Not possible at the moment with current heliroute version. The problem overshooting the target position is "bis piloting" related.
Solar, what you need to do is to put interface size in Normal
You might try to add a new route position close to the real last one, so that the might slow down a bit already before going for the last one, and has not time enough to get too much speed meanwhile.
