    Back? what do you mean back? :) VTE was for OFP -> VTE OFP homepage. VTE was for Armed Assault -> VTE ArmA homepage. VTE is for ArmA 2 -> VTE ArmA 2 homepage. VTE has been and always will be. We have to have Vietnam War mod. Btw check out Vietnam: The Experience - Multiplayer Event, Friday Oct 19th, 20:00 UTC for some excellent MP game play, you wont be disappointed.
  2. Things are looking good for the next Friday's multiplayer event, already few guys have said on MP sidechat's that they are going to show up. We have been tweaking our latest mission which works really great and we are having tons of fun playing it. If anyone has any requests for missions types, defend? attack? vehicle missions? etc, just let me know. Looking forward to seeing many players to join on Friday Oct 19th. I will be on the server before the event starts so if there is someone who wants to join earlier, you're welcome.

    I noticed tiny gaps when porting ArmA terrain to use from arma to arma2 roads. I haven't done exhaustive investigating why this happens. BTW this has nothing to do with Road Painter.

  9. For 1.0 LOD no, but you must create lower resolution LODs too. Check out Low Resolution LOD guide, it explains how to setup the LODs.
  10. In generally there is two big steps next for you to make it work in-game. First is to create Geometry so units cannot pass through it and Geometry-Fire so bullets/shells/etc cannot pass through it. Second is lower resolution LOD's so your nice model don't bring engine into its knees. Since you're using modo I suggest Modo 302 Polygon Reducer tutorial page. Heh never mind that its for 302 and otherwise outdated stuff, but at least you get the idea how to proceed :) Those are the two game play effecting features you must add before bringing it in-game.
  11. PMC is the oldest OFP/ArmA/ArmA2 group, we have seen and done it all. We started with OFP Demo back in summer of 2001. Our web site is PMC Tactical which hosts all our addons, mods, missions, utils and forum. We have also PMC Editing Wiki where you can find tutorials, guides and other editing information. If there is something you can't find in our wiki, let us know and we'll try to add it. Our ArmA 2 multiplayer dedicated server is running 24hrs a day and we host Vietnam: The Experience mod there. You can find our server in server browser by the name of VIETNAM: The Experience (VTE) on PMC Tactical. Required addons is VTE v1.4 and latest Community Base Addons (CBA). In our server we host all kinds of missions but they are mostly COOP type, we would like to play more PvP missions too but most of the time there is so few players that decent missions can't be achieved. Everyone is welcome to join our server, we would be happy to play with you.

    First of all, thank you all for commenting, nice to get some feedback at least sometime, appreciated guys. Here is couple of generic answers for repeated questions, then below is the more specific answers. There are no villages, cities or populated places because this is wilderness terrain, its beyond the scope of this terrain to have such locations present. It was said earlier that there are tons (basically all, heh) user made terrains which include all the populated places anyone could want. Also this terrain wasn't supposed to even exist. This was a spinoff from another terrain that initially wasn't planned for release. So its kind of luck that we have this terrain available now, it could have been just one dir amongst many in my terrain developing directory :) I have the source files for this and I'm more than glad to give them out to anyone if someone wants to make "third spinoff" to place some populated areas and tweak it to their liking, of course as mentioned you cannot MOVE objects in the far right side of the terrain due visitor 3 bug. Anyways, this terrain is "as is" and there are no further plans for it. 40km x 40km Not at all, I've done more Vietnam Jungle than desert terrains, so I won't agree that large terrains are mostly desert, perhaps it feels that way because ArmA 2 Takistan is so popular right now. I coded my own command line utility to place objects randomly (no GUI). There is also tons of other methods to place objects without Visitor 3, like using WrpTool and export objects from the WRP etc. Nobody places forests one object at the time. You got your answer now, we have always been open about anything, check our PMC Editing Wiki and you'll find tons of information which we have made available to help anyone interested of editing etc. Wouldn't even have to be magic, but user friendly and working replacement for visitor 3 would be great.

    Vietnam: The Experience multiplayer is ON again :D For two days now we have been playing and the server runs good. So join us. Server name: VIETNAM: The Experience (VTE) on PMC Tactical You need latest VTE v1.4 + XEH/CBA. When we last time played we used the old(?) XEH v0.7.6 but now I believe we use full CBA from dev-heaven page which is v0.8.3. Sorry but I'm confused as you are regarding CBA/XEH stuff :o If you download VTE from http or torrent and build mod dir manually, you need to get the xeh/cba thing to work, if you use Play With Six, then all you need to do is Install/Upgrade VTE and click Join.     Forget about the game, I was talking about the BIS tools v2.5.1 - How to install BIS tools and it might help. Also you need to setup Build Environment of course.
