No success on the limited mouse area with these drivers. On an Island with more buildings the FPS were pretty low this time. Ill wait and hope. Im no longer using Mac OSX and have quit my research. -

I didnt change anything at all. Only used a Nocd-Patch since the CD wasnt recognized. Later I copied my fully patched OA from the Windows HDD. I think dualbooting is yet the way to go. Even with the eliminated mouse area some bushes are popping up and some textures become dark from time to time. I didn't test it long enough due to the low mouse movement area. Ill research on that smoothmouse driver beta and how to insert it into crossover. Removing the limited mouse area is the first step to go. The object and texture problems should be easier to resolve. The FPS were very high and satisfying. btw: Im using a free Crossover(12) 14 Days trial for my test with OSX 10.8.2 and my machine is a hackintosh based on an Intel I5 and AMD HD5870. http://s14.postimage.org/hraumk7bl/Foto.jpg (241 kB) <- You can see some bushes missing here, too. But the overall quality and FPS are as good as in windows or better. ---------- Post added at 17:25 ---------- Previous post was at 17:23 ---------- Sad. I had the same texture problems and with Antialiasing=Medium or higher they were completely gone. But you shouldn't forget that we use different systems. You could give the newest OA a try where you have more graphic settings. -

Turn on Anti-Aliasing and these texture problems should be gone. Iam using Mac OSX 10.8.2 with Crossover 12 and this uses Wine 1.5.15. With the newest Arrowhead copied from my Win7 disk and the game starts. With turned on AA I can see textures and move in the world. The loading times are really fast and the performance is very very good. Something killing the ability of normal playing is a limited mouse area. I can only turn myself for 270° sometimes 180° and then the turning stops. I guess its when the mouse courser in the background reaches the edge of my screen in the background. But its a lot better than the old raw input problem. Playing around with the graphic options worked great. The only remaining problem that doesn't go away are popping LODs like bushes. I could imagine to start playing with OSX if there wasnt the problem that stops my mouse at some point and forces me to turn quickly around the other direction. Greets -

The mouse moves on every 2nd move in a wrong direction. Most times its moving fast to the left or top left (when you try to turn right for example). Its unplayable that way as you may imagine. I have a Win7 hdd to play arma, but hate it to switch the OS. It was just a try for me if it is possible. I read about this wrong moving mouse before, but cant remember where right now. -

I did exactly this. (Running Lion 10.7.4) My mouse works finally in the menu but moves into wrong directions ingame every second move. Hard to play this way :( Dont you have this problem? -
Hi, yesterday I tried to play ArmA2 with ACE2. Before starting the game I updated to ACE version 517. Afterwards I couldnt connect to any server, mostly there were addons missing, my version was newer than the servers one or both. Because I'm a very casual gamer I'm not signed in into any community with a passworded server. I prefer hand made coop missions and no domination style missions, but I wasnt even able to play on any running ACE2 server (Friday evening). In the past I always found a server on a friday-saturday evening, even if there were only a few... Do you guys have any hints for me? Do you know a nice up2date coop server where casual gamers are welcome? Thank you *edited

I dont want it to disappear in that big thread and I think its part of multiplayer isnt it? Yeah or I wont update until I found a server with a newer version. I'm trying to Not worth the work for a casual gamer. When my 50Mbits are up I may host on my rig but a yet running dedicated server is way more comfortable. Thanks for your reply sickboy! :cool:

My system is: - AMD Phenom II X4 955 4x3.20GHz - Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P 790X - G1024P Club3D ATI Radeon HD4890 1024MB video card - 4096MB Corsair PC3-10666 CL9 Kit (DDR3 1333+) - 680W SuperFlower Atlas Design Modular - (temps never higher than 55°Celsius) - (on Windows Vista 64). CPU/GPU not overclocked, fresh BIOS (may 2009)update. Sometimes there are errors during the campaign, the game often crashes when they appear. One quick question: Has the ACE team ever thought about introducing the grass of this addon? (SFOD-D High Performance Addon). But Im just talking about the grass in this addon, I love it :) -
Hi folks! I was running Vista 64 bit and "upgraded" it to Win7 what gave me some problems with user datas. Yesterday I formated my HDD and installed a fresh and new clean Win7 64 bit Pro. I also changed my HDD mode from Native IDE to AHCI (read warning below!!!) and activated the SATA II controller (BIOS changes). I didn't do any benchmarks before and I cant tell you how much more performance I got - but the game seems to run better. Has anyone else made same or similar experiences? *** Care when you switch to AHCI in your BIOS Windows may show a bluescreen when booting. You got to change your registry for that. I found nice manuals with google. If you switch from Native IDE to AHCI your windows may need a new activation!!! My experiences maybe different with other hardware or an older BIOS! Do not expect magical wonders! After some testing I got to say that there is no real boost. Playing large maps on multiplayer still lets the FPS drop more than with large groups of AI on SP (where my CPU hosts the AI). -

One question: Im creating a coop. If enemy groupleaders die (not alive e1) they activate triggers. But they often only get knocked out by bullets and still life because I use the ace-wounding module. Is there any chance to use ace-wounding only for human players and not for any AI? thanks for any hint or suggestion :) -

- The chopper is heli1 - The boat is muni1 - Parachute is s1 In my mission you activate a trigger synched to another (look above). After activating it a chopper comes and drops of a boat that is attached to a parachute. My problem: The parachute spawns, the boat and parachute are connected but the chopper blows up. They spawn to close to him. That crash even kills the boat... How may I let it drop maybe 5meters under or behind the chopper? --- Edit: changing muni1 attachTo [s1,[0,0,0] only changes the position where the boat hangs on that parachute. Its the wrong place to start with it! Anyone any idea? Im very happy with any kind of help or suggestion!!!! =) :dancehead: -

That was exactly what I needed! Hell I really need it. Let the chopper fly in 10 meter height makes him crash into trees. A workaround with waypoints is not possible because Im working on the end of the map :) Nice idea. I will use it in my next mission! Thanks a lot! =) Yeah the trigger works. But I set the choppers groupleader as the trigger person. This way works in any case as I read in a german tutorial. For you nice help ill add two screenshots: ---------- Example mission for this topic: DOWNLOAD Scroll Down, Press Free. Enter the Code shown as Image. ---------- When my ACE2 coop is complete ill try to host it on armaholic.com (Its an atmospheric 12 player survival coop). ---------------------------------------- Edit: Is there any way to make a normal soldier to a medic? The is no speznaz or MVD medic avaible! Answer is here. Changing the used units! -
That center building is "Schloss Celle" isnt it? I rember it standing on a hill. Its flat ingame. Great anyway =)
