    Parralax free sights

    Couldn't you just have the "fake crosshair" appear or vanish depending on whether or not you're looking through the sights? The problem is of course that there's no crosshair/dot when you look through them manually but they will at least always point in the right direction when you look through them.

Â I'll spare you the coddling of reiterating myself but I'll leave you with a little tip. Â In order to not sound ignorant, you actually have to learn new things. I know it's about saying what the true sequel is but you know BI had their chance with ArmA LONG before Cm decided to make a OFP. If they would have made a decent product we wouldn't be having this discussion. ArmA is a crappy second rate game and BI have only themselves to blame. The crown was theirs to wear. Crying foul now is like an NFL moving their team to another city and renaming it and the previous city decides to make a new team with the same name (Browns fans will love that one lol) and the team that moved on starts crying THEY are the real deal. I'm sorry I feel no sympathy for Bohemia. ArmA 1 is the moneymaker for ArmA 2. 2's the game we should be looking out for, BIS have not messed their chance up at all.
  3. Lately I've been seeing many people on forums and such that thought that OFP2 was made by the same people as 1 due to this false advertising. Pisses me right off. I'm with you too, BIS. (god dammit that sounds corny)

  7. As a PvP player, I say the "clunky" movement is completely overrated. PvP works really well in ArmA but people have just bashed it into their heads that it doesn't.
  8. Oh man, the new weapon on back thing is incredible! I played for 2 hours straight using different rifles for different situations. Cool.

  10. A little request for the next version, could you guys remove the chat messages when you do things like bandaging or resting weapons? It clutters things up.

    Floating Zone

    Not really. It's extremely useful when you play with crosshairs disabled as you can look through your sights without blocking any view by moving the gun down in a low ready position.

    An SMG is actually too small and weak for ArmA's scale. If you can carry a launcher on your back a second rifle instead shouldn't be hard at all.
  13. That is not a graphical issue, merely the rafters sticking out which is not visible at that angle. Rafters sticking out of the character?! Â Anyone else just pictured a guy on a raft sticking out of a soldier's stomach?
  14. Just a little nit-pick: non-A.C.E things don't appear on the editor unit list which stops you from using other mods with it. For instance, you can't add in weapons or units from other mods (though infantry with backpacks on would look stupid if you'd add an ACE one :P) but interestingly groups do appear in the editor. Other than that this mod is down right incredible. I love pretty much every single little bit about it. (Except the addons thing of course.)
  15. A little less shake than in the trailer, as a perfect amount of shake can work wonders for immersion and your stomach won't feel odd. One thing I really loved was the roll in the trailer. While it was very extreme, it didn't make me sick and it gave you the disorientation that a real roll gives you.
  16. Is it true that there will be 2 different resistance/militia factions? If yes, how will they be equipped?
  17. Protip: In the slot selection you choose a squad. It's just that shitty missions that many play don't use this.

    2 resistance factions?

    I checked some footage and stuff and it looks like it'll be something like this: US(MC) Chernarussian military (RACS style not-so-well-armed force, but with eastern gear) vs Russia Separatist/pro-Russia rebels I wonder if both "resistances" will have selectable relations like resistance and independent in OFP and ArmA 1 or if their relations will be fixed or if they'll even be in the same faction as their allies? I'm of course hoping for the first thing. Anyway, I love the setting as it makes so much more sense than the whole Sahrani deal.

    Working Camouflage

    I gotta agree that soldiers are a bit too visible, though I think it's also a bit of a texturing problem. While default BIS soldiers tend to be rather visible almost anywhere, some custom skins like the IC-ArmA custom woodland camo (both OPFOR and BLUFOR) patterns work very well. It depends on how much the texturer focuses on making the pattern work. I really wonder how visible the marines in ArmA 2 will be as woodland MARPAT is said to be a really effective pattern IRL.

    Weapon Wishlist

    Instead of a primary and secondary slot there should be 2 primary slots which can be used for both "types" of weapon. Also carrying more gear should make you go out of breath faster. As for my weapon wishes, I'd like to see FALs and G3s and other older western rifles as they fit the scenario.

    Turning off auto-report in the difficulty settings fixes that, actually. Many people play ArmA with difficulty settings pushed down and ironically many problems people complain about in ArmA don't exist when you use hard settings. (crosshairs and third person are for wussies anyway)

    Shaky hands & blurred vision

    Ever been really scared to death? When I was a kid I once nearly fell to my death (I'm not gonna tell the whole story, but it involves a totally iced up chairlift). Believe me, I was so damn afraid that I was shaking so mad even my head was shaking around and my eyes were flinching. I imagine bullets going past your head to make you a whole lot scared than that, no matter what training you go through. Of course you shouldn't be able to see, let alone aim right in such a situation. You'd most likely try to leg it for cover.

    No... you're wrong dude. How do you suppose that a blurry screen makes you too scared to fire back all of a sudden? It sure doesn't in Red Orchestra. Do you want the game to decide for you that you can't keep your head cool and get tears in your eyes instead? If you'd get injured for real, there's all the more reason to keep calm and kill your enemy if there's no cover nearby, being unable to function for what you have been training for is embracing your own death. mate, you're taking this very personally. suppression effects seem to be in arma2. and your being arrogant isn't going to change that. You have to know that Celery once whined to the staff in IC saying they're biased because his side wasn't doing too well at the time. Don't mind him, he tends to take things too far.
