  1. Try reading the first post on the first page of this thread
  2. I belive the reason for DLC is to fund the continued support (patches) for said gameplay issues. BI support their games better than any other company i know of :)
  3. Im also having problems with Arma2 CO + BAF crashing to desktop but still running in taskmanager. If i switch back to Arma2 i can hear the sound but see only my desktop, pressing esc switches sound on/off (ingame pause menu) and pressing lmb i hear the gun firing so it (arma2) is running just fine but without picture. I have to end it in taskmanager. RPT file shows nothing out of the ordinary. Intel i7 930 6Gb RAM HD5870 Vapor-X Win7 64

    ArmA 2 Lightraytracing

Here is an example of Wolfenstein raytraced in a intel demo:
  5. I recall my keymapping changing from Swedish (im Swedish) to English when alt-tabing in Arma2+OA (retail discs). @Dr. Horrible: Mind your language, it will not impress anyone.

    I bought Combined Operations

Try posting in the troubleshooting part of the forum, might get more help there :)
  7. Use satchel charges, if you dont have any look for them in the crates ;)
  8. The same thing happens if you place a jet (as flying) in the editor with a waypoint near your "target", you fire the laserdesignator and the jet will make a pass over the target, turn around and release a bomb on the second run. This is very irritating if you have a target with AA close by, as it (the jet) slows down and descends at the first pass and often gets shot down before turning for its ingress.
  9. That would be very welcome, it seems like an easy thing to add. Post it in the "Suggestions" part of the forum :)

    Flying in ArmA 2

Flaps are used to generate more lift at slower speed, at the same time they generate drag witch slows you down. So for take off dont use flaps/only use one step down. For landing use full flaps to reduce speed/generate more lift at slow speed. An other benefit off using flaps at landing is that you can keep the nose down almost horizontal with the ground, makes it easier to see the runway :)

    Is 16:10 the way forward?

On a side by side comparison of the (16:10) 24" iMac and the (16:9) 27" iMac the panel seems to have near exact the same HEIGHT, but the 27" is wider. So it seems a 27" is the logical step if upgrading from a (24") 16:10 to a bigger 16:9.
  17. If you google "Display Driver Stopped Responding And Has Recovered" you will find ALOT of people with this problem on a variety of hardware and under various circumstances, though i did not find anyone playing Arma.
  18. Hi and welcome to this great community and the godness called Arma2. Hopefully more people will realize that they are practically playing the same game over and over when buying the shallow "other" games ;), and that developers are forced to start making quality games again.
  19. ACM = Ambient Combat Module. Read all about it and how it works in this thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=73393 :)
  20. "Ambient combat module" will do that for you, its been in Arma2 since day one.

    civillian children

The idea of children being hurt/used/killed is not tolerated by any (modern) goverment or their citizens. Not in real life and not in outspoken fantasies and not simulated in a game. This is just a fact and having "children" in a game where they can be "killed" is just asking for trouble. The fact that children do get killed in wars is not relevant (its just sad). I do understand what OP is saying, it can make for some interresting senarios but far from everybody is as mature about it. Eventually someone will do that youtube clip with children being strafed by a A10. It only takes one person to do it and one person to see it and Arma/BI will have the whole world coming down on them.
  22. Thanks ceeeb, thats exactly my problem. Hope it gets solved in a future patch.
  23. When looking thru some optics the object shadows are almost black (shadows from trees especialy). Russian "green dot" optics and helicopter windows seems worst. Anyone else have this problem? Its been this way since 1.0 and still is in beta 59857. Win7 64 HD4870 512 (cat 9.9) E8400 @3.0 4GB Ram
  24. Another way of doing it in the editor is to: 1. Put a east unit as leader of a west group. 2. In above east unit properties set "Probability of presence" slider to lowest. This will spawn the group as east but the leader will not spawn. So you will have a east group with west units. Hope that makes sence :)
  25. Amazing! With the latest beta i can up the viewdistance from 1800 to 3000, up terrain detail from normal to high and still have much better performance overall. Most obvious when going into the big towns. Before Chernogorsk was lagging and textures was constantly changing, now its silk smooth. Also before my hd was constantly thrashing when in the big towns, now its a kind of "smoother" hd activity going on but no lagging or texture switching. I can even fly a heli into Chernogorsk without stutters and texture problems. If this is any indication of 1.05 i cant wait!
