ARMA 2: OA beta build 103718 (1.62 MP compatible build, post 1.62 release)
NoRailgunner replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
As gunner one should be able to read the range in the optics and use PgUp/PgDwn to adjust the range - some vehicles are just missing the rangefinder + manual range selection (PgUp/PgDwn). Except for those vehicles which are too old or didn't got an rangefinder/FCS upgrade. I'm still curious why OPFOR tanks (eg Takistani) can detect lock-on from Apache (Hellfire) and deploy smokescreens - this should be only working for the T-90 ingame (incl. jamming the laser/misleading the missile). It would be really great if BIS can make only remote controlled weapon stations useable from the inside of vehicles and that the commander (player/AI) can turn out and use his machinegun without automatically turning the AI gunner/driver out. Another old issue: if the player operating as gunner in a technical got hit + wounded the AI can't get him out of this place = player is stuck in pain animation. :( -
German Armed Forces WIP Thread
NoRailgunner replied to GalComT's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Doubt that there will be a "GAF big/Final" (incl. units etc) release for A2OA. GalComT got caught by A3/BIS headhunters and now he has to work hard deep down in BIS dungeons to get free and see the sun again! There is no time + no permission for finishing his own A2OA project GAF & stuff - he can only toy around with the A3 Alpha..... -
Young NK leader has to show from time to time that he is strong and his power is glorious. Problem is just how NK citizens have to deal with it's regime, hopefully there wont be another Arduous March and people will still get the food and humanitarian aid they need.

ARMA 2: OA beta build 103718 (1.62 MP compatible build, post 1.62 release)
NoRailgunner replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Hamsters@BIS are hungry = they nomnom'd this betabuild :D -
Did you plan to release a "final" for A2OA before rushing into the Alphaverse of A3?
-
Yeah sure maybe from a old WW2 fanboy/man's view everything in IF looks brighter.... answers are given, case closed. Each to his own addictions and decisions. :)
-
Just look at what the OP has asked: Answer: no, unless someone from publisher/dev is doing a stunt trying to get a bit more ca$h. Answer: yes, devs/publishers have pulled all support and moved on to new projects. Conclusion: If you are not a diehard WW2 fan and don't like buggy + abandoned game projects - stay away or wait until you can grab IF for a few bucks. Your money won't help or do any magic to IF.

What is the best Antivirus and Firewall in 2013
NoRailgunner replied to CoSm1c_gAm3r's topic in OFFTOPIC
Security concept has failed if someone can download/upload and share in a company's network without a check/confirmation. Agree that AV software can help to prevent spreading infections but in the end its PEBKAC. Of course college students would be raging and bitching if someone would make their network really secure.... on the other hand a college network isn't exactly comparable to a network of a working company. Guess the OP was just searching for the AV/FW with the most stars, points and highest rating! Now which blog/magazine/feeling can be trusted more?? ;) -
Cold War Rearmed² : Demo 4
NoRailgunner replied to W0lle's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
If W0lle is in a hurry/rushing around he may have something mixed up.... files in the R1 seem to be rather old = 09/2012. Guess he needs much better coffee or tea so he can double-check all the CWR2 things before release. ;) :D -
What is the best Antivirus and Firewall in 2013
NoRailgunner replied to CoSm1c_gAm3r's topic in OFFTOPIC
Isn't it that all those antivirus/firewall stuff is a bit of snake oil + faithful thinking? Most new threats are discovered only after they have infected systems but not before. How much are those AV statistics are worth if they can be "faked" one or another way? How many false positives, security and calling home/collecting data issues aren't listed/public?? Guess many people just like to switch of their brain just to feel good clicking through the internet because they got a "magic" AV/firewall shield. -
[SP CAMP] War and Peacekeepers Chapter 1: WAR!
NoRailgunner replied to texkaz's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Hey TexKaz you could use Gnat's An-72 Coaler instead of this ripped addon from Sarmat. Guess footmunch + Gnat would be happy too to see the Coaler up in action... :) -
Multi-Session Operations v4.5 released
NoRailgunner replied to highhead's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Guess its better to get a working download link for 4.6 here on the first page and on devheaven - as for now people can download 4.55 on these pages but missing the link for the final MSO version 4.6. ;) -
ARMA 2: OA beta build 103419 (1.62 MP compatible build, post 1.62 release)
NoRailgunner replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Something is delaying or stopping AI action + movement. Observed an AI vehicle gunner of an HMMWV not reacting on bullet impacts on his vehicle and only following orders by his AI teamleader with a long delay. -
Search a little more and don't trust all too much on Hollywood, patriotic speeches and those military "experts" from the US media. Just do a search and have a look at who is the biggest foreign US debt holder: http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txt North Korea is imo just sabber-rattling like years and decades before. The question is still how to get North Korean people to fight their system? It's not that they can do all + demonstrate freely or even fight against their leadership that easily.... If one cut's the supplies fully out - those in power will be able to survive the time of the food blockade better than those who are already starving or lacking any support.
-
Think that if (big IF!) North Korean leadership/military going to attack South Korea it will be more of an conventional warfare than an asymetrical. Btw one of the largest holders of US debt/Treasury securities is China - just something over $1 trillion. Of course for simple minded (like those *insertcountry here* strong!!! guys) its easy to paint the world just white and black and don't even try to look behind the curtains....

