ArmA 3: new ARG - Things we know so far.

Still, this is pretty cool -- keeps us on the hunt, for the same in-game locations at least. A RL Tom Larkin having a RL ticket to Tessaloniki, then taking a boat trip to RL Stratis is truly Alternate Reality. ---------- Post added at 00:35 ---------- Previous post was at 00:32 ---------- Capt. Miller would only be 21. I'd say this is 2030s, since A3A is coming next week and reality doesn't matter anymore - to hell with 2013, see you in 2030.

If i buy Alpha ARMA 3 on the website...

That key that you would need for Steam is going to contain all the Games, bonuses & Steam gifts. I'd imagine your Steam account being gradually upgraded, as the time comes for Beta, Full game, etc.

LOL, Tom Larkin, departure from Athens to Tessaloniki on March 1st. Economy class. :p Better not be a forged ticket.

What is the fastest way of purchasing the game?

You'd be taking up 0.000192% of Steam's peak capacity at your rate. :p

What is the fastest way of purchasing the game?

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/content/ Assuming the server closest to you is not at cap when you download, I'd expect your ISP maximum.

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

It's certain that those would be optional.

BIStore with your card. Get your game key in an E-mail sent from BIStore account -> Activate the key thru Steam -> Start downloading.

Everyone should replicate the following test immediately,

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

Correct. Whether Nvidia leans on the devs to implement Extra PhysX Smoke and tacticool particle effects is unknown. :)

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

Should be fine.* http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-540M.41715.0.html I have an Asus S46C with i5-3317U & Nvidia GT 635M, which isn't that far ahead of your GT 540M and I can run ArmA II* at high settings with 3 km VD on Takistan. *Assuming ArmA III runs roughly the same as ArmA II does.

ArmA 3: new ARG - Things we know so far.

Tried it with with "melteme" as username, didn't work. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere to anyone outside Greece, way far up into the Aegean. I'm about 900 km away from it in a straight line. :cc: It's supposed to be an in-game clue, seeing as Alpha is out next Tuesday. :cc: If not, I'll be dissapoint. :(

    ARMA 3 donation

Or purchase the keys on BIStore then send them back to BIS without registering 'em on Steam. LOL ---------- Post added at 14:33 ---------- Previous post was at 14:32 ---------- Not if it removes demand from the system.

    ArmA 3 System Requirements

It'll max out ArmA 2 and will probably run ArmA III on Very High w/out AA. This is a cookie cutter rig with i5-3570K, which is overclockable, so you needn't worry.

    Arma3 Alpha Testing Checklist

Very extensive checklist, MadDog. I'll personally go over each point and note down any issues/mechanics, certain points may contain subjective opinions. :p ALT+Tab FTW.

Arma 3: Confirmed features | info & discussion

Cherno is 15 km (or 10 miles)... per side, which, as PurePassion said, is 225 square km. Altis is probably going to be 17x17 km, or 20x20 with the surrounding (not the bays) sea included.

    Arma 3 plans for 2013

I wish. :( I didn't disclose during the ARG that I could probably take a boat ride to RL Stratis to check for any... intel left behind by our... visiting friends, since I'm kinda in the area. :cc:

    Arma 3 plans for 2013

I'm stuck here, staring at the ceiling. A ship wreck near the shore can be seen through the window, perhaps I should go exploring for any hidden artifacts. Heh-heh.

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

A citation would be nice. Don't worry about me, worry about your own sanity, as you reach Stage 4 of the Kübler-Ross model and eventually find yourself playing ArmA III on Steam. It means they either need to change their website layout, prices & advertising strategies, but if they're happy with their current traffic - that's their business. I just know, which business BIS preferred to every other alternative. Guess we're stuck with Steam. Swimming against the tides of the Universe is hard, keep strong.

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

I'm a zealot of ArmA, nothing else. Without Steam, public MP is dead in this game due to poor multiplayer facilities like serverlists, filters, favourites, friendlists. Not to mention that a larger audience will have a healthier effect on server populations. See DayZ. ---------- Post added at 10:18 ---------- Previous post was at 10:15 ---------- I've explained this bit to them, but I get a very sneaking impression, that some just recently came out of the woodworks of OFP, which is a good thing, but they came out of offline SP into a world of interconnectedness.

PM me after the 6th for your Alpha Lite (due out March 14th) invite. For filling of the blanks. :cc:

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

We better call the Internet police then. Company making profits with honest products & services, while having an outstanding reputation. For 7 years now, and 7 years before then with Half-Life, Counter-Strike & Team Fortress. Good to them, I heard of this website. Once or twice during this past decade. Wait, why would you even do that on ANY forum? What? _______________________________________________ Jeeze, people may be against digital distribution/Steam, but outright thought-out-can't-make-this-up bullshit isn't helping their point. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kübler-Ross_model We're at number 3, by the way.

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

I'd say the former would follow whatever "kills Steam". Steam is printing money - if they lose integrity, the printer stops. They wouldn't want that.

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

It's business: cost cutting, if the competition goes ahead with the move, you'll feel the pressure sooner or later on your margins. Yes, this may be a race to the bottom in certain aspects, but c'est la vie. I take it people want BIS to release ArmA III to 450 people at a loss to themselves. Not. Going. To. Happen. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/the-war-z Oh dear - Caveat emptor. LOL
  24. Iroquois Pliskin

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

Well if A2 didn't have a Japanese version, it's likely ArmA III won't have one either. :/

    ArmA 3 on Steamworks?

Haven't been following that clownfest -- in whose favour is the censoring being done? :D Heh-heh. http://lorehound.com/news/the-warz-pulled-from-steam-valve-hammerpoint-apologize I'd say this is a + to Steam/Valve, since they enforce the basic rules in advertising against fraudulent/scamArtisto titles such as WarZ.
