  1. Do you use waypoints for the unloaded troops or are you running a script?
  2. It might be not enough. I experienced several times that even in case you're setting formation to None, once you preview the mission the group leader calls back to formation and they don't remain in the position you wanted to stay them. I couldn't figure out so far if this is only happening to me or it's game related. In case you'll exoerience the same .... add in every units init field doStop this that should prevent them moving. The dead units are a result that when the units are placed on objects or to close to objects they die. Therefore a precise unit placement is necccessary otherwise they end up dead. Hope that helps. regards nettrucker
  3. I'm using that command in the group leader units init field wgrp1 = group this; {_x moveInCargo wh1} forEach units wgrp1; Name groupleader is wgrp1 , name of chopper wh1 Just replace the variable names with those you used. It never failed to work. Hope that helps. Cheers:D

Hi Janxy My favourite ones are definitly "Another Day". Love the vocals on it. "Completely pretty" is great for his atmosphere and "Suffer" is great too. These were more or less the songs which captured immediately my attention. It is so great to find out that other community members are making music. Check the links Binkowski posted. Balschoiw makes great music too. Vilas posted a lot of music which I never heard before. Still listening to your songs. Keep it up. Thanks for your reply.:D

Wow I just watched the videos. Really awesome. Watching you playing . . . I would say you definitely have the skills. Really amazing. I would bet you had your fair share on George Lawrence Stone "Stick control" Awesome single beat patterns, triplets. paradidles. Are you play also drums? If not it's really a shame you would be an awesome drummer. What is most amazing is the precision of the execution. Liked the show. How the hell are you supposed to remember all the positions where to move? The perfomance of the horn section was great. What a sound . . . I loved it . . . this has touched my very heart. I saw it twice and the second time the volumn was up. My sincere compliments you are not only talented in addon making. All the best:D ---------- Post added at 09:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:24 PM ---------- This is love . . . and not only for the music.:inlove: ---------- Post added at 09:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:30 PM ---------- Hi Balschoiw I checked your myspace. Oh great let me know when you're ready. my favourite Primus album is "Sailing in a sea of cheese". I'm not capapble of playing a convincing blast beat as Derek Roddy or the Nile drummer does. Never really studied blastbeats but I've seen quite some videos on you tube. Especially Derek Roddy and watched some drum clinic videos of the nile drummer George Kollias especially his swifel technique on the pedals is something outstanding. anyway wish you good luck

Hi h- I know the drummers of Nile and Hate Eternal. There is some extreme drumming of both drummers. Their double bass drum skills are outstanding. But I prefer a Jeff Porcaro (Toto) a thousand times. Porcaro has always been one of my favourite drummers. He was the human groove machine. Do you have a band, website, myspace or something like that? I would love to hear something. regards

IMHO having technical skills on an instrument is definitely an advantage but it's not all. Music don't have to be technical for being good, if it touches you by the very heart than I don't care if it's technical or not. I listened for years only fusion or progressive rock. I started playing Rock music, from there I went to play Blues. The blues got me nearer to black music, after I was done with the blues I listened a lot to soul and funky music from their I went to Jazz and after that fusion, but in the end I turned back to rock music. I like to play nearly all styles. but when working together with my buddies than we like to use the kiss principle "keep it simple and stupid" I played once in band where we played a lot of Hip Hop Trip Hop, RAP. It was a nice experience because I never played one single fill or drum roll. It was all based on groove. I liked it because my drumkit was very small. Only kick- snare drum Hihat and a couple of cymbals, that was all. One of my favourite artist is definitely Frank Zappa and Joe's garage is my favourite album but there are all very unique. Zappa played always with extraordinary musicians. Hell, even Steve Vai felt his vibe. Vai one day decided to send Frank a transcription of one of Franks song. Zappa admitted that even he wasn't capable of transcribing the whole song. The next following weeks Steve Vai started to play with Zappa and you can here that very well on his first own release "Flexable". In any case I can only repeat myself music is a personal taste thing. Period @Kremec unfortunately I never really got into country or bluegrass. I love the country songs of Dixie Dregs a lot though and yeah, it definitely needs skill to play good country or blugrass. Thanks to all of you for your replies. Stay tuned :D

Hello Stryker I understand exactly what you mean and it's always difficult when dealing with well developed ego band members. luckily I found my buddies. There is no such an ego thing and therefore it is really cool to write and play songs together. What is important to us is the song itself not the single skill of the musicians which are playing. We never have any kind of stress, working relaxed but concentrated and it works perfectly. I might be a lucky one.:D For me playing drums on my own is also kind of a therapy it helps staying creative because I'm playing things I normally wouldn't play with my band. Second I get rid of all my tensions caused by my little anger problem. It helps me to get rid of all negative vibrations I absorb during a day. I know the reward you get from playing for yourself. Never stop playing as long as you have fun. Wish you all the best nettrucker:D

