  1. **** HUGE NEW UPDATE FOR DUWS MODIFIED **** New As of April 09th, 2014: - 6 NEW Support Unlocks for HIGH COMMAND Fans!!: **DISCLAIMER** Arma3 High Command and it's AI can be very unreliable, especially in MP environments. Please keep this in mind when using the HC Unlocks and do NOT blame me! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, hehe. After Unlocking these in the Supports list, you can call them in your 0-8 menu: High Command CAS Plane(25cp to unlock + 15cp per use) High Command Attack Chopper(25cp to unlock + 15cp per use) High Command Air Transport (10cp to unlock + 3cp per use) High Command Ground Transport HEMTT (8cp to unlock + 2cp per use) High Command Repair Team (8cp to unlock + 4cp per use) High Command Refuel Team (8cp to unlock + 2cp per use) *If you aren't familiar with using High Command this is the time to learn how because it's a blast in this mission, when/if the AI does what you want! :-) **These 6 new items can only be "unlocked" at HQ, and then used anywhere/anytime on the map you wish. You cannot unlock them at FOB's. ***WARNING: HC vehicles can really hurt frames so do not spam this feature. Use sparingly when really needed (no more than 1 or 2 at one time). - JIP spawning issues fixed (keeping fingers crossed!): Should be no more swimming or spawning in wrong location when you join mission in progress. - HALO: Can no longer Halo within 1km of a red zone's center. Your clickspot on map must be a MINIMUM of 1km away from the center of any red zones. Also, height increased to 2,500. - NO MORE SUPPORT UNLOCKS AT FOB's (due to the new RE-LOCK feature mentioned below). - THERE ARE NOW SQUAD UNLOCKS AT FOB's (limited: only 3 to choose from including fireteam, AT & AA and they cost 50% more than buying them at HQ) - NEW SUPPORT UNLOCKS FEATURE: You can now RE-LOCK 17 of the 21 supports from the support list after you've unlocked/purchased them at HQ(except for armory, pFlir, halo and specialist training)! Upon re-locking an item (returning your virtual purchase) you will also get 1/2 (half) your CP (money) back (you only get half to avoid exploitation of this feature). - NEW SUPPORT UNLOCK ITEM: *for emergency use only* - the last item on the list will add the "request fob" support item back to your 0-8 menu (to be used incase you unlock too many supports and lose the fob request item out of your 0-8 menu). - CBU20 Cluster Support: slightly nerfed/less effective with smaller footprint, takes slightly less time to arrive and is cheaper to unlock (was too overpowered before). - Fast Travel/Teleport: improved it's vitualization increasing the time it takes to fast travel (instead of instantaneous). - Removed "Armory" from NATO "Supply Drops". Now that the mission has expanded it's become too overpowered for game balance. Rocket launchers and ammo will remain, and you can also still use it to rearm your AI and HC squads. - Listbox Auto-Scroll Issue fixed in the Request Units Menu (no more wacky scroll behavior when unlocking supports). - Fixed a bug remaining from orginal duws: public variable was not properly keeping track of which side owns which zones at any given time, and this broke anything that depends upon that info (i.e.still being able to create fob's in recaptured red zones, warcom spawning enemy in empty green zones. FIXED). - Some CP cost adjustments for purchasing certain individual vehicles & squads (armored, air & artillary). RE-released as of 4/11/2014 at 03:00GMT New As of April 11th, 2014: - Added a mapclick "distance" hint helper in map screen during halo's. If you don not click far enough away from a red zone's center the hint will appear telling how far away your previous click was and asks you to try clicking again further away. - Increased height of auto-open parachute by 50m during Halo's due to the higher starting altitude and faster descent speed.   2. well gentlemen...there's sort of a new unlock comming in this next update this week...it may help for those times when you forget to request a defensive HC squad before you leave the HQ...There are now 6 new HC units you can actually unlock in the support menu and when you unlock them they will appear in your 0-8 menu for use at anytime or anywhere you need them. It is highly recommended, if trying to flee an enemy attack, that you begin the teleportation from INSIDE the FOB so you will not be shot during the virtual "travel" process. - HALO: cost increased (25cp to unlock + 8cp per use) AND height increased to 2,500 so it now takes 30-40 seconds to reach the ground. - Some CP cost adjustments for purchasing certain individual vehicles & squads (armored, air & artillary).
  3. I've seen this being asked this before once or twice, but I feel that the performance drop would be detrimental to ALL the AI if I should add civilians at this point. If you keep stressing your machine with more and more AI then the fighting AI will at some point stop responding or be too slow to respond and some folks are already struggling with this to some extent. The drop in performance just wouldn't be worth the small effect that the civilian AI have on offer IMO (they're pretty silly and walk about like zombies anyway). Thank you for the kind words though...I'm happy whenever I see people getting a kick out of this :-)
  4. ...because there's no respawn in A3 SP Scenario mode. Run the mission by hosting an in-game LAN Server (for playing alone) or Internet Server (for playing with others). The instructions for starting an in-game server are on my Steam Workshop's page in the PINNED discussion section.

