphic whores. They have upped the Texture, especially on the ground, buildings, vehicles etc which I felt was already more than adaquate in Arma1. Their implementation of Bump Map texturing have taken it's toll on the already stretched out engine. Another mistake in Arma2 was to not make the map into an island like Arma1, that way they could have avoided the dreaded continuous land at the north and west.
  7. mine said that too but don;t worry it should still be installed.
  8. I have an Ati card, the new patch just gives me a new option box that says Antialiasing but disabled,. these no drop down option to turn it on. weird.
  9. yeah I usually have it on 4000m and 2000m when I play online. But both times i still see little bloom at the far distance. It's just not as clear as Arma1 was. I have post processing turned off.
  10. sorry typo. dunno why i came out with that,. ive checked its set more like 2000m haha.
  11. I don't know if it's just me but even after 1.02 patch I still notice there is little bit of bloom left when you look to the distance. You see this if you look down a magnified scope. Sniper rifle or Acog. This was not there in Arma1. I have my view distance set at 2000m and post processing disabled and no anti aliasing. Anyone see there is still bit of bloom left? Wonder if the devs know about this and if they will get rid of it.

Are there exploding barrels in Arma2?

why dont you stop your whining, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen, girly man.

Good bye to the consoles! WOW

Grow up and stop whining, attention seeking creep. Just buy the game for your pc and play it untill the xbox360 version comes out, then when it does come out buy it for the xbox360 and play it. Not rocket science is it? Don't come back giving us crap about not being able to afford both, then just buy one or the other. I'd like to own a Ferrari but i can't afford it. Life's not fair deal with it. You could always go back to codemasters forum and cream over DragonRising, i'm sure they got a great console game just for you.
