That is normal behaviour and the same as in OFP.

Mousebutton 5 is not supported by Arma (same as OFP), which makes it the perfect push-to-talk button for Ventrilo. But you can assign that button to a keyboard-key in Setpoint.

Moving to A:TS You have two choices here. In the hotkeys-pane in the TIR software you can remove the trap for the keys individually. This means F12 : re-center (default) will function as both F12 in-game and re-center your TIR at the same time. Your other option is to re-map F12 to something else in your TIR software.