Samaels Table - small addon made by my 6 year old son
NoRailgunner replied to [frl]myke's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Good start + congratulations Samael! Now we need chairs and somthing new around and maybe on the table (eastereggs?)... btw Samael could you ask your daddy for an last + final update of his F-16's and weapon/missile pack? Would be bad if he teaches you to leave a job unfinished and undone.... ;) :D -
Wow four US flag patches on one guy - is this somekind of a hint for unit "upgrade" like protection level or patriotic power-up's?? This "Irish" can jump up to the second floor pretty fast and high or does he have some kind of hidden boosters in his shoes? Guess that the new Rise of the Triads could turn out to be a greater fun shooter beside all those CoD'ish shooter series.

LENR "Cold Fusion" Pons and Fleischman got it right sort of say NASA MIT Stanford etc
NoRailgunner replied to walker's topic in OFFTOPIC
So where is the irrefutable, reproducible proof that it will work? Just because Brazil's state oil company Petrobras has launched an auction to sell its interest in Nigerian oil fields makes LERN go real?? Just some lines from reuters -
ARMA 2: OA beta build 103419 (1.62 MP compatible build, post 1.62 release)
NoRailgunner replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
New bug: AI is freezing in motion (but still able to talk) after certain time. Observed it also with mission "Hike in the Hills" (using default A2OA): after all tasks are done and while the US team was driving away Takistani civilians were frozen and couldn't walk anymore. Also found this is arma2oa.rpt -
Iran intends to sue over "unrealistic portrayal"!
NoRailgunner replied to Mattar_Tharkari's topic in OFFTOPIC
What's the latest status on Iran going to sue over "unrealistic portrayal"? Did those unhappy officials found out that such an action can/will backfire on them?? Or was it just another kind of sabber-rattling against US? -
ARMA 2: OA beta build 102936 (1.62 MP compatible build, post 1.62 release)
NoRailgunner replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
observed: AI sliding over ground/terrain eg AI medic sliding to wounded soldier in SP01 "Hike in the Hills" - expected: walking/running AI. # observed: flickering dead units over their own dead body - expected: dead units stay down/low and aren't visible as "ghosts". -
Getting CTD's with SFP islands and vehicles - imo a bad move to release SFP in this stage as final and run away just because of the A3 Alpha.

Cold War Rearmed² : Demo 4
NoRailgunner replied to W0lle's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Found some little buggy's: SP03 "Bomberman" - calling Bravo/Charlie shows in sidechat in SP06 "Cleansweep I" after all is clean and sitting in the Blackhawk player falls down to death - mission doesn't end. rpt shows other rpt entry's: and btw W0lle you gave up and became an Steamfan - just for the forum medals? Maybe you are just getting too old for the rebellz and resistance.... ;) -
Vehicles should be faster off road and in turns.
NoRailgunner replied to JuggernautOfWar's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Well there is a higher percentage of damaging your car if you drive without care through unknown terrain at high(er) speed. Btw how do you know that there are no bumps or holes in the ground on farmland? What about quicksand or shifting quick-sand in the desert? It's usually not the car who speeds up or down - it's the driver who may don't want get stuck somewhere and later has to pay the price for his need for speed. Something like broken axle, gearbox damage or overheated cooler could be nice to have but I guess that would be to much for casual gamers. -
Thief 4: Yet another console port turd
NoRailgunner replied to jblackrupert's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Thief: The Dark Project was the best of at times and influenced later games in the genre. Sadly many reincarnations seem to be just in favor of the insta-action crowd incl. auto-regenaration/heal, aimbots and x-ray vision (aka wallhack).
