    ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues

    I think they should make the game able to use 4gb of RAM on 64bit systems (obviously on 32bit systems the have to make improvements): it's possible that we have to make a RAMdisk to run this game smooth? I (and a lot of users) can't make a RAMdisk: I have "just" 4gb of ram and making a 2gb ramdisk makes no sense...not all of us have a 16gb of ram systems... Here's my PC config: it's not the top of the world but it's still a good config for a lot of games. Game details are all on medium and I still have bad performance Motherboard: ASUS M3A CPU: Athlon 64 6000x2 RAM: 4gb DDR2 800mhz Kingston (1*4) HD: MAXTOR STM3250310AS-318AS 250Gb. SATA-II 7200 RPM 8Mb Video Card: nVidia Point of View 9600Gt 512mb Operative System Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit SP2

I have a couple of suggestions: 1-To avoid stucking with npcs: if I'm colliding with an npc, he should to move back 2-About CQC and suppressing fire: suppressing fire in CQC can help us outflanking the enemy like in Brothers in Arms...sure, enemies won't stay behind a wall forever taking fire: they'll move and will try outflanking us (maybe using smoke grenades too). This will make game much more immersive (IMHO)
  9. They do it automatically: in the editor put yourself near a wall in a city and in front of you put an enemy armoured vehicle like an HMMWV (but this should work with heavy machinegunners too). Hide immediately behind the wall and see what happens =)

About suppression fire I think it's much better that if we have 2 (or more) men in our team with a light machine gun (eg RPK), they alternate each other for the suppression fire: one of them starts suppressing the enemy, then, when he has to reload, the other one starts a new suppression fire in order to have an uninterrupted suppression and so on. In order to save ammo, commander should be able to stop them and they should understand when they should stop firing (unless commander didn't say "stop idiots!"). :D

  14. Is BIS going to use the "LARGEADDRESSAWARE" Flag to improve performance in the 1.05 patch? Are they going to use in a better way multi-processors PCs for AI and performance improvements? (However, excellent job 'till now, BIS ;) )

Hi, I downloaded some OPF vehicles and weapons but I don't know how use them in the game: for example, I downloaded a AK47 model (.pbo name's is: AK47CS.pbo) and I put the model in \res\addons I putted the model too in \addons and \@ak47 nothing, in the game I have the old AK47, yes, too the base model is well but this new is better...I want know how can I use in the game (using how AK47 default in the game) or when can I find a AK47 ("classic" edition) to download and install... thank you PS: Sorry for ortography errors but I'm not english\American
