When my motherboard packed up i took my PC to a private shop in town, they charged me a 5er to look at it and find the problem, and think it was another 15 to install the motherboard. they didnt reinstall xp, as id asked them, they just had to change some files. but i dont know which ones. so it IS possible. i just dont know how.

You really need to get permissions before you show pics and attempt to claim its your work or people will get annoyed.

the best implementation of moving in vehicles ive seen (ive not yet played BF2142) was in Joint Ops a online game, you could stand ont he sides of little birds and jump off them at will, or alternatively sit on them. was Brillian in UH60s when ud have people sat down and stood up and all firing from the vehicles at the same time, I do wish theyd implemented this in ARMA would have been awsum!

hey guys. my current computer spec is Pentium D 3.5Ghz 2048mb Ram Radeon HD 3870 512mb GPU and a 19inch 1440x900 monitor in order to play HD movies and downloaded content ie trailers of apple movie trialers site do i need to upgrade my monitor to one that supports 1920 x 1080 output? I downlaoded a TV episode in HD to see waht the 1uality was like and it just froze the video player. I was considering getting a blu-ray drive too so i can begin to upgrade my DVD collection to bluray but as the Downlaoded video stalled i dnt want to spend the money on this as of yet. any help is much apreciated, thanks.

there seems to be a bug on the one click map method where if you do 0-0-1 first then go to the map u cant click but when you do you fire a round. it works however if you go to the map then call in the support. Oh im using 1.08 if that helps at all. Thanks.

Hey im having pritty god results on vista running it in the XP SP2 mode, getting 35FPS on MP. however im having trouble the game keeps crashing to desktop and i get the following error "Cannot create system memory surface DXT5,1024x1024 (size 1398112 B) Error code 80070000e" This only seems to happen on MP so far. Any suggestions? My rig is Intel Pentium D 3.2Ghz 2048mb Ram Radeon HD 3870 512mb ram GPU thanks for any help.

i feel like im going to get flamed for this but while we are ahving a interlectually stimulating debate... Scientollogy does the exact same things that Christianity, Judaism, and Islam do, they brainwash you into believing something that you cant prove and ask for your money in return. and them targeting people who bad mouth them is just what all the other churches of the world do. Atheists in america are afraid to stand up and say they are due to the hostile feeling they get off some people for example. im not defending them, just pointing something out. and as for infiltrating the US government, christianity did that along time ago. I believe that most of the founding fathers were Atheists and through reading the constitution it seems to be a rather secular text. something went wrong in america.

ok sounds like your problem is a little different to mine anyway just thought id let you know of my problems before you do anything, only just go mine fixed after months of work. get playing QG for a bit then it just dies on me, im not a happy bunny:(

i had the exact same problem too. however it stopped reading CDs at a certain point to. now when i tried to reinstall windows the installation stopped part of the way through. i assume as the CD drive just stopped working. i ended up borrowing someone else's CD drive then reinstalling windows then buying a new drive. what i think ull find is that most programs like arma will only use the DVD to detect that it is there. they wont look for it again. so you turn your computer on and start playing straight away. then you turn it off 6 hours later. for me my drive may have been damaged for months and i not noticed. Some people think this is however a securom bug, something about it not being compatible with many brands of CD drives and it damages them. good luck with getting it to work, i can only tell you of my personal experience on this matter. on a personal note. my GPU appears to have just died on me. every time i start a game it reboots the computer. my budget for a new card is 60 pounds unless i can get this repaired under warrenty. so i think im looking at a X1650 again or a 2600. is there a clear difference between these two cards which one is better? both have 512 memory. also any problems with arma on these GPUs? also is thermal paste supposed to be hard or soft? ie it rubs off?

wow dude. cant wait to play on this. was considering looking into map creation and a middle east style island. got some maps of basra and baghdad and wanted to look into making them. hopefully arma 2 will support much larger cities or towns than the current arma does. good look with your project. ps extended to infinity? always wondered if that was possible. cant wait to see this! regards. john

Im not sure but map to map jumps would be impossible in armed assault. you would have to be able to load another mission file within a mission and carrying over all your settings, Ie troops and weapons. In the OFP mod some people created massive maps that had many, many small islands on them with different themes. so missions could take you to any of the worlds at the same time. this overridden the need to load a different island map. probably do the same for ArmA at some point. i not looked into island editing yet but i know someone who may be able to help us. to couter-act the horrible ArmA lod loading bug when you reach the other side of the gate would it be possible to begin to load the the other side of the gate while the vortex sequence begins? thus avoiding a more prolonged loading times? @xav - from what i can gather from the series the atlantis gates were made by the "Ancients" and the milkyway gates by the "gatebuilders" as the atlantis ones were made after the gatebuilders they are more advanced and dont have the spinning element of the gate, instead the flying light glyps.:D thats what i thought anyway.
