1. Mission design has nothing to do with Addons/Mods discussion. 2. Not all the countries' armies are features in this game. More to the point, some will never be (by bis or addon makers). 3. I see the correlation, yes, but i don't see why there are so many ppl posting besides the point "thinking out load". Does BIS hands out candies for post count? You are making a suggestion that has nothing to do with the subject, witch is an ADDON, more specific an ISLAND. Even if i were to analyze your suggestion from a mission design POV, there would be flaws in what you are suggesting: a) there are only 4 sides in the game, including the civilians. b) By no means it would be possible to create a scenario where all the armies of the world would be included. c) Does all the countries in the world have the same resources? Is that in any relation to the size of their country borders? The correct answers are No and No FairPlay is always overstated

Maybe i see this differently than yourself. Right now, picturing it the size of Sahrani, i am imagining another island, that would feature all the relief and climates of the world, with a earth-type shape, where you would need 2 mins to move from Germany to France :) I know where you are coming from, but would rather have this somewhat of a community project, where IceBreaker could for instance do the relief, and then beeing populated later. Oh, and I know the amount of time needed for such a project (although man years is a bit....much) But again, nevertheless, no matter of the size of it, it's still an ambitious project. I was not criticizing it, i was just giving my input. And so where you for that matter

What the hell are you on about? what does your mission type idea has to do with an ISLAND addon? @kju: not really sure what you mean. on one hand, making it bigger has it's disadvantages. I do agree with that. On the other hand, making it the size of Sahrani would mean that a "country" would be actually not bigger than the size of a village. And that is an average country. In the end it is IceBreaker's call, based on what he wants to achieve with his island. No one actually knows what is the scope set for his island but Ice.

Problem with beta patch. Has been there from version 58814 all the way to 58879: When logged in as admin and trying to changed the mission parameters (such as time of day, or weather, or anything else defined for that matter), it crashes to desktop. This behavior is not there in the 1.03 final patch. Easy to reproduce. -

great work Mandoble...really looking forward to it. I was on the same page with kju (looking at it from a PvP POV mainly), but your answers gives me a warm feeling. Also, i am assuming that the AA missile hit ratio can be less if countermeasures are active About countermeasures - will those be manually fired? could them be set to auto deploy if wanted? - does AI deploy countermeasures as well? - will mando work with 3rd party countermeasures system suck as RKSL ones? -

has been answered before....it depends on the model, but 20k is a bit much. Around 12k, max 15k would do. Also, as said before in one of the ArmA1 modeling discussions, Sections are more important that ploycount. AFAIk, 20k is the max ArmA engine would support. It doesn't mean you should aim for that though. The fewer the better @bogdanM, out of my own curiosity, where are you from? - it has nothing to do with the subject -

I don't want to bash you in any ways. But after reading what your community project is all about, i have a question: what are YOU going to do from the above list? You say you aim for "perfection" (whatever that means for you). Then i suppose your modeling, scripting and texturing skills are on par. Or at least one of those. Point is: ideas don't create addons... but, good luck with your project nevertheless. -

you are new to OFP, ArmA etc While to some degree i understand what you are about, you will also need to understand how a game development goes, what are the limits of this particular engine, how a mod/addon is done, and what are the limits of one... That said, there are so many like yourself requesting and asking for a number of things that are impossible, for the bis developers, as well as addon makers...I know this is a bit OT, but sometimes i don't understand it....hopping is all good as long as you know WHAT can be done, and if it CAN BE DONE. -

you can do 2 things: 1. write down showHud false - write it down in description.ext. Will remove all HUD elements 2. use camera.sqs, press L to remove cursor, and use showCinemaBorder false in a trigger to remove the black up and down wide screen border

It is and yeah agree...Just make that option to the mission selection: 1. Medic Module - First aid module enabled + Corpsman Available 2. Standard Medics - Corpsman available 3. No medics available - No Corpsman available, just replace them with standard rifleman