  7. @GrKl30 - thank you!...you can see all the update info in the readme that comes inside the zip :-) @Katsopolis - I'll look into it, as I know little about what effects that may have. Kibot is not currently working on the mission these days and is not usually available to answer questions or to brief me on why he never made the change that you proposed awhile back...so I hesitate to make the change before he speaks out about here...hopefully he can answer here and shed some light on the matter for me. If so, then I will make the changes for you at that time. *Another update is coming very soon, stay tuned!*:cool:

  9. Anybody know if there's a way to block specific mods for clients when starting a non-dedicated in-game server, such as using "verifySignatures= 2" or any other means?
  10. @JamesSaga - will do @Katsopolis - Laser pointer works fine here in mission, and Task Radio is a 3rd party addon...so sounds like both of these are mod related issues and have nothing to do with the mission itself...so I wouldn't have an answer for you there sorry. Maybe someone who uses that radio thingy can chime in to help you figure it out.

    no matter when it actually gets released, Egg's wonderful work is always worth waiting for...that much i know. I've been waiting a year to play his final version in A3, and now that im back to A3 (due to duws) it's not an easy wait I'll tell ya :-)

Revive no longer removes the addaction items so you should no longer be seeing this...lemme know details if it IS still happening with new version. Thanks.
  14. @Phant - I do not know what your issue is with MCC as I do not use it. I would have to install it and take a look...but I know there are other players who use it in DUWS ok...so maybe they have changed something in mCC with an update. Try again 2 different ways, with revive off and revive on and let me know if it still happens both ways or not. @Slider75 - try LEFT Ctrl+SPACE (which is the default keystroke for high command)....you first need to have units already in HC. If that doesnt work then you must have deleted or changed the default HC keystroke binding and will have to re-assign it. *@Phant EDIT* - well i just installed mcc and tried respawning both with revive on and revive off, as well as after a "resume" on an LAN server...I didnt seem to have any issue regarding the loss of losing the mcc menu system. I'm afraid youd have to give me an exact repro that would make me lose the mcc menu here, otherwise I have no clue what your issue may be. This was using my Modified version of DUWS. My only guess is that you are not playing the modified version of duws (which has fixed an issue where addaction menu items were all getting removed after respawn). You never specified which version of duws you used. Try my modified version and try mcc again...should be ok I'll assume.

  16. I'd like to know if they ever plan on changing the driver's eyepoint inside the Hunter...it's just terrible...way too far back for proper driving and the windows appear too small...you just cant see out of the damn thing worth a shit. It's an awful experience getting in a Hunter this way.

    AI Configuration - feedback

    So after today's patch it seems we can only set the AI skill globally now, and have lost the ability to have separate skill levels for both friendly/enemy units?...is this a joke?...and why when i set skill to 0.3 and precision to 0.1 am i still getting beaned in the head at 300m with a single shot from enemy who dont even need to visually be facing me when they shoot at me?...fer heavens sakes just dunno what to say anymore.

  22. Their public response in handling situations like this are still baffling to me. Yes they are well aware that the workshop was broke yesterday. We have been screaming in their ears about it as soon as the workshop was broken. Instead of explaining what had happened to cause the breakage and commenting on a potential hotfix, they instead offer no explanation except to post hours later saying a fix has been established in their code but will not be released until their next official game update....in the meanwhile leaving all workshop content virtually unusable since you have to unsubscribe from everything to stop the crashes. Keep in mind they make no official public announcement so people will understand what has happened as user speculation begins to run rampant as to why their game keeps crashing. Then later they suddenly reply on a steam forum thread announcing that they just released a fix...wow, great!...only we all were still crashing and the fix did not work. The next response from BIS after realizing the fix did not work was to say "just to be sure we are talking about dev branch here, right?"...apparently giving you the impression that a miscommuication was happening here. Then...about 6 hours later after people kept posting and complaining yet another BIS lackadaisical response simply said something like...oh, uhh i guess more investigating is in order then. Whaaa? Most people look at this as a sudden game-breaking change was made and are expecting the company to offer a logical explanation and a fast turn around time for the fix...but what you seem to get is alot of improper unofficial communication that is unhelpful and even borders on a phrase that some might call "word games". ...baffling
  23. Sounds like something was pushed out that shouldn't have been. Next update? Does that mean 3/20?? You realize that hosting/playing any missions in MP is not possible unless we unsubscribe and delete all workshop content.

    Speed Of Sound

    From my own experience an error like this is typically due to a change that BIS has made due to their patching, and not necessarily any mistake or changes that YOU have made yourself. I would take a look at their spotrep #00019 and see what changes they have made that relate to sounds. Often the error that gets thrown in the .rpt is not a direct hint where the trouble is, but can often be a all too vague hint that is only indirectly related to what needs to be changed in the script. They certainly never make things easy for modders in this respect. Welcome to the world of Arma :-)