Hello vilas I definitely agree to most of the points. Yeah a DJ is not a musician unless he is playing an instrument and you as a former fellow drummer know exactly how much skill it takes actually to really play an instrument. You can already hear it in a song if it has been written by a musician or a DJ. In any case DJ's have gained a space in the music business back in the 70's evolving since then. But the real music will always be written by musicians and not DJ's using software. All my best Hey my personal thanks to all your great addons. kind regards nettrucker Edit: Hi dmakatra. I'm not saying there is no good music composed by DJ's out there but the average DJ has no musical background in terms of playing a real instrument. In any case music is an individual taste thing. I love all music as long as it's well made. It doesn't matter what genre, moreover I am even more fascinated to strange music.

Hello everybody wow nice to see so much feedback it's really cool. Hi Total had a look at Lychesis myspace. Cool tunes man. I love progressive rock a lot. Favourite bands are Rush, Dixie Dregs,Yes, King Crimson and the list is really endless so I better stop right now. I do not agree though with your statement I qouted above. when Hueye Lewis got famous back in the 80's he was well over 40 years old. I don't believe that music is related to age as much as it is in sports for example. When David Coverdale joined Deep Purple he signed for the first time with a major label. After Deep Purple have split up he founded Whitesnake together with other Deep Purple members a few I guess. That was in the 80's but it took him still 15 years from that to really reach the top. in the mid 90's Whitesnake got big everywhere. It takes a lot of endurance and believe in yourself. It takes energy and constant dedication. The real problems why it has become really difficult is a long list of major events that started taking place in the mid 90's which have contributed to get the big record companies in trouble and that was Internet. But it would really getting too long discussing details. In any case me and my buddies believe that nowadays you have more tools at disposal to gain visibility and that is a positive thing considered that Internet did a lot of harm to the music industry. We have opened profiles everywhere in more than 40 sites similar to myspace because we have been asked to do so by the guys who are running it. I could go on, but I leave it here, in any case my compliments. There's a place close to where I live where people joining together on Thursday evenings and jam together on a stage. I'm every Thursday evening there if I have no other important things to do. Met a lot of new musicians too and made some new friends. We just meet to have some fun in really wild improvisations and sometimes it's getting out of hands and it's becoming hard for the ears.LOL:D But this is mostly due when you find yourself on stage with people you never really played with before. I see mostly that people don't listen to what the others do and everyones just playing for himself so it's getting a mess. But I already figured out the right guys to go on stage with and it's huge fun. well I started the Alchemy project with my buddies back in 2005 and it's a perfect symbiosis. There are no ego trips. We have only one rule set. There are no rules!!!! We wrote 40 songs since now and around 30 are still WIP. We are not following a precise genre. We play Rock pop sometimes some parts are also progressive. As long as it sounds good it's Ok. We released in 2008 our first EP entitled "The Twilight Zone" We split up from the label shortly after and were stuck without distribution ( mostly digital) for about 7 month meanwhile we had quite some radio promotion ongoing. This was very unfortunate but this has been resolved in the meantime. We are currently working on a full lenght CD. We still have to find a new label but I am confident that we'll find something because in the last year we established quite some contacts. Anyway it is nice to learn to know that there are people who are playing an instrument. Here's the link of a self made video of one of our songs. http://www.youtube.com/user/alchemyrockband Wish you all the best and stay tuned. nettrucker:D

I agree with you on that one and it's not only related to guitar tutors. My first year I was taking drums lesson I only got to play marching drum exercises on the snare drum because my teacher was following strictly his teaching method. After 1 year I stopped and found myself a private teacher. I thought by myself WTF. I have given personally drum lessons for a long time now and my students never lost interest due the fact that I know to well how to keep them focused. They stay because it is fun to learn new things. I was studying by myself the book "Stick Control" First 3 pages took me 2 years to bring the exercises to speed and they are more difficult to play on very slow metronom settings. In any case these single beat combinations were really dry stuff and no fun at all. But after a while I thought to myself why not displace these patterns all over the drum kit instead of playing them only on the snare drum. And there is where the fun starts and you can learn to play some wicked things just applying a simple pattern. Just let your fantasy flow. As for myself a like a lot of different music as long as it is well made. I love classical music too. Thanks for your reply wish you all the best kind regards nettrucker ---------- Post added at 04:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ---------- Hi Bascule42 Yeah guitar is a kickass instrument.
