No. I can have otherwise smooth gameplay but the mouse will lag. This is a bug which should be fixed. The framerate is certainly in more than playable level, but the mouse lag just ruins it.

The most important features ARMA 2 needs to have
Lepardi replied to Stryder's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
For the sake of gameplay we need proper input. ArmA sucks now because of badly designed input, there's a horrible mouse lag which kills the gameplay. If this still occurs in ArmA 2, I can't be bothered to buy myself a copy of it. -
In other games you won't get mouse lag even if it's like 30 fps, but in arma you do, so it is a bug. A bug that ruins otherwise nice game.
-
There's still same tremendous mouse lag on even just a little lower fps situations. Why, why? Bug #1 in ArmA, very effectively ruins the gameplay.
-
There's currently a horrifying mouse lag in ArmA, unless you have fps near to 100 or so. Even with V-sync disabled. It completely destroys the gameplay - will it be included in ArmA 2 too, or is this planned to be fixed?
-
Flip queue tweak also lowers fps and the effect is very slight. It shouldn't occur at all, in other games even if you have like 25fps you can still control the mouse. And no they haven't fixed it, it is still present in the newest build.
-
Negative, I am not talking about the floating zone. I'm talking about the mouse lag, and that is not a feature. It's dependable on your fps, but in northern sahrani its impossible to reach those high fps's and it feels you have no control over the mouse at all. I can only properly aim in southern sahrani deserts, where the fps is really high.

Well ATI drivers have always worked fine for me using TV-out.

HD 4850 or 4870 is the way to go now, not nvidia. The HD 4850 performs better than the 9800GTX, while costing even less than a 9800GTX. HD 4870 is almost as good as the new GTX280, while costing only half the price, around 230€.

Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced
Lepardi replied to imported_bör's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
They are using EGO engine which is different than the neon engine used on racing games. It's the fps version of the engine. And how do you know it will not be what it is promised to be? Read the article. -

Disable all the unneeded services from even launching, go to start -> run -> msconfig and disable them. -

It says on the article that codemasters have promised the game will live up to these renders. -

Is the weapons and units list what they have already done? There's many missing from the list.

What small details would you like to see?
Lepardi replied to smellyjelly's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
That's already in ArmA. I've been shot down in a cobra, but when it crashed, it just remained a rusty wreck and I could just jump out of the wreck and continue the journey. -
Always, after about 10-60min of play my ArmA freezes. It's just the game, I can alt+tab to windows and close arma.exe process and restart arma, but it always does the same thing. my specs: Asus P5K 8800GTS 640 E6750@3,2ghz 4gb 800mhz Win XP 32-bit Is it fixable?
-
1.08 Yes I have up to date drivers, CPU is overclocked but it does the same without OC'ing. Only special thing is FDF soundmod. I can give it 15 minutes but it's just completely halted. About alt tabbing, I do use it often, but IIRC it does it without alt tabbing. I've noticed significant graphic bugging after alt tabbing though, but it disappears after a few flushes.

That's like the exact opposite I have. It looks too dark, the only time I can see it normal is when I look at my feet in the ground. Even if I look away from the sun it looks more like an evening, even though it is midday. It doesn't help putting the brightness up, everything looks unnatural then, and in dark, small places my colours turn to opposite colours.

sickboy i dont have any troubles whatsoever with 680i chipset. that being said they had some probs with 'em earlier, but BIOS updates solved the it. IMO 780i is now more problematic than 680i , because they're fresh from the owen. regarding the phenomenom, make sure u get B3 stepping, since thats the first stepping that doset have the TLB bug. The 780i is basically same as 680i, there's only a PCI-E 2.0 addition put in a 680i.
-
Would you have got the 3870 for cheaper? It outperforms 8800GTS.
-
If those you are your choices, ATI HD3870 is the best by far, so you really should get it.
-
There isn't even a GPU that is bottlenecked by a 3,2GHz C2D, so it is pefromance spec.
-
Because BIS finally fixed it.
-
If you change your OS to XP, you can expect doubled FPS. And remember to go to nvidia control panel and set Vsync to always off, it's necessary! Setting vsync off might get rid of your fps problems in vista, too. And disable AA while playing Arma.

-Lowplants -FDF soundpack 1.2 -Sharper recoil -Maddmatts effects -Queen's Gambit That's an excellent combination above. Gonna replace FDF soundpack with CSM when it gets released. Works in MP public too.
