Yeah sure... we are all just a little slow in our brains. Its not like you can set your viewdistance to LOW in Wastelands and still get 25FPS while having 30% GPU and 50% CPU load (maximum on the Core #0)...
-
The problem is not the alpha. The point is that the multicore problem now exists for 12 years. And anyone who would bother playing ArmA 3 will have a quad core or even 6 or 8 cores. So to say "the alpha not polished enough" is a bit of a lie.

Won't help you a thing. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?149040-Why-is-performance-(especially-on-multiplayer-and-AMD-cpu-s)-not-a-known-issue&p=2326750&viewfull=1#post2326750

Wrong. Your CPU will not get above 50% on a wastelands server. Does anybody in this thread even bother to read the thread or other threads? http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?149040-Why-is-performance-(especially-on-multiplayer-and-AMD-cpu-s)-not-a-known-issue You even posted below my screenshots in this thread and didn't even bother reading the infos... jebzuz...

It has nothing to do with the AI. Wastelands has 0 AIs on it but still manages to give me 22 FPS on foot an 15 FPS in a car

XR had Benny. Most people have no idea how much he optimized the sharing of info well beyond the limits of what BIS ever intended to be done. He had to invest that much into the game because the framework BIS gave him was utter rubbish. And in the end it made him quit the mapmaking. Just like it did with most good mappers.

Why is performance (especially on multiplayer, and AMD cpu's) not a known issue?
Alienfreak replied to Leopardi's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Wrong. The MP issue is completely new. If you ever monitored your A2 server with Warfare (benny's for example) and you saw its FPS drop to 3 (well only in earlier versions due to his excellent skills!) the players still had lots of FPS. Try driving a car in A3 with a few players on a server. You get 15 FPS. -
Its a public alpha for people to try out things. And the MP performance issue is not on the issue page yet. Instead they say that the performance feedback is positive. While it isn't. SP performance is good except if you try to use PP on the AA and see some foliage. ATOC has the same problem atm. But MP performance is horrible. And ArmA isn't famous for its great SP experience but the MP!

Any mission with about 20 players will have that issue. But why should the server being stressed influence the FPS the client has? If the server was laggy and running at 2 FPS you could easily have 60FPS on your client in ArmA 2. -
I know it is related to MP. But how does that make anything better? Actually that it is this way in MP but not SP is the WHOLE POINT. We have a problem that the server obviously influences the maximum FPS of the client! It would be okay if the mission was badly made and my CPU would stay at 100% load while I only get 22FPS. That is how it was in ArmA 2. But in ArmA 3 I have 50% CPU load and 17FPS. You cannot tell me that this okay by any means. And noone is crying. This is an alpha test. And it works badly. So we should "cry" about it so it gets fixed for the final product. Jeez. Get off your BIS fanboy horse. (2009 account creation... lol ;) )

These pictures were taken at Wastelands 1.05 and highlight the problem: In none of the situations encountered my GPU or CPU was nearly 100% but the FPS were always in an unplayable area! Especially look at the car pic (3rd). All CPU cores are below 50% load, my GPU is at 32% and yet I have <20fps. Something is wrong here. Note that I do not have a AMD cpu but an i7. -

True for me too. I optimized my settings so that I can play with 40+ frames at any time (strafing behind trees etc pp). Yet as soon as I connect to a MP Server (for this instance it was Wastelands 1.05) my frames are stuck at 20fps at any time! The monitoring of CPU and GPU utilization shows that my GPU is around 40% and my Core 0 is at 50-70%. Yet my frames are REALLY low. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- NO DISCUSSION

Why is there no - Realistic Armor system for vehicles - Realistic Weapon Guidance (Missiles and such) On the list? -
Whats RTT? And it doesn't have to be that realistic. I have played both DCS titles and it is really hard to get anything done. We just need a more realistic type of "electronic warfare" that makes playing on a large scale more fun and cuts the fun destroying elements of aircrafts when you are in a tank and just can't hide and on the contrary SAMs being godlike (often)
