    Bye Bye Old BI Forum

    This has been a good place for OFP and lately ArmA discussion monitoring. I'm just wondering how did I take so long time to register here: I was waiting OFP to be released quite some time and when the demo and finally the release came, my life just changed totally. Dunno why it took until November for me to register here. Anyways, while I'm not a big fan of the vbulletin, I'm looking forward to the new forums as I know from experience that in due time I'll get comfortable with it and thing are getting back to a business as usual. Hopefully the new forum can serve the huge load of people without any problems. Thanks for hosting the forum BIS, much appreciated. Looking forward for the next 7 years of forum new posts hammering

    Doesn't ACE place dta\ACE\ dir and ACEIP dta\userconfig\something for the configs or are these really outdated method's I had in place?

    I couldn't get it to find the userconfig, I had to replace the line in DFS_cartridges_core.sqf with this one:<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">#include "\dta\userconfig\DFS_cartridges\DFS_performance.hpp" Am I wrong? Okay I'll send you the current ammo classnames, that is a good start.

    I don't know, but I'm sure Sanctuary will come to your rescue and explains how the animation stuff works, just wait a bit (perhaps you can PM him if he misses this topic).

    It was stated in the readme, seen in the first post also. Wow, cool Do you know anyone who would be willing to help me retexture this? Even if some skilled PS elite would try to teach me how to do it myself, it would be appreciated also. Sure Vilas, if you give me the model I'll use it and add you into credits for that weapon. Would be great. Please PM me for the details.

    That couldn't be easier... in the shadow LOD choose the proxy selections, then do delete for the selections with right mouse click and delete, then delete them from the model with DEL key. Very easy

    As a user its quite easy and fun to learn by just playing it (play my demo missions heh-heh, hmm). But then when you start to create your own missions, well there is of course the manual... but I'd say take a look at some existing CEX missions and just change units locations/types without much touching description.ext and you'll get started. When you want more custom stuff, when you need to edit the description.ext which is your standard OFP/ArmA config.cpp style stuff with classes. I'm willing to help tweak your description.ext if you run into any problems.

    This is very welcome, we have real need for air defence units to shoot those various air vehicles from the skies. Very good. Woodland suitable camo and desert scheme would be great. Is it time consuming to create desert texture out of woodland, or is it just few minutes in photoshop playing around with RGB values? I like this attitude I would say don't worry too much about these fancy things right now, get it modeled, get it ingame and most people will be pleased. Oh and scared to fly I can animate it for you. Send me a PM here when you have model ready. Thats very good. However I'm not sure if you sound like "it must stay under..." as there is no problem having more polys in first LOD if the lower res LODs are properly modeled which end the last at <100 polys.

    What the last few posters have said, I agree... please drop many (if not all) of the weapon pack requirements. Seems the mood here is that you can even go with BIS weapons until you create nice and compact weapon pack for SAS units.

    *cough* did you say one MILLION and seven hundred THOUSAND objects? I'm asking because I did some experimenting back in the early ArmA wrp editing days and when reaching about 1,3million objects on the map it started to stutter so much I flagged it as unplayble and not suitable for ArmA. Hmm I need to go back and test some more if you have this many objects and haven't even yet added everything. Very very interesting. Oh and the screenshots, yes the terrain looks very nice. Looks like a good job again.

    Hi Q. I don't think its the destruction parts. I had a mission on desert terrain where I had 9 empty AH64 helos aligned in a airbase, when I was soldier standing nearby and watching AWAY from the helos my framerates were normal, when I turned to FACE the helos, framerates came down to a "choppy" level. As said, helos were unmanned I believe 3 of each role models, totalling to 9 helos. I don't think it can be any script issue as FPS jumped up and down when looking away and into the helos. To HWM team; Other than this issue and perhaps bit mysterious MFD showing up, the helos and the big picture is great. I'm really enjoying flying the apache and gunning down OPFOR. Good job.

    Same has been the Ramp Start in Falcon for years. Nothing new there. . Btw, how many guys here comprehend how large those F4 theaters are? For example this: Its all real world DEM data, real distances and the works.

    Screenshot every permission post? Like Permissions_Gnat.jpg Permissions_SnakeMan.jpg Placed on relative dirs where your project are located, or even add it like "Permissions_AddonName_Author.jpg" style. Works nicely. A PM from author granting you permission is useless, who can you show it in direct form from your inbox? Nobody. A screenshot you can show to everyone.

    You asked if you can arrange someone to retexture VTE B52 for modern day camo/coloring, I said yes if you can find some. I did not grant you permissions to release it or to do anything beyond getting someone to retexture it. However! If there is demand, I can do good PMC release out of it so it can be used without any addon requirements (with perhaps exception of XEH). I just wanted to clear that up. Honestly, as I've been looking for texturer for Vietnam: The Experience since ages and haven't found one, didn't really believe you can do it either.

    Okay... what has that got to do with the text you quoted? Well the taliban units were just released (now, not years ago), are you saying all LoBo releases are done the way the first taliban version or what is your point in all this? Anyways the new taliban version looks pretty good, so no need to go back and forth with the issue that has been resolved.
