Placebo I know that BI has many issues with the marketing of the PC game from different regions to multiple publishes but they need to let us know if the console release is still in the works. We don't need the date LOL. Just a hint that it will be so. I tell ever person I meet on the 360 about OFP/ARMA/ARMA2 but most of them who never played are looking at OFP2 because of the marketing, target release date and word of mouth around the 360 community. I am not here to say one game is better then the other only time will tell the truth about the gameplay But more people are looking at OFP2 BECAUSE OF THE OVERALL MARKETING OF THE GAME FOR CONSOLES. Hey action replay is the answer it work on the xbox for elite just fine. The only down side was no MOD's but who cares MOD's can open a whole new can of worms. Placebo it's been a few months since I ask this question. Can you see if BI will give any new information about the Xbox 360 version or PS3. My self and a few xbox players are trying to spread the word about ARMA2 to the box community (COD4 and 5, BFBC, FARCAY2 and GTA4 players but I need some current information about console versions. The only information right now from BI is TBA and codemasters is giving more information about the console and making console forum as well. I know in my heart that ARMA2 will be more like the original gameplay with new improvemnets but it looks like codemasters is pulling in more of the console market then BI The core players of OFP elite are still here but some are starting to jump ship due to no information form BI and codemasters marketing to the console community. I am a true fan of BI because (they made the game not codemasters) but they are starting to lose the battle of the console market in the minds of players because of some new rumors on various sites and lack of information from BI that the console versions is CANCELED. I know the unofficial modes like COOP campaign, COOP single mission, deathmatch, team deathmatch, CTF and CTI. I was hoping for a player vs player objective mission mode were both sides have specific targets or objectives to complete to win the match. The focus should be not on killing the opposite players but completing the orders/objectives of the map. If you kill all the opposite players that is just a bonus for you LOL. Both teams would have to determine how many human players will go as a strike force to take down the targets or objectives and how many will go on defence to project the targets or objectives. The option for turning on or off respawns should be up to the host or map maker. I prefer no respawns in this mode. CTI MODE When your forces capture a loction (city/village/port whatever) and when your human units redeploy to a new location they should be reinforced by AI Troops to hold the location and fight the enemy until you can get back to help them. If they get killed then enemy reinforcements take over. I hate games that when you take over a location and leave the enemy forces just has to walk to the location and hit a button to capture it back. Yes a lot of respawns in this mode required including vehicles or you need to buy them from your base. I am still a little confused with that concept. When I played OFP for the PC back in the day 2001-to early 2003 there was not that many templates going around from the community and a lot of cheating on player design maps/missions. I took a long break from video games for real life stuff ie got a married, went back to paramedic school and firefighter academy. When my life got back to somewhat normal and I strated to play video games again with the xbox in 2005. Stop I know what you are going to say to me. How can you play on the xbox when you played on the pc before. We can have a whole debate about that topic but this is not the time nor place for that so let it go for now lol. I had a good group of friends on the xbox 15-20 not like the majority of players from the xbox community. We were a solid group of players. The game play and game experiences were the same as the PC however we were limited to the number of game modes and templates. Yes we had PC mission from action replay but not all the different templates you are talking about. Yes I played arma1 a few times before the newest update but my pc can not handle it. So thank you for the 911 on the different templates. If you could make a list of the ones going around right now on arma1 and some basic information that would be great. PS. I am going to get a new PC and the game when ARMA2 is released but I will still prefer the X360 for personal reasons. So lets agree to disagree about that lol. mr.g-c first the possible game modes are not virtually unlimited due to the editor. The mission are. You need to mod templates for that. You can only have a game mode that BIS( capital letters sorry! gives us out of the box. That was one of my points. Yes ARMA 1 had some issues when it was first released and now it's running good. Yes it has some deficits but this is not about ARM 1 jackass it's about ARM 2 and BI developing a ture follow up game to OFP. So many of you idiots crack me up. If you want the game to be truly realistic THEN GO OUTSIDE BECAUSE IT'S A GAME. We don't have SUPER PC's in our homes and it still needs to be balanced to play and YES FUN. ( it's a game boys). Hello BI community my