Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Yeah sure... we are all just a little slow in our brains. Its not like you can set your viewdistance to LOW in Wastelands and still get 25FPS while having 30% GPU and 50% CPU load (maximum on the Core #0)...

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

The problem is not the alpha. The point is that the multicore problem now exists for 12 years. And anyone who would bother playing ArmA 3 will have a quad core or even 6 or 8 cores. So to say "the alpha not polished enough" is a bit of a lie.

Wrong. Your CPU will not get above 50% on a wastelands server. Does anybody in this thread even bother to read the thread or other threads? http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?149040-Why-is-performance-(especially-on-multiplayer-and-AMD-cpu-s)-not-a-known-issue You even posted below my screenshots in this thread and didn't even bother reading the infos... jebzuz...

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

It has nothing to do with the AI. Wastelands has 0 AIs on it but still manages to give me 22 FPS on foot an 15 FPS in a car

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

XR had Benny. Most people have no idea how much he optimized the sharing of info well beyond the limits of what BIS ever intended to be done. He had to invest that much into the game because the framework BIS gave him was utter rubbish. And in the end it made him quit the mapmaking. Just like it did with most good mappers.
  7. Wrong. The MP issue is completely new. If you ever monitored your A2 server with Warfare (benny's for example) and you saw its FPS drop to 3 (well only in earlier versions due to his excellent skills!) the players still had lots of FPS. Try driving a car in A3 with a few players on a server. You get 15 FPS.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

Its a public alpha for people to try out things. And the MP performance issue is not on the issue page yet. Instead they say that the performance feedback is positive. While it isn't. SP performance is good except if you try to use PP on the AA and see some foliage. ATOC has the same problem atm. But MP performance is horrible. And ArmA isn't famous for its great SP experience but the MP!
  9. Any mission with about 20 players will have that issue. But why should the server being stressed influence the FPS the client has? If the server was laggy and running at 2 FPS you could easily have 60FPS on your client in ArmA 2.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

I know it is related to MP. But how does that make anything better? Actually that it is this way in MP but not SP is the WHOLE POINT. We have a problem that the server obviously influences the maximum FPS of the client! It would be okay if the mission was badly made and my CPU would stay at 100% load while I only get 22FPS. That is how it was in ArmA 2. But in ArmA 3 I have 50% CPU load and 17FPS. You cannot tell me that this okay by any means. And noone is crying. This is an alpha test. And it works badly. So we should "cry" about it so it gets fixed for the final product. Jeez. Get off your BIS fanboy horse. (2009 account creation... lol ;) )
  11. These pictures were taken at Wastelands 1.05 and highlight the problem: In none of the situations encountered my GPU or CPU was nearly 100% but the FPS were always in an unplayable area! Especially look at the car pic (3rd). All CPU cores are below 50% load, my GPU is at 32% and yet I have <20fps. Something is wrong here. Note that I do not have a AMD cpu but an i7.

Low CPU utilization & Low FPS

True for me too. I optimized my settings so that I can play with 40+ frames at any time (strafing behind trees etc pp). Yet as soon as I connect to a MP Server (for this instance it was Wastelands 1.05) my frames are stuck at 20fps at any time! The monitoring of CPU and GPU utilization shows that my GPU is around 40% and my Core 0 is at 50-70%. Yet my frames are REALLY low. Does anyone know a fix for this?
  14. Why is there no - Realistic Armor system for vehicles - Realistic Weapon Guidance (Missiles and such) On the list?
  15. Alienfreak

    arma 3 warfare

Whats RTT? And it doesn't have to be that realistic. I have played both DCS titles and it is really hard to get anything done. We just need a more realistic type of "electronic warfare" that makes playing on a large scale more fun and cuts the fun destroying elements of aircrafts when you are in a tank and just can't hide and on the contrary SAMs being godlike (often)

    Weapon Lock

Your brain has a really powerful Weapon Lock build in. Yoru eye detects somebody erratically moving into your line of fire and you stop pulling the trigger. If you don't see him because you are looking through optics its really bad for him if he moves through when you decide to engage the enemy. Things like that happen. Nothing to break a sweat about. This is a military sim in which positioning and movement is about 60% of your survival chance...

    arma 3 warfare

Because a Hellfire can't miss? I see. The important thing for warfare working out better in ArmA 3 are things like no freaking IR Radar, proper vehicle signatures, having a solid armor simulation and not having an vehicle combat system superior to the one of Iron Fist. (TAB SPACE TAB SPACE TAB SPACE TAB SPACE). So if they scrap that radar, put in a WW2O like armor system, a Mandos Missile like aiming for missiles and bombs plus an at least rudimentary simulation of radars (for the vehicles which have one that is) we have a winner.

    Detailed component-driven damage modeling.

I don't think so. Giving covering fire from a SAW or so while landing with a Little Bird would prove invaluable. And why would such a useful thing ever get old? Did it get old to shoot tanks with AT weapons? Things like fastroping would get old because they are so awful slow and who wants to wait 2 minutes in the chopper until he can get out while it is under fire?

    Detailed component-driven damage modeling.

This and some actual missile guidance system would make ArmA like .... 5000000% more awesome in multiplayer maps like Warfare! Look at Mandos how freaking awesome it is flying an AH-64 or an F-35... +9000 internets to BIS if they do it!

They do? O_o Somehow I missed him in that list. Now it happened. I love you :*(

    Project Reality Development

You should really get Mando on board :) I mean... I just downloaded his new MM today (I hadn't played for a while) and just used his demo missions to check out all the equipment: I was like WTF! The Monocles just ROCK, the HUDs look cool, even the portable weapons are really cool PLUS BALANCED now. Its no tab space anymore. Its much more. Plus it looks really cool. Sometimes you even doubt you are still playing ArmA 2 ;)

    I7 + Nvidia GTX 2xx = crash

My GFX Card doesn't get over 85 Degrees in ArmA 2. Thats my whole point. From the start.
  23. Alienfreak

    I7 + Nvidia GTX 2xx = crash

Really? Its a stock GTX 295. My case has 2 120mm rear exit vents, 1 120mm front intake vent and a 80mm exit vent right next to the GTX 295. My CPU never reaches above 65 Degrees. So you say I should write to the Zotac support? Debatable. You told people how smooth and cool it runs with your system like 5 times. And that it is caused by OCing if people crash. You gave 1 tool to someone which showed unusual things, which you dropped after and told about your cpucount. And you told someone to look into the game without OCing. I'm not saying that you did NOTHING. But I read a lot in Forums and quite some guys around there also have Temps on their GTX 295 like me. And I won't open it to apply new thermal grease. I don't have that much money to waste my warranty like that ;) Plus OCing of my system has NOTHING to do with my GFX temp. Because its running on default clock, default voltage, default PCIE voltage and everything.

    I7 + Nvidia GTX 2xx = crash

Nothing I can do about it... Or will you sponsor me a new watercooling system? And instead of just sitting there and insisting everyone in this world has a problem please at least TRY to tell them what to do.

    I7 + Nvidia GTX 2xx = crash

You know... Crysis gets it over 100 Degrees about 90% of the time. No probs with it. My GTX295 almost has 65 Degrees in idle... even with a vent in front of it. But it doesnt get above 85 in ArmA 2 anyway. So what does it matter? Why am I lucky?
