    Patch 1.03 Satisfaction Survey

The flight seems the same as 1.02 and the building destruction looks the exact same. Can anybody shed some light on what these actually changed in 1.03?

    Win7

Yeah I have mine set to 8 with no mouse lag. It honestly doesn't seem to change anything for me either way, I get like 8 FPS in Chernogorsk anyway.

Your favourite vehicle in ARMA 2

You obviously are making assumptions. I'm not going to argue, but a standard RPG HEAT or HE round will and can not penetrate an M1A2's armor with TUSK equipped unless they land a very lucky shot. I've seen them bounce off in real life. Here was the scenario: M1A2 with TUSK was moving in after the infantry for support when ab insurgents on a rooftop with an RPG-7 or 8, couldn't tell, fires and hits the M1A2. The rocket hits the TOP of the tank (least armored part FYI), bounces off, and damages the Raytheon. Thats all the damage it did. I'll admit the Raytheon is a very expensive component which tax payers had to pay to replace, but other than that not a scratch. I saw all of this from a FLIR.

Your favourite vehicle in ARMA 2

None of them. They all are damaged way too easily. 3 RPGs to a M1A2 would NOT destroy it NOR disable it.

    Effects Mods?

Very true. I really hope DMwarkwick will get his butt in gear and start developing mods for ArmA II :). I'll have to talk him into it. The main things I want are; 1: What is said in quote, 2: ...forget it, I want a lot of things added or modified for effects.

    Effects Mods?

So you guys are telling me in real life the smoke from a burning vehicle or a destroyed building dissipates that quickly? Just because somebody from the ArmA 1 effects modding scene was involved in the making of the stock smoke effects doesn't mean they are realistic nor perfect. The idea behind the effects of DMarkwick were much better.
  14. This still doesn't explain why we saw those effects for the SU, harrier, etc. Also, why did DM delete all of his posts? CONSPIRACY!

    Nightvision and Stars

Does anybody else get the feeling stars are just beyond the cloud layer in this game when using night vision goggles? They appear much closer with NVGs turned on.

    Nightvision and Stars

yeha maybe it has to do with the new Bloom and HDR. idk
  17. JuggernautOfWar

    Nightvision and Stars

Yes they do indeed. NVG's do not make stars seem like they are ON the horizon though. I realize the game renders the sky texture at the end of view distance, but it should seem like the stars are farther away to be realistic. It seems the BI developers have never looked through NVGs before.

ACE2 is all I can say.
  20. The weapons in this game have different ballistic properties as well as the ammunition. So to answer your title question; yes.

How does one get a pitch black sky?

Turn overcast to maximum and set it to midnight in winter and I guarantee you wont be able to see anything other than artificial lights.