name is AVIBIRD 1 and I am a vet of OFP#1 for both PC and the XBOX game. For the past few years I played only the XBOX OFP#1 and yes I played ARMA#1 with all the upgrades and now it is a great game. This post is not about PC vs XBOX play please understand this. I float back and forth between the BI community and codemasters forums to learn about both games. I personal feel at this time BI will have the game play closer to the original OFP but codemasters might have some new ideas that will bring the game play to a new level only time will tell. The question I have for the community? I feel codemasters has (not all players) a lot of people that never played the original OFP or ARMA and most of the people on codemasters forums feel that player vs player maps are better then COOP PLAY for team work.( this game is not COD/BF game play which is fast in your face play) They feel the game needs clans support and scoring systems to make the game good. A few works ago I ask my friend to check out ARMA and he told me that most of the games up were clan COOP PLAY. (I hate clans and a scoring system for this game. That is a different debate). If a clan is a group of guys playing COOP mission then I am ok however most clans for COD/BF type games just talk crap and care about scores not game experience. This is just my opinion. I would like to know how many people like COOP play over player vs player missions for ARMA#2 game play. Sorry I do not know how to make a poll on this site. So lets start our own. I Prefer COOP PLAY over player vs player in this type of game play because of the team work,communication and planning that is required in a good balance mission with limited resources,multiple objectives and well placed smart enemy waypoints (you know what I am saying hard ass maps that you only have one opportunity to complete the objective or you are dead and out numbered). What is BI problem ? Lack of PR, Advertisement and Word of mouth. What do I mean. Well we all know the PC community is now divided between BI and codemasters. This issues is stupid in my opinion but it's a fact of life. Both BI and codemasters stated they wanted to enter into the console markets because this is the gaming future. Please players of the PC don't start a fight about this statement. It's a hard cold fact that the next consoles will start to out perform the average persons home PC and more people play console games today then PC. I Currently play XBOX 360 games and every time I meet new people online I tell them about OFP,ARMA,ARMA2,OFP2,BI and codemasters. Almost every person that I tell never heard about the games and have no clue about the game play. ARMA2 is not due out around the 2nd quarter of 2009 6 months from now. WHY is BI not giving information to the major console media, why are they not giving interviews with console outlets. Codemasters has done a little better job with this. Will history repeat itself like with the poor Advertisement of OFP ELITE for XBOX. I hope not. There are a lot of console players who are so over the game play of COD/BF and they wanted a real military game like ARMA2 but they don't know about BI and ARMA. BI what are you waiting for. Some of you guys are killing me. Just state if you like coop play or player play better and a short reason why and add up the score on the bottom of your post. COOP PLAY ? vs PLAAYER PLAY ? PS. I am currently playing the new farcry2 and the new player vs player mode is great. The best mode I have ever played. It makes the whole team play as a team and you must stay with the squad. In this mode each team has a VIP. The VIP is the only person that can capture areas. (three spots on the map) When one team gets all three spots then they have to kill the other teams VIP to win the map. The other team can still retake one of the spots which then ends the ability to win the map by killing the VIP. Most of the games end in a draw becasuse it is very hard and takes a lot of team work to complete. If ARMA2 had some type of mode like this, well it would be hard but I think I would still like COOP PLAY better for all the different maps/objectives modes that can be made. ps. I know how to setup the AI in coop play to make the maps very hard and balanced for humans to play against AI. AVIBIRD 1 When playing this game keep Chuck Norris home!

Xnodunitx Thanks for the replay. I know no real information out at this time for the xbox 360. I was hoping for one of the big boys that run this forum had some insight or one of the BI team members might drop a liitle hint. During an interview with IVAN BUCHTA I think he stated that the 360 game was not yet developed. I hope this is not ture. The main reason OFP ELITE had a poor outcome was it was delayed and when it was released the 360 hit the market. I feel BI needs to get the game going before or at the same time as OFP#2. I know ARMA#2 will play more like OFP in gameplay however time is everything in life. OFP ELITE is still the best war game for the XBOX and XBOX 360 but most people don't know about the game. I am a handful of players that still play OFP on the XBOX we are always looking for more players let me know. PS. One more concern will BI have the ability to take the community mod's and make them part of download content from them. I know this brings up a lot of legal and safety question.
