Like I said, the purchase of Alpha is already a statement of hope that any and all bugs will be squashed by release, otherwise said customer wouldn't touch anything with the term "ALPHA" in it in the first place.
-
Demo, which is the ArmA III Alpha LITE, got downsized (along with INVITE-only access) this time around as not to give a false impression to a potential customer base about the final product's quality, since the whole project is still in Alpha stage. By "Pre-ordering" the Beta & Full game through the early Alpha access, people are reminded that any bugs/annoyances they find by playing the Alpha, will be dealt with by release.
-
QFT. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
-
So what? You're against free demos? Oh-oh, so you want the near-release game experience, albeit on a "small" 20 km^2 island of Stratis, for free? Doesn't happen. You're not buying the Alpha, you're Pre-ordering ArmA III with early access starting March 5. End of story, and this is the wrong topic for A3A discussion.

Who's going to make the first domination gamemode?

Multi-Session Operations could replace that on a certain level. Besides, less Domi? More Warfare! :) -
Arma 3: Confirmed features | info & discussion
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Maio's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
It's the same deal in ArmA II with the base HMVVW and almost ten variations that are present - all separates models, tho: MK19, .50 cal MG, TOW and their CROWS system adaptations. -
The free Alpha without MP doesn't exist to me, those 3 Lite invites in my Steam gift inventory will be POOF - gone to people who are interested, yet undecided and we'll be enjoying the real meat instead.

Will Bohemia finally improve ARMA's PVP to attract New Players?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to LockDOwn's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
You ninjad in the reply, I posted part 2 see above. :) Another one, Transition from underwater to land @ 3:14. All infantry anims are of relevance for the overall performance in my view. Same obstacle course as above, run by a dev @ 11:08 Claymores/antipersonnel mines demo @ 13:20. You can see some poor sucka flying on a mine in the very beginning. Tripwire mine/charge @ 13:50 (I loved those in ACE2) Claymore vs. 3 targets @ 14:30. Bouncing Betty wasn't shown in this vid, there's another one w/ the same demo. Someone doing a timed pistol run on the course Chortles posted, Pretty good anims/mechanics. It was probably the player's first time here. -

Give me a sec, I'll pull similar examples from GC... Here, One of the more famous presentations, Scuba infantry starting @ 2:48. The next one is excellent, Infantry training/obstacle course @ 1:10 Lean from cover anims in 3rd person view @ 1:37 CQB in 3rd PV @ 2:13 in a very narrow hallway and room Course runs till about 4:37, then second after you see side arm to primary transition animation & back in 3rd PV. Long-range sniping @ 6:43 - Love the bullet hit effects, passes thru that sucka like a hot knife. Very believable ballistics in this demo. Infantry inventory system (G key/gear) that had been used in he GC build can be seen from 11:45 onward. -
Three months? They'll be enjoying it till release. :icon_twisted: Or till they see our Alpha gradually, smoothly being upgraded to beta via Steamworks & die of envy.

Yeah, kinda old news -- I used to spam the forums with GamesCom infantry vids. :cc: At least the infantry movement is up to FPS standards, and we have the classic weapon floating point w/ freelook. -
Interior of the rambo APC matches the exterior. :)

How to improve the Close Quarter Combat experience in Arma 3?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to Intezar's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Courtesy of Smookie's anims. :) -
"...standalone expansions or sequels." This topic is fruitless.

Here's the Steam Community page for ArmA II: Op Arrowhead - http://steamcommunity.com//app/33930 - very vibrant feel. Categories include: Discussions, screenshots, videos, news, announcements, Guides. There's a good chance ArmA III will have 1 more - "Workshop" for mods & missions, something like this -> http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=72850 The blue Store Page button takes you to the game's full description with official screenshots, teasers & trailers, along with its Metacritic score/reviews. I like the screenshots w/ comments section the most. ;) P.S. That's for people who are new to Steam, I'm trying to remember where everything is/was myself.

http://www.arma3.com/buy It states quite clearly, so there's no further need for speculation: "ALL FUTURE ARMA 3 DLCs -- *If any, does not apply to standalone expansions or sequels." You're not buying any future DLC promise, it's merely an indefinite pass, if any are released during the game's lifecycle. Of course, if another Operation Arrowhead comes along, and if all subsequent DLCs are going to require you have it installed, that would probably not qualify you.
-
Eh, I think future DLCs are a function of the direct interest people are going to take in ArmA III, including the Alpha.

ArmA 3: new ARG - Things we know so far.

The one that you've provided on your BIStore account. AFAIK

What is the fastest way of purchasing the game?
Iroquois Pliskin replied to SteelBlade's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Could be confirmed later - over the weekend or on Monday maybe? -
Could be some form of limited edition, 10-15 page tacticool booklet of the latest additions and improvements in ArmA III, like the stance system, weapon & gear modification, etc. Advanced tactics ala Shacktac, even if viewed through the eyes of a lone trainee soldier (not squad-based), would be a pleasant surprise. I think it's just a regular manual.

Can't have Pre-load without purchasing, tho, can you? Orders go live on the same day - March 5th, as is the client data AFAIK. No window for Pre-load. -
Arma3 Alpha Testing Checklist

I view the list in the OP as a personal diary/observations. You don't have to come back here and copy-paste everything that you've documented. Rather, keep the data and provide feedback in various other threads & on the Tracker as the need arises.
