Holy cow i lllllllloved that game when it was released! Might even reinstall that nasty origin bloatware again just to get my hands on it. In your example? Damn expensive ketchup! :D As for the current DLC situation: it buys you the absence of (i guess) 20 Lines of config & script mumbo jumbo that disables stuff for non payers. I agree it´s all strange. But i never like changes. I also agree when people say that we´ve come a long way since "6$ horse armor dlc" which gave you a whooping 60kb download. Can´t say i liked the old "smudge texture" approach any better, as i simply didn´t use the stuff then, which contradicts the stuff being there in the first place. edit @ thread title: It´s gonna be a frickin skycrane and a chinook right? I don´t see me needing this, can enjoy slingloads and new FM with current choppers, as is. Now if anyone loves those two features to a degree where he says "I CANNOT LIVE W/O A SKYCRAAANE" and is okay to pay 13€ ... big deal, let ´em have fun with it :)

[Feedback on] -i´ve had terrible problems entering the littlebirds "fire from" position at first, using a remote controled unit. The action menu entry worked okay but it´d always boot me out once i got in. Deactivated all mods, problem persisted, tried again a few times (withouth restarting arma another time), and it suddenly worked *shrugs* -entering a "fire from" position on the littlebird with a Zeus remote-controled unit results in "laggy as hell warping helicopter ride"

As if his CPU downgraded itself when ArmA 3 got updated :rolleyes: sad lol at those answers still being given on these forums.. Bohemia Interactive just love their performance ping-pong, it´s not our computers fault! It´s been proven too many times to be wrong: ArmA1: before patch 1.18 "this game runs shit on every pc" / after patch 1.18 "runs on full settings with 60 fps" ArmA2: 1.00 ran totally good on some pc´s and worse on others, later patches swung that around by 180°, and 1.60 upwards basically made it playable for anybody again ArmA3: first alpha horrible performance all around, people telling me left and right my pc is shit, then some update later performance was good again. (which later of course also got reverted) -

I´m quite sure many programs/games that have problems with alt+tabbing will have the same problems upon losing focus. Ran dual monitors for a long time .. but when i stopped using photoshop regularly the benefits of it just vanished. It´s a fun little experiment nontheless :D -

I gotta be honest, i only signed in to answer because you got "sillygamemode" in your nickname, and i´m wondering: has arma rly gotten that low? If this has become facebook and i havent noticed .. tell me, plz. -
I was quite surprised seeing such a blatant UI copypasta, heck if they only showed that tank paper doll & map i could´ve been tricked into thinking it was a WoT screeny. (sure, it´s effective, well known, and just works, so why not lol) The rest of it looks like a worse "War Thunder ground forces" gameplay and graphic wise, so yeah ... wth we´re they thinking? :D And wheres my Fallout4 New Utah?!!!

Even going back to cold war woudn´t render thermals useless at all - frankly the only reason why thermal was such a hot & pressing issue during the OFP & ArmA years was that it was missing from tanks (same as with FCS), more or less rendering them down to quite mobile catapults! When Bohemia finally stepped in and did thermals, adding them for rifle scopes, is another story.

Was arguing with myself whether or not to post something bavarian, ended up more confused than before. Either we don´t have any real german-wide folklore, or i don´t know any, or we´ve actually got so much of it my brain goes tilt. Let´s do "shitty-burns-math" :( One 2048x2048 unit texture ~2 MB One 2048x2048 normal map ~4 MB add 500 kb for specular maps add another ~6 MB per each individual weapon those units are wielding. That´s a total ~12.5 MB per individual unit (no shared gear whatsoever). Each individual vehicle should be around the same 12 MB altogether mark. Most of you have 8 GB of VRAM at your disposal *calculator noise* so it´d take about 666 (good number!) individual units and/or vehicles being on-screen & drawn in first lod to make your gfx crap out :D I don´t know how much the island streaming costs vram wise, considering they use 100000000000x100000000000 textures lets just assume it needs all of it, so my guess would be that your map starts crapping out much earlier the more addons you´re using. edit: On a serious note, i´m often hearing concerns about adress space, which sounds plausible, since A3 isn´t even nearly 64bit compatible yet (also, im on 32-bit lol). If that was the case, you´re more likely than not slowing down your ArmA as soon as you load anything more than 2 GB as addons (even that might be too much already) :confused:

Played as Zeus yesterday, was my first time, and of course i had to try the lightning strike. I began striking many things with lightning! And then, suddenly, it happened: Cars explode on lightning strike! :confused: Houses getting leveled by one lightning strike! :confused::confused: Bohemia, why? I´m cool with karts and lightning strikes and all that (hate the dayZ object clutter in editor though), but this is way ridicoulous. I reckon 20 years into the future vehicles/structures being struck by lighning should do something amazing like Transformer´ing, FIRING ZHE LAZERS or at least recharging everyones i-pod in the cargo seats! I assume there´s a scripted explosion at the end to get stuff killed, making it in fact work like intended when it kills stuff .... guess i just had to vent my surprise about no lightning rods in the future :p

There´s no better, they´re equally doing whats advertised. #1 changes all stock base ammo values to be more deadly. Any community addon based on the stock values (class inheriting) which doesn´t change the hit value in it´s own config, or uses stock ammunition, will inherit higher damage aswell. If the community addon changed the hit value for it´s own ammo, it won´t inherit the higher damage values. (I don´t use weapon mods, so #1 is perfectly fine for me.) #2 does exactly the same, changing all stock base ammo values, BUT, it also specifically adresses community addon values (e.g. class RH_556x45_B_Mk262 : B_556x45_Ball). Strings attached: -Must be manually updated everytime something new comes out or changes. You´re welcome :D
