    Very nice work as usual gnat. I have modified versions of the effects script for the f16, f22, and even one for a hmmwv. but what was trying to do was figure out how to package it into an addon. Unfortunately with my limited skill I never could get it to work.

    If I knew how I would. Like I said I just figured out how to make easy adjustments to work with other planes. It would be better for me to give the scripts that I have to someone that really could do it some justice. Because it really does work quite well. One thing also its linked to keyboard input, but holding down a key while trying to fly with joystick really is quite difficult. Of course now I got a gamepad that I can map to the kb. This would also make a sweet bundle effects pack with the Flares,and some new sounds.

    its been since april of last year when he last post. it was in mission editting and scripting. under SU34 afterburner. I'm really no scripter, just learning. All I did really was change a cpl numbers for the positions of the effects and slowed down the fuel consumption. Was hoping to get a hold of him and give him the numbers and let him release, or get permision to do the same. I reckon I'll give him a little more time to reply(Really don't want to release anything without his consent). Edit: Also it would be nice to bundle it up into and addon instead of scripts but I have no Idea yet how to do that.

    Not working for me either, though it should be working without having to add them, Cause its base class is the AV8b. the F16 works fine for me that way. On another note I made some adjustments to Lethals AircraftEffects script and got it working nice with the F-22 and the F-16. Only thing is he seems to have dissapeared over a yr. ago and Ive been unable to reach him. It works thru a gamelogic in the mission and I remember somebody else in the originall thread had it working for MP also. heres a cpl pics.

    never had an issue like that but from what ive read Wordpad is a very bad program to use to edit these type of files. It can cause errors in the layout of the script.

    the vote time is in the InitMission.sqf. open with notepad, click edit find votetime.

    look closely at the pics, I don't think they are black. You can see green on them in spots where the lights hitting.

    Once again great plane. Just noticed something, after 10min of flying with no other addons my rpt file is loaded, (and I mean LOADED) with errors trying to generate st for various points. also it says its missing the driver get in direction point. would've mentioned this before but the noob I am just finally found the rpt file..lol
  10. Is there someplace I can find the translated key binding codes. have never really had a need for much binding in arma outside of the ingame UI. and have no idea what numbers are what keys.

    Excellent mod. As for the m24 yes it does fire 7.62 nato however Ive never heard of a sniper ever using a tracer rnd.

    the 5.56mm is the nato standard small caliber rifle round. the 7.62 is the nato standard large caliber rifle round. just to point out that the 5.56 is not the only nato approved rifle round. edit: also for clarity the 7.62 was nato standard long before the 5.56

    apache's really starting to look good, One thing, please get rid of the preflight check it has a tendency to break missions. when the pilot tries to start the engines it doesn't have fuel and the then they just exit the chopper. That is if your using the same ones that mapfact released.

    man that is an awsome program!!!! took me about an hour to set up now no more looking for keys during a firefight. thank you so much edit: there are still a few things you can't do with this but with the proper setup its a huge help. and since I got two extra buttons on my mouse I use the thumb button to activate it. also I might add you have to download SAPI 5.1 from microsoft and train it for your voice but its all free and works very well. The info on this should be stickied somewhere.

    you also have to add it to the configHeavyFactory. at the bottom is a list of Resistance vehicles.] about the error, you have to manually add the addon name to the mission.sqm in notepad or open the mission in the editor and place a single empty tank somewhere and resave the mission. The addon will still work in game without this but will keep showing the error.

    Both of you are right actually, the experimental data link which uses the has been in the f-22 since 2006 but only in April did they finally demonstrate its capabilities. heres a link to one of the released articles. http://www.spacedaily.com/reports....99.html On another note, fixing the flight model really wasnt that hard. I fidled with the config a bit and no problems flying or landing. for landing all I added was landingspeed = 250; and the autopilot does a fine job now. also took gnat advise and put the speed to 1200, added noseDownCoef = 0,and a wheelSteeringSensitivity = 3.0(same as franzes hornets). seems to handle great. Although, I really have no Idea what I'm doing..lol. but ive been working on a cpl models myself so ive been experimenting with different configs to get a feeling for them.

    I noticed some pages ago was disscusion on warning systems, just like to add that the US has had for a while now a warning system on there aircraft to detect and defeat IR air to air and ground to air missiles. Suite of Infrared Countermeasures [sIIRCM] AN/ALQ-212 Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures (ATIRCM) AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) this system does in fact track IR shoulder fired missiles as well. and is used in U.S. helicopters and some commercial airliners. the danish and others are upgrading there f-16 and choppers to use MILDS F (Missile Launch Detection System, Fighter) MILDS F is a missile warning system which detects and tracks the UV emissions of approaching missiles including the most prevalent threat of heat-seeking shoulder-launched missiles. I never could understand why the aircraft in Arma didnt have any type of warning system.

    Problem salvage money for salvaging addon vehicel

    thats something Ive been having an issue with also, some of my added vehicles don't give funds for neutralizing either. Ive spent I don't know how many hours trying to figure that one out with no luck. from what I can tell the funds are calculated from a percentage of the cost to buy them, but thats as far as Ive got.

    I'm sure you can but I haven't looked in to that yet. I believe that would entail actually adding script to the loadout.sqs and the client\init\init_client.sqs this is what it calls in the init_client.sqs: ;Determine Client's ID (1 - 16). This is the slot # they joined the game as.     the way I did it was to take out the DN and put in a short name then defined the name in the stringtable.csv file. [Localize "STR_Brdly"] and in the csv STR_Brdly, M2A2 Bradley

    Idea for improved team play.

    squad leaders dont really have that kind of power. they would have to radio the info to the commander and then he would be the one making the decision. Good Idea however for side missions.

    Look in the common/config/configloadouts at the bottom of each sides weapons you will see the default weapon types. it'll look something like this for west. westDefaultWeapons = [westPrimaryWeapons Select AMP_M4A1SD_CQBE_DTYPE] westDefaultAmmo = [westPrimaryAmmo Select M4A1SDTYPE,westPrimaryAmmo Select M4A1SDTYPE,westPrimaryAmmo Select M4A1SDTYPE,westPrimaryAmmo Select M4A1SDTYPE,westPrimaryAmmo Select M4A1SDTYPE,westPrimaryAmmo Select M4A1SDTYPE,westMiscWeapons Select HANDGRENADETYPE,westMiscWeapons Select HANDGRENADETYPE,westMiscWeapons Select HANDGRENADETYPE,westMiscWeapons Select HANDGRENADETYPE] I changed mine to AMP_M4A1SD_CQBE_DTYPE, note: you can change it to any primary weapon type you have in the given sides loadout list, if you want it to be an addon weapon you also need to add it to the loadouts.
